  1. Past hour
  2. AFAIK, it's only some of the default models where the doors can be 'modded' to open (The C152, C172 and TBM). I believe this is because Asobo did model the doors as separate parts, but just didn't do the animation code (for some odd reason). I don't think the models for any of the default airliners can be modded so that the doors can be opened. Could be wrong.
  3. Not in the dialog windows which read coordinates (userpoints, jump to coordinate and others). You can use measurement lines for this: Alex
  4. Anyone dare to make a guess as to performance in MSFS with the Super model at 3,840 × 3,840 plus the wider FOV?
  5. Well...yet another update that has nothing to do with the A320
  6. That was never my impression I looked at single thread and multi performance and it is about in line with expectation, +25%. In this sim it's probably more than 25% but as I lock rate at 45 or so now that's good enough when we're stutter-free. Right now I'm in the FBW 320n and locked at 45fps at another KORD gate, whereas wide open it's 78fps, but haven't loaded FSLTL yet. My former locked rate was not quite there. I would need to lock at KORD at around 33 or so in this plane, so 45 is a meaningful change as that is in the realm of much greater doesn't add much compared to the diff between 34 and 45. TBH, adding 4090 was the best move here, and that is w/o using frame generation. The added VRAM and running Render Scale at 150% really made a nice difference visually. Had I not needed to move the 9900K into a different role I would not have done the upgrade. 7880X3D was also chosen for its modest cooling needs as I prefer air.
  7. Hi, is it implemented, to add / enter a position to the flight plan by Place-Bearing-Distance (PBD) information? For example: FUN211.0/006.0 (Funchal, 211.0°, 6.0 NM) Thx and BR Hans
  8. Which problems? Long standing problems that haven't been addressed in the past months/years? They won't begin with it just in the last 2 weeks of the beta. Or are there any regressions in SU15 Beta that make the experience worse than SU14?
  9. Yeah I think we are all under the consensus that FSL will be laughed out of the MSFS market if they want to hold on to their old P3d pricing structure. The $49 I paid for the Fenix on day one is probably one of the best Flightsim purchases I've ever made. Will gladly hand over the price they ask for the 319/321....getting the major majority of the A320 series for way less I think FSL may charge for the equivalent content, if they ever bring the A320 to the MSFS market (which even if they do, I think its years out at minimum)
  10. It will not be released as an early access...He just has an early access copy.
  11. Surely it would be a pretty hard sell if it was that bad?
  12. I absolutely love UK2000's new EGNC ..... I'd wanted a payware version of that airport in the sim for years, for lovely, short, local test flights to/from Newcastle. I hear what you're saying about the aviation museum though. It's not fab but I don't look at it too often. And yes the Eddit Stobart trucks 🙂 Still the main buildings and ground area is great I think, for the price. (I don't have high standards for airports - in fact I'd prefer more bundles of 'lite' airports, at a reduced price). I find the terrain is a mess on quite a few of the included handcrafted airports, undulating all over the place, as someone said like a rollercoaster. In my (usually unpopular) opinion, I find the Burning Blue Designs airfields greatly overrated, with dull, low res textures and signage on the buildings. They have tons of detail, but most look like they're from FS9.
  13. As mentioned in a previous thread on this topic there is a payware load screen replacement available - Stripr by //42
  14. Early Access... for airports is a thing now?! Well it was always going to be Aerosoft that came up with that idea. 😄 I'm not knocking Jo Erland's work though ..... he's made some stunning sceneries over the years.
  15. Today
  16. This is something Asobo ruined with SU7 and here we still are today, having to rely on METAR reports that turn off to be nothing like what we see in Live Weather. I don't think they want to accept they made a mistake when they bowed to the vatsim vote harvesting for METAR to be included, that in itself is the main reason we are where we are today having to rely on a 3rd party apps to yet again fix what Asobo broke. It's a sad state of affairs but they seem oblivious to Live Weather issues, Seb seems confused when the same questions get asked in Q&As, but there's a reason they're continually getting asked.
  17. There does seem to be a bit of an over-emphasis on approaching fronts, as if it is perfect weather one side, and then terrible on the other. It's not always that cut and dry. The good thing is if you value this feature of MSFS, you can still use ASFS to give you better air/turbulence/thunderstorm effects that default MSFS simply does not have, or implements poorly.
  18. I agree. Oddly I liked flying/landing the initial release version more than any of the patches that came out to tweak the handling when on short final.
  19. I very much doubt it will be like that. You will see for example clear skies all around and then by approaching an airport (that was looking like clear sky from further away) it will then be covered by clouds. And looking back where you just flew through clear skies will also be cloudy (as example) because the actual closest weather will be applied everywhere around you. That’s a huge immersion-killer since you won’t see any fronts anymore (if it’s the way I am understanding it). No local weather anymore, only global. A big step back.
  20. Horizon hardly changed more than 3% of the code. If 3% represents a great job and 97% is trash your judgement might be trash as well. I wonder how somebody can be so bitter because the doors of a default aircraft are not opening as they should. Horizon would be free to mod the doors of that model since 2020 (as it was done for other default models like the TBM).
  21. I have flown towards increasing cloud before and the weather has deteriorated as expected. It is not random. It is in accordance with what I might expect - flying into an overcast area from a relatively nice day. On an unrelated note, I have valued the accuracy of the ASFS depictions, something MSFS is not so good at as far as accuracy at airports goes. The other evening - WMKP Penang had a thunderstorm on top of it according to the METAR. Default MSFS weather - nothing - just some fluffy fair-weather cumulus cotton balls as far as the eye could see. A pleasant, mostly sunny afternoon. Nothing at all like the actual conditions reported there. ASFS, however, correctly depicted the thunderstorm and crappy weather around the airport. Even the MSFS METAR said TS but it was not presenting anything even remotely like it. Just a nice afternoon.
  22. Can confirm. Seems to be a scenery load thing. Very useful if you've got either a highly overclocked CPU that pushes temps when fully loaded, or if scenery is stored on a spinning rust hard drive given that they tend to not really like massively parallel read/writes very much.
  23. The value from Fenix is truly amazing. I paid FSL $100 for just the sharklets on the A320 and A321.
  24. These were just randomly placed. With any addon tool, there is no such thing as a clear view to the horizon on one side and bad weather on the other side. I just wanted to mention that point to visualize what we have with default weather and how these addons are inferior in some crucial areas.
  25. There is a plugin or tool to connect LNM to FG but it seems the developer gave up on it: https://github.com/slawekmikula/littlefgconnect I'll try to continue but I cannot do everything.😞 Alex
  26. Will download this at the weekend. Does anyone (or is it just me) find handling gets extra sensitive when close to the ground only (particularly in roll axis). I’ve tried various settings incl the SDS and it’s always the same.
