  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, I ran it manually three or four times, and even turned off my AV, Turned out a PC reboot was needed.
  3. Not sure what to tell you....FL350.....Looks awesome, but I do agree that on the ground looks better than anyone else can make it..... Take a look at this: https://imgur.com/a/0WfLGAO
  4. When they first started talking about Pay TV in the 50's or 60's, everyone hated the idea. We didn't realize that it would show better content and all ad free. When I got back from Germany in 1976 (I was in the Army) and moved to a house around 1980, we couldn't get TV reception and had to get cable. I very quickly decided it was well worth the price, along with a bundle of movie channels like HBO, Cinemax and Showtime. A few years ago we dropped Dish because it didn't have local channels and went to rabbit ears. Currently using rabbit ears to receive digital TV local channels but my wife is the only one watching. Hook
  5. well it's not ready to be used with anything in P3D yet. It doesn't respond to anything when firing up Aerosoft A320. Note their Simapp must be running in order to use the hardware. So far just compatibility with MSFS but it is a very nice, robust unit with nice lighting.
  6. Yes I agree I flew the Fenix A320 yesterday and just sat as a passenger in the cabin during cruise and it was very relaxing. The things we can do in the sim are endless.
  7. I stopped watching TV decades ago because of the ads. We already had mute buttons on our remote controls and it wasn't enough. I went to the movies several years back (paid full ticket price, of course) and they had ads. Not trailers, ads for products. I was the only one in the theater who voiced a loud complaint. I watched a video ("Hogfather") on Amazon Prime a few days ago and it had ads. A few years ago all the cool quirky features I used to watch on Prime started requiring subscriptions... many different subscriptions. Prime price keeps increasing and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it at all. I don't mind paying for Kindle Unlimited as I read 185 books in the last year, almost all were Unlimited. I use AdBlock Plus which deals with YouTube ads fairly well but may have a memory leak of some kind as my base memory usage goes up slowly when I watch YouTube. Doesn't matter, I can reboot often enough. Hook PS. Cool quirky feature on Prime: "Rubber" about a living car tire. An actual tire, live action. They somehow gave it a personality. I wanted to watch it again but it was subscription only. It's currently unavailable "in my location" but you can see the trailer. PPS. The last time I went to the theater the first thing that came up was the Netflix logo. My group and another group were the only ones there. It didn't even take up the full screen area. I think the movie was "Starship Troopers", a satire made by a guy who didn't read the book. Cool visuals though. PPPS. Is a VPN worth it? H.
  8. Yes but this is also with yaw damper. Coordinated turns are a lot of work, which they should. To be in a stable flying platform. I understand the interconnect system, rudder trim, p factor, and have my controls in linear response profiles. If the real thing flies like this, then I think pc12s would be crashing all over the place. It’s almost like in trying to replicate realism it somehow has gotten unrealistic in feel. They also had issues with the Kodiak flight model and yaw as well….i don’t experience this with any other developers models on yaw. Well, I’m disappointed because I’m not feeling confident this is going to become much better. I don’t think I’ll be buying another one of their products. I’ll try to practice more but it just feels not believable to be fighting the airplane.
  9. The flat and samey look is probably stratus layers which MSFS does not display. They are accurate but flat. Damien has mentioned that he's looking into a "disable stratus layer" option for those who don't like the visuals. For me, the MSFS visuals are beautiful but not representative of real world. Way too many cumulus clouds but they do look pretty. MSFS doesn't display cirrus clouds either.
  10. A good looking aircraft, and you've presented it beautifully!
  11. Another great series! Lots of scenic variety in these shots.
  12. Awesome 👍, can't wait for this one and as a German even more, a good EDDF is missing in MSFS !! cheers 😉
  13. I just updated right over and continued to run. As always, each system is different. It sounds more like AS wasn't properly closed before the update for whatever reason.
  14. Well sure, but it is only 1 click away if I feel the need. Being able to change "on the fly" is a really nice feature.
  15. I don’t think any program could extract the data from a BGL into a spreadsheet. The closest is AIFP3 which shows the aircraft, airports and routes flown. I use it when I have a single NO PAINT. I replace the aircraft with one with a paint. Compile and job done. AIC will show you all flights for a BGL if that helps. Use Flight Finder, select the airline and press search. Might that help?
  16. Great shots! I always liked that livery on the 737-200.
  17. Only problem is you miss many features in Passive mode like T storms, cirrus clouds, etc.
  18. So I'm halfway through my first flight with it... impressions so far: On the ground, the clouds look very good - way better and more atmospheric than the MSFS rendering. Once airborne and above a certain flight level ... I have to say, I prefer it in "Passive mode". The MSFS rendering seems much better at rendering the upper atmosphere. The AS rendering is rather flat and "samey" (at least on this flight, like I say it's my first). Turbulence effects and "random chop" is perfect So for me ... I would love it if there could be an option to switch to passive mode above a certain flight level. Since there isn't, I'm probably going to leave it in passive mode and let MSFS control the weather rendering but have ActiveSky running for the atmospheric effects which are excellent.
  19. Most videos I saw on youtube hand flying PC-12 pilots had yaw dumper on at all time except take off landing. I think it's for the reason.
  20. If you bought AS before you may buy it. I didn't and won't because I rarely use live weather. If you don't want to bite Floyds Soft Clouds are great. sp
  21. That is exactly what I just did, and now it is working. Looks like an update, requires a restart of your PC,
  22. Agreed. I was going to ask Aamir that on the Discord, but figured he'd see it soon enough. A Simbrief flight plan should include everything needed (right?), but checking METAR info from the MCDU will likely need a new endpoint for the data.
  23. https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/toolbar-mods.14820/ can help maybe. Or just reinstall. Update works fine for me. EDIT: Also as others said, you might have updated it while it was still running in the background. Always manually close it after closing MSFS. I was a bit sceptical if live weather was better with it, but it totally is. It even kind of "simulates" distant weather fronts. E.g. on my departure airport it was CAVOK and indeed the skies above me were blue, but AS interpolated other data (forecast?) and showed clouds in the far distance beyond the airport. Not a real "front", but dispersed cloud formations. So it can at least make it seem like there's different weather zones in the simulator. I'm lovin' it. Feels like the last good thing missing from P3D times is finally here and I've never been as much as a happy simmer as I am right now.
