  2. I think you missed my PM! Fixed here: https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/open-beta-update-b8874.14833/ And thanks for the report.
  3. // SimConnect data definitions enum DATA_DEFINE_ID { DEFINITION_DATA, DEFINITION_PDR, DEFINITION_CUSTOM_DATA, }; in the simconnect inspector only 2 are visible. Why? Thanks
  4. itznicholas or anyone in simming world cannot really give me suggestions regarding how to get a suitable radar?
  5. Probably not expecting that Metar...was expecting heavy rain at all times in the UK😁😁
  6. We generate cirrus in several circumstances, sometimes by METAR, but many reporting equipment/processes don't include or filter out high cloud layers. So we also use the model air data as well as our own synthesis for this, with some random influence. We like to generate it realistically. I think it is done pretty well. I see cirrus on nearly every testing flight with ASFS. Feather types are not visually supported on the sim right now through their wx depiction, but hopefully that changes (we're also working on some tricks to get around this for additional variations). For now there are some lower level cirrus (somewhat altostratus), and the higher stratocirrus, cumulocirrus, with perlucidus sub variations showing up now depending on lots of factors (data/synthesis driven with some randomness in the parameters as well).
  7. I've tried this mod. I think it mainly addresses the flight model, not the engine behavior. I have mixed feelings about it. It does seem to improve the ground handling and I think it gets slightly closer to the performance numbers of the actual aircraft in a given situation. I'm not a real Caravan pilot, but have RW experience in the C152 and C172. IMO the default flight model feels credible and pretty close to the numbers.
  8. I have flown the new version once. The behavior is slightly less problematic. But as TomL says, it still feels you are fighting the rudder what ever you want to do with this airplane that can land at less 80kts and feels heavy (also on take off) like a small liner. What ever is going on at SWS is not helping this product which still is fantastic in the visual and sound department. Over and out. Souheil
  9. When in Simbrief, after selecting the "Aircraft Type" Boeing 787 (800 or 900), make sure you also select the proper profile in the next box called "Variant or Airframe", you do have two different profiles available for the Horizon 789 (RR and GE) and one for the Kuro 788 for Simbrief planning. The Coast Index (CI) will be computed automatically in Simbrief.
  10. then the problem in this sim may be the available data you both (msfs and AS) use? i fly all around the globe and use live weather only. I’d say there’s a 5% chance i will encounter cirrus clouds when in real life that would be perhaps a 30% chance? and in the rare occasion it does happen it’s a poor attempt at best (never feather type cirrus). I am still amazed by how few people seem to be bothered about this substantial flaw in this sim. Perhaps that the pmdg 777 will change this when people realize they are practically always flying in clear blue skies above 30k feet or so.
  11. The messed up yaw behavior has been alleviated and it is now possible to keep the aircraft on the centerline during the landing approach. However, the underlying issue is still present. It still tends to fly sideways. This can be reigned in more effectively than before, but nonetheless will make you drift off the track again. There will be fans of this flight behavior (motto: if it is so hard to control, it must be realistic), and they should be granted it. I'm deleting the PC-12 because imho it has a fundamental problem with the flight model that requires a major overhaul rather than tweaking, and I don't see that coming any time soon - if ever.
  12. Hi, I wonder what people use here regarding the fuel factor planning in simbrief for the Horizon & Kuro 787 ? Does the Cost Index even work ? I found some major diffrence in Simbrief planning and actual flight.... Share your finding please.
  13. Personal taste for sure. FWIW, I tuned the ASFS turbulence with MSFS turb set to Low. I felt that at higher settings it's too constant and unvaried. You can get good control of the effect with the available turbulence effect scale option (Options, wind). We have more options/sliders planned soon for turb customization as well (such as individual dampening, frequency and amplitude settings).
  14. It works, already tried. Procedure just like with P3D back in the days
  15. Today
  16. We specifically provide stratus and cirrus layers along with cumulus, cumulonimbus base types (and several sub types). It depends on the conditions and the cloud type determination. There is a slight bias towards cumulus vs stratus when conditions are ambiguous (they are more visually popular) but they are there. In general our stratus types are 2000-4000ft thick and at mid to low levels in more stable air. You can also configure custom wx with specific cloud types as desired, but in real/historical this is based on the data.
  17. Does it matter what turbulence setting we use in MSFS? Or is it just personal taste? Dave.
  18. is there any chance that we will ever see cirrus (and stratus) clouds in this sim? Will AS be able to help in that area? Sofar i haven’t been able to see any of those in the streams.
  19. uBlock Origin gets rid of the YouTube ads for me, at least on Chrome. Adnauseum in built on top of it, but I would imaging the click fraud detection algorithms would kick in so the content creators probably won't benefit from those clicks anyway. It might even hurt their revenue in the long run.
  20. The default msfs live weather vis control is different than the preset control and subject to different parameters and limitations. For example in presets you can't assign low vis (without precip) below about 3SM without making a cloud layer act as a fog layer (which ASFS does automatically when it needs to for that vis condition). Between 3 and 9SM we are using control of other parameters (like humidity) to influence as required. ASFS was criticized for having too high vis at least a couple times in streams today, compared to live weather, but it looked right to me according to METAR (except for a bug related to LFVP and too many cloud layers that we resolved in the open beta posted now). So maybe that helps you. Note that if you are in/under active precipitation, MSFS will reduce vis beyond any vis setting/adjust control (that we or msfs live wx has), which is somewhat realistic, perhaps a bit overdone IMO but still pretty close.
  21. For the client app, not at this time, but we plan to add that soon. But you can run the web companion app on any device on the network (through browser). page 3 of this thread
  22. According to his post, he already has, or is at least familiar with the BlackSquare option already. He is looking for similar improvements to engine behavior as the BlackSquare version provides but wants to keep the G1000NXI avionics. I would be intereest in this myself too.
  23. No that is not a model issue. It is bad data in RealTraffic.
  24. I know, this is a stupid question to ask of a weather program, but has anyone tried if the visibility works correctly? The visibility with the default live weather is always half of that of the METAR and it has ruined many non-precision approaches for me. If this is fixed in Active Sky, then this alone would be a reason for me to get it.
  25. Is it possible to have Active Sky MSfS running on a networked pc or does the app have to be installed on the same computer as MSFS?
  26. For me no Flightbeam no flights into or out of SFO for me.
