  2. Thank you for help. So I did have the RTE page filled in with an origin and destination airport and imported a flight plan from Sim Brief as well as hit the execute button on the FMC, but it doesn't put the airport into the EFB performance page, and I have tried a few different airports. Regarding the copy FMC data button according to the tutorial, I watched the button is supposed to copy the altimeter setting from the plane GW and ZFW from the FMC. Also, I'm not sure if the EFB also will calculate the performance for landing, but that button is greyed out for me. I did make sure I have the latest version of the plane, but still have these issues.
  3. We're back to your regularly scheduled program with a gorgeous flight from Sutton on Rogue (0OR8 new from Orbx), a private strip with lovely surrounds, to the far southwest corner of Oregon at Brookings (KBOK). Bullfrogsim has done a stunning freeware rendition I hope everyone will pick up: https://flightsim.to/file/73283/kbok-brookings-state-airport Drone view reveals all - Sutton is a 2500 x 75 ft grass strip situated just north of Medford Rogue Valley (nearest large airport KMFR) Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Basically one direction for takeoffs and one for landing with the grading... 4. Excited about the A400M. That’s one beautiful plane. I wonder how high the fidelity will be up front in the cockpit. It’s got some pretty advanced avionics and HUD’s. Here’s to hoping that they do it some service and it’s as close as possible.
  5. They were asked if they were the ones working on the beluga and said they were just as surprised by the 2024 announcement as the rest of us.
  6. MSFS 2020 + a working weather add-on would lose sales for MSFS 2024 IMO. I wonder weather the YouTube paid 'influencers' are worried HIFI has stolen some of Microsoft/Asobes thunder? I make no apologies for poor humour there..😌
  7. How did they lie through their teeth? I’m not challenging you or saying they didn’t, just curious.
  8. I can only tell you what I do: I only calculate performance when I entered at least the RTE page in the FMC (origin and destination airport), usually by uploading the flightplan from Simbrief. When I then turn to the EFB, the airport is already prefilled. I suppose it takes it right from the departure airport field in the FMC. So enter that first in the FMC and try again. By the way: I think the "copy FMC" button copies the performance data TO the FMC by the way.
  9. Pretty sure the default A330 in MSFS 2024 (also showin the trailer I believe?) will be iniBuild's too 🙂
  10. Hi Not sure if this is my issue or not but can't seem to find an answer anywhere ( at least through my searches) In config under Aircraft Call Sign I've got my Call Sign Type selected as Airline. Call sign is RYANAIR (Airline Lookup code is RYR which auto filled this ) , for flight / tail number I've typed in F-WWDC. When I request anything with this callsign ATC ignores me (I start with "RYANAIR WHISKEY DELTA CHARLIE"). If I say "radio check" it replies as " RyanAir eff double-u double-u dee see" I was expecting "RyanAir Whiskey Delta Charlie" or am I wrong? Also in the text readback box the F-WWDC has spaces in between , nothing else has that, I've tried without the - aswell. If I change the call sign type to GA no issues and ATC responds with "RyanAir Whiskey Delta Charlie" , only just started with Airlines but no matter what flight / tail number I try it is always not read back phonetically. Thanks Steve
  11. Like said let's wait and see how this plays out, but my final point is I feel like it's a complete waste of resources personally, this is a game at the end of the day not an operating system that people rely on. One more thing, I can already see the Q&A questions; "Why aren't you fixing game breaking Bug X in MSFS2024?" "Because our team are working on a Sim Update for MSFS2020" Yeah that's going to go down well 😁
  12. I read that the Headwind A330 has improved a lot? The comment I read was that if it gets proper A330 cockpit model, it would be decsnt.
  13. The sharpening makes a difference. FG on and off, and mouse on main screen or on another screen, makes a difference. I am not bothered by the difference because "big" is relative. Big enough to see, but not big enough for me to worry much about at all. Compared to stutters or scenery popping for instance.
  14. For all previous sims and most games in the past, the user who wants to keep using an older title has that ability to simply keep using it on their system without worries.. for something like MSFS which has a client/server architecture, the onus is on the sim developer to keep that support alive. I feel that post SU15 they'll be doing whatever is minimally required in order to keep this support going for a few years. If backporting of some 2024 features to 2020 is not going to be that heavy in terms of development labour, then sure why not that too. In the grand scheme of things, if MS/Asobo are only spending a small portion of their development resource/time in order to keep v2020 going, it's a win win all around. I really don't think that just because v2020 is continuing to be supported that a lot of users are going to hold back on v2024... there's going to be a flood of users jumping on v2024 without a doubt IMO 🙂 But regardless, it's good that at least those other users who want to only keep using v2020 have that option, without the server-side getting turned off soon after v2024 arrives.
  15. @fppilot, I agree, the weather now with ASFS is excellent.
  16. Yes sort of. I've had the sim CTD doing Alt-Enter during the MSFS loading. If I don't touch it, it always loads up fine. I wait to alt-enter until it's done loading/at the menu screens.
  17. That's key. If MS2024 Live Weather is still just a bunch of cumulus clouds everywhere, then ASFS, Weather Force, xEnviro, xMETAR et al. still have a future, as their raison d'être continues to exist.
  18. No good for those if us who want to run it in windowed mode but keep having to manually change the size every startup, it's not just a full screen issue here.
  19. Well, at some point support for older titles will stop of course.
  20. ASMS. Assortment of images from a variety of conditions from a flight from Austin Executive (KEDC) to Birmingham (KBMH) today. After nearly four years of vented frustration, this former wx professional is now at ease with MSFS weather. Pressure and winds, both surface and aloft, are spot on with live reports. Thank you HIFi. Where in tarnation have youj been??????? As an aside. I recommend if you are considering Active Sky that you pay attention to the profiles of those members posting in the subject.
  21. But by doing that they're giving people the excuse not to spend £60 (example) on the new title, if the marketplace is the key then they're relying on people still buying off that for MSFS2020. Then comes the time that MSFS2024 becomes so advanced that mods become backward incompatible because it's the new features, add to that things in the latest title that wont be in the previous (tornadoes the big weather selling point an example!). I can understand some of the reasoning but I simply don't get it, I genuinely want to know what other game company has done this because I can't think of any, they're seemingly hedging their bets on people continuing to buy off the marketplace for years to come to warrant the need for two Sims back to back.
  22. I use SI since a few days now and if have to admit that you are 100% right. The vectoring does not work at the moment. I hoped, that at least BATC would be in a better state. Reading @tup61 post tempered my optimism. Even at the dawn of artificial intelligence the holy grail of a working ATC seems to be an elusive target.
  23. I bought it and really wanted to like it but after a few flights I’m back to default weather as I had various, repeatable issues with ASFS. Live weather updates just stopped after departure and by the time I got to my destination the weather was miles off the METAR and still the same as my departure weather. Weirdly, using refresh from the Debug menu updated to the correct weather but that’s not a solution when I want to use Live weather. The second big issue was that it caused erratic speed and roll changes during take off, climb and descent. I fly the Fenix and repeatedly saw the speed race up 50 kts in a matter of seconds during initial climb causing me to overspeed and the same happened during descent in reverse, almost triggering A Floor. Turbulence was also violent when METAR showed 5kts winds and course changed caused weird and erratic bank behaviour. I’ve used AS since FS9 days, tested with various settings (realism, easy, tweaked versions of both), with and without loading a flight plan, even switching off turbulence effects completely but nothing helped. I reinstalled and tried with the latest beta. And yes, I read the manual and I’m not using any weird and wonderful mods or conflicting add ons. On the AS forum there’s others with the same issues - wx not updating and someone even posted a video over there of erratic bank behaviour that stops the second AS is turned off. Maybe I’ll try it again one day after a few more updates but for now I’m back to default as I never had a single issue with it.
  24. SU16 "next year"? You mean after 2024 is released? That doesn't make sense, does it? I've always thought, from the roadmap, that SU16 would be the final update for MSFS2020 and that it would come out, you know, late summer-ish. And then 2024 would come out in October/November.
