This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. For what it is worth, I downloaded Mobiflight, which I have never used. I used the 172 g1000 and both FMS's work. But now the AP does not but the Honeycomb AP works and the lights are on when engaged on the Octavi. Conflict with the Bravo? I do not know. New Win11 and new MSFS install.
  3. Yes, and FS24 compatible with Windows Mixed Reality with actual W10-11 versions, WMR that is going to be in some months with the new Microsoft update or OS, incompatible.
  4. New CPUs GPUs and MBs releasing this year, Intel dropping HT in the yet to be released CPUs Less heat better performance could be the reason. Will have to wait and see the benchmarks.
  5. No, I have no stuttering on the right view TV ( just 2 displays ).. Without FG disabled I get 37-70 fps and with FG enabled 74-140 on the main front view and 37-70 on the side view. If I cap the framerate I see small stutters in heavy situations and when banking, If I use Unlimited they are gone…
  6. Finally we can have historical weather together with PSXT and RealTraffic in time shift mode!
  7. It's not that deep brother, no tin foil hat needed.🤞
  8. I'm not one to get taken in by baseless conspiracy theories. The evidence at hand is what guides me and so far, it is looking like things other than the A320 needed to be addressed and we were never told it was the cause of the delay. It's just funny when I see people talking about it like they know for sure lol.
  9. I'm afraid there are other new sites that make all those reviews in a very good and efficient way.
  10. I never realized that the sunshade worked on the front windscreens, I had only pulled the side screens down on either side. I will try this when I get home tonight and report back.
  11. And it has updates almost every day... a bit noisy
  12. I do not have a problem with the rest of Carlisle airport. It's just that when I see other airport addons with much more accurately modelled static aircraft/aviation museums, I expect to see this done everywhere. It spoils the immersion for me when stuff like this is missing.
  13. Today
  14. I think the price-point is going to be critical for this product. This is not P3D where prices for addons were generally higher but, more importantly, this is not P3D that has no weather, only presents. In those dark days of simulation the only way to get live weather was through a weather engine, period. So, Active Sky or its REX competitor Sky Force was pretty much a necessity. That is just not the case now. A low price point may help.
  15. Regarding the problem of the Fenix screens, you can see in the attached images that in daylight if I use the sunshade, the screens become magically clearer and readable. But without sunshade the screens are dull: this is normal in daytime backlight condition, and FS20 and Fenix reflect both the reality in this way. I don't know what happens to the real A320 in the same light condition, but I see that it happens the same thing when driving my car, the screens appear dull in some backlight condition, because the not only the sun, but the sky is much more brighter than any sophisticated screen, and here we have a sort of dated and old technology screens. P.S.: taking the screenshots I pushed down the gear lever inadvertently, so the rest of my flight was f....d off.
  16. The name only, Active Sky, will generate lots of sales because people will automatically think they will get the AS they knew in the past in FSX/P3D. Now, it remains to be seen if it is going to be the same AS we knew. And anyway, HiFi have no choice. If they get stuck in P3D or XP, they are going to die soon or later. XP is going better but is still a niche simulator. and new users on P3d must be really rare while all the simmers that still use P3D already have AS for a long time. So Hifi has to come with something on msfs. Let's just hope we won't be disapointed.
  17. You may find logging out of Xbox app and MS store app, rebooting and then logging back into the apps may help. That process certainly helps when stuck on the syncing screen.
  18. Recently added RTX4090 and while I appreciate the added VRAM and ability to now run Render Scale at 150% or higher, Frame Generation I've had to turn off, rather sadly. I get flicker/strobing of glass cockpit and especially when looking out the side window of the plane at tarmac I get these substantial strobing effects where it looks like gamma or brightness oscillates whenever the plane is moving including during panning. I have done enough troubleshooting to know it's the 2nd screen I'm using that is setup in Win 11 as an extended display that causes this to happen. If I disable the 2nd screen all is great--problem is I really need the 2nd display to run Self Loading Cargo and a few other things. These graphic or monitor aberrations happen when my main screen is active (mouse has clicked it). The weird part is if I click on the 2nd display to make it active the aberrations on screen #1 disappear! At this point I'm hoping a driver revision addresses this, but then again I can't tell how many others experience this. Chime in please if you have insight! I would sure love to be able to use FG without this 😕 Cheers
  19. This is a helpful and clear summary. I think the approach of having the two modes was thoughtful. I have no interest in the preset mode at all: l never once have flown or had a desire to fly in the past and I do not mind the current cloud depiction (yes, it was and could be better, but it is what it is and I am ok with it, I am not interested in the trade off of mono weather that a preset delivers.) But the enhancements in the passive mode to turbulence and thunderstorm effects have some value to me -- although, honestly, all of us who flew pre SU7/5 know that the simulator can do these well so I am hoping 2024 brings these features back. I agree that this may be a bit of a hard sell outside of the small number of people who remember Active Sky from P3D and if it will not work on x-box that further reduces the audience -- even someone like me who plans to eventually migrate to an x-box when we downsize.
  20. Hi Gerard, but do you get stutterng on the side monitors that are a little annoying?
  21. Appreciate you and other beta testers describing your experiences. It sounds like ASFS appears to work better than current weather add-ons and some of the commentary on here would suggest. However, only a more detailed video demonstrating the program's ability to interpret and display weather in MSFS is going to convince many people to dip into their wallets. This type of real world view has been seen in MSFS, so there is real reticence to give it up while paying to do so...
  22. Well, if someone wants to step up and volunteer to be the review editor, I'll consider it. As it is. our current staff is stretched pretty thin. Reviews are always welcome to be posted in the relevant forum.
  23. I goggled it and I can only find anything having to do with Python. Doesn't seem to be a Windows trick. Could it have to do with AutoOrtho?
  24. I rather think without direct access to a weather api it’s going to be a pretty hard sell anyway. Rex and Enviro have been out for a while now and this doesn’t really look like it’ll be doing anything fundamentally different just….better? It will no doubt sell to many of those people who used it in FSX/P3D but for the great many who already enjoy live weather? No sales on Xbox either? Hmm…
  25. Not necessarely. Because it also has some advantages like perfect depicted metars, history-weather etc.
