  2. The external appearance is stunning, as always with Carenado. I´m away from my sim PC and haven´t purchased the product yet, but somebody please post a screenshot of the VC! They tend to improve their products with succesive versions that come out pretty quickly after the initial release, so hopefully they´ll ameliorate those initial bugs very soon. Cheers, Ed

Do you use any shaders? Many shader presets come with suggested values.

    North Pole Scenery Issues

Yeh those pictures make it seem even more likely now. I think they squish the whole world so the tiles can converge to a point, and activesky flattens them back out to squares, which leaves a big hole where the poles should be.
  7. I've experienced some loss of altitude, but the AP compensates. I do have a bunch of flap dialled in on those low speed turns, say about 175kt and at least flaps 28. It is not as responsive as some APs out there. I guess because it is using the stab movement for pitch and not elevator too. I'll have a look at the elevator trim effectiveness. Would this make the horizontal stabiliser more efficient so that it takes less incidence to have the jet fly level, thus making the stab position look more realistic? I have gained a couple of degrees of ANU by making sure the MD-11 is loaded with an aft c of g, especially if I'm not at MTOW. I've seen less than 5 ANU as opposed to above 6. I begin with zero fuel weight then input the amount of payload I'd like to drag into the sky given the range consideration. Then input the required fuel. I've not had a c of g limit warning for the past few flights. Then again I've been recreating real world flights. Maybe not the exact routes, but the payload and fuel numbers. It is the best MD-11 options for me for FSX:SE and I want to like it more. I just wish Sky Sim would at least try and reply to any support emails... especially from a customer who likes the product!

    New Release expected Today!

They use to abbreviate the names on their products titles, but as Jim Young says, this aircraft remains an ATR, as shown in the video. Nothing to be concerned about. Cheers, Ed

Maybe he accidentally installed a "global warming" patch?

    North Pole Scenery Issues

Perhaps.. I get the squished clouds, but near the pole I just saw white As I got a little closer, the "block of clouds" (I presume this is LOD dictated..) became perpendicular to my flightpath. I got the momentary speed up as the world rotated around me lol then the latitude began decreasing again.

    HDR Lighting Settings P3D v4.5

Good day. I use a 4K monitor and have been experimenting with the "Brightness, Bloom and Saturation" settings in P3D. I was just wondering what settings are being used in the community and the reasons behind using those settings...just to get an idea where to start. Regards.

    Database Error after Domain Change

Hi Dave, I have just switched to the Administrator account to check if the problem persists with another account. I do not want to run it normally under this account, so I don't think, that it is necessary to reset the license. I have already tried to run P2ATC as administrator, but this did not solve the problem either. I will send you the screenshot of the error message. Ulrich

    New Release expected Today!

I suppose you may have a valid point but Carenado named the forum A42 500 Series, not AR or ATR anything. I say you may have a valid point in that it is hard for me to go through their product site and find where they refer to it as AR or ATR. It may be there. It is just that I didn't do an in-depth search of the product site. Now, I see some of our members refer to it as an AR or ATR but not Carenado. Now, in the video which I updated below, the aircraft fuselage will show ATR 42-500. If you Google A42 500 Series, you'll see a lot of results from Carenado. Maybe you should instead ask our members why they called it an AR 42-500. Shame on them! 😎

Sounds like it might be your security software/settings causing the problem. The site is available and working normally. Dave

    Database Error after Domain Change

Ulrich, Your initial problem with the Microsoft DB might have been solved by running the program as Admin by right clicking on the icon or program file and selecting "Run as administrator" from the menu. You can also change a property to always run as administrator. Now that you've uninstalled and reinstalled to a different user account, I will need to reset your license key so it can be used again. Please send me your license key to admin@pilot2atc.com so I can reset it. DO NOT post it here. If have additional issues with database errors after getting the program registered again and running as Admin, send me a screenshot of the error message box via email and I'll work with you to resolve it. Dave

    Hot starts with Bill's mods

Bill, that is an excellent guide to starting a turbine engine. Thank you for explaining not only the how-to, but the reason why generators are often turned off as a part of starting the second engine.
  18. I have noticed huge hirizontal stab deflection in the cruise as well. But my main problem with SkySim MD11 is the autopilot which is simply unpredictable... does anyone experiance significant loss of altitude on low altitude/ low speed turns, on approach for example? The aircraft starts to decent immediatelly after HDG or NAV turn is initiated.

    North Pole Scenery Issues

Do you use active sky? It might be something to do with their high latitude cloud fix. I remember before AS16 in P3D and FSX getting close to the poles caused clouds and terrain to squish up. Maybe as part of their fix stretching it back out, it no longer meets a nice point anymore?

    New Release expected Today!

Having bought the A42, Shorts 360, F50 and Saab 340, I'm going to at (some point) do a deep dive into the cfg's, air and sound files to see how much 'copy and pasting' has gone on. The sounds and feel of these aircraft have in my opinion a lot of crossover from each product. I will say though I'm happy Carenado has produced these aircraft because I'm a big fan of regional turboprop aircraft(my national airline had all of the 4 aircraft in service at one point). Even if they're arcade quality.

    North Pole Scenery Issues

You shouldn’t be seeing that. Back in FS9 days the Earth was flat but since FSX it’s definitely a globe. I’ve only flown over the North Pole once - a flight in Concorde from Helsinki to Anchorage and got within a degree of it. What I saw was very different to your image. Not sure what to suggest really. You might get an answer if you post on the L-M forum.
  23. I need to correct myself here as the Lancaster was developed by Aeroplane Heaven and not by the in-house team. Nevertheless after a fairly brief test flight, it seems to be very nicely modelled with good flight dynamics and great Merlin sounds. The Duchess appears to be a superb addon aircraft in every aspect and the Vulcan likewise and, although I have only had one brief test flight in this cold war bomber, it does seem to fly very nicely with the same somewhat lumbering flight characteristics that this aircraft always seemed to exhibit when I have seen it flying at airshows in the past. As for the sound of the Vulcan, those Olympus turbojets are beautifully replicated and I would almost go so far as saying it was worth buying for that iconic sound alone! Some very good potential deals here particularly for general aviation fans who can pick up the Cessna 152, Piper Turbo Arrow III/IV, Archer or Warrior and Duchess for just under £13 (EUR16 / $19) each if they want all 4 or for slightly more if they only want 2 or 3 of these. All have been developed by the in-house team and I can vouch for the quality of the Cessna 152 and Arrow which I already own - I didn't buy the PA-28 Archer as I already have the A2A PA-28 but I am sure that this also would not disappoint. This really has to be the best sale of this season! Bill

  25. That information is mainly used for some features like slewing aircraft to a specific taxiway or runway by voice. Mostly Blind Visually Impaired pilots using it. Some of the data can be updated. Run "MakeRunways" on your FSX or P3D installation and send the generated files to support.
  26. Happy Friday All! Just a little video on a high quality freeware scenery for Phoenix International airport by MisterX6, that’s been out for a while. Also a thank you for subscribing, liking and commenting on my X-Plane content! Have a great weekend! GripperSim. : )
  27. e415 Ercoupe 415-Caddy The ERCO Ercoupe is a low-wing monoplane aircraft that was designed and built in the United States. It was first manufactured by the Engineering and Research Corporation (ERCO) shortly before World War II; Aerofly FS 2 aircraft made by Krzysztof Kaniewski.
