  2. APRIL 25TH, 2024 – DEVELOPMENT UPDATE Posted by: Microsoft Flight Simulator Team This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is Forum user Parorng! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below! Yesterday, our panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial plus special guests from Working Title and iniBuilds appeared on our latest Developer Livestream. If you missed catching it live on Twitch, you can watch the replay on YouTube here: In addition to answering dozens of questions from the community, some of the other highlights from the broadcast include: Overview from Working Title on the improvements to the G3X avionics coming in Sim Update 15 (SU_15) Presentation from iniBuilds about the Airbus A320neo V2, a free aircraft for all players on all platforms launching alongside SU_15 Announcement of City Update VII: European Cities II which includes updated scenery for: Barcelona Madrid Monte Carlo Nice Porto Stockholm Announcement of Local Legend 16: Short Sc.7 Skyvan (“The Flying Shoebox”) by developer iniBuilds Both City Update VII and Local Legend 16 are targeted for release on May 28. Also announced during the livestream was an update on the Sim Update 15 release date. While we had previously revealed a tentative launch date of April 30, we now think an additional week of development time is necessary. This will be the last Sim Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) prior to the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 later this year (but not the final Sim Update for MSFS2020 ever — SU_16 is planned for early 2025), so the team really wants to make sure SU_15 in an excellent state before we release it. Finally, Jorg also revealed that the licensing agreement for the Top Gun: Maverick DLC is expiring on May 25. What this means is that it will be removed from the Marketplace after that date and players will no longer be able to claim this free expansion. If you have already claimed it from the Marketplace, it is not disappearing and you will still be able to continue using it (including uninstalling and re-installing it from Content Manager). We encourage everyone interested in checking out the Top Gun DLC to download it now before it goes away. In Marketplace news, the team feels like they have the backlog under control and can now begin accepting new developers into the Marketplace. We have a very lengthy list of pending applications and can’t approve all of them at once, so in order to help us prioritize the developers most desired by you, the community, we are asking for your feedback. Please see this thread on our forums where you can share your feedback on which developers you would most like to see added to the Marketplace. – MSFS Team FEEDBACK SNAPSHOT Click here for the web-friendly version of the Feedback Snapshot. MARKETPLACE FEATURED RELEASE We are pleased to highlight the PA-38-112 Tomahawk from developer Just Flight, available now for both PC and Xbox! Following on from their popular PA-28R Arrow III, PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV and PA-28-161 Warrior II for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Just Flight’s in-house team has developed this highly detailed simulation of the PA-38-112 Tomahawk following comprehensive, hands-on research with a real-life Tomahawk, G-BNKH, based at Goodwood Aerodrome with SportAir. An already popular aircraft with the community, Just Flight is excited to bring you this incredibly detailed rendition of the Tomahawk into Microsoft Flight Simulator, complete with fully accurate systems functionality, high quality modelling and texturing, realistic wear and tear, a plethora of customisation options and an immersive sound set recorded from the real aircraft. Just Flight continues to raise the bar with their General Aviation aircraft fleet, with this release bringing with it full 8K PBR textures for the interior and exterior and brand new features that have never been seen before in a Just Flight product, such as a fully interactive walkaround mode, allowing you to perform a full pre-flight walkaround. This is an important feature, as component wear and tear is also simulated that is both persistent between flights, and is variable depending on how you fly the aircraft. Are you a pilot that greases every one of your landings on smooth tarmac runways? Then you will have less tyre wear than a pilot that flies off gravel strips and likes a more ‘positive’ touchdown. The Piper PA-38 Tomahawk is a two-seater, piston-engine aircraft equipped with a fixed tricycle landing gear, 112hp four-cylinder engine and a fixed pitch propeller – an ideal aircraft for flight training and touring! Almost 2,500 Tomahawk’s were manufactured between 1978 and 1982 with many still in operation around the world. The aircraft is renowned for its unconventional stall and spin characteristics, which unlike similar aircraft, require pilot skill to recover from. These characteristics are simulated and can now be experienced in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It’s time to take the Tomahawk for a spin! 3. You purchase the new one through Orbx Central, it's free but it is processed that way. You then uninstall the old version and install the new one. Lee
  4. They did. Asobo and Working Title improved it.
  5. Bought an Aurora R11 with a 3080 but the small case make it very noisy. It becomes a second PC for MSFS dev and finally, I bought an second pre assembled PC at ly local shop just afterward. So, I wouldn’t recommand as a MSFS user.
  6. If you don't want to build one yourself, there might be a local computer place that will build it for you.
  7. Today
  8. It's most likely the Caravan as the scene is labelled as 'Air Ambulance', and well the Caravan livery is done up as an Air Ambulance. If that A330 is not a flyable model, might be AI. I remember several Dev Q&As ago Jorg said they have a bunch of licenced, AI quality aircraft built but they haven't added them because they want liveries for them, they don't want to just add them with blank liveries. The A320Neos in the scene are the Asobo Neo, you can tell because of the white rectangle where the registry number should be.
  9. None of the update news of 2020 or 2024 means much unless MS servers stay online up there in the clouds spinning straw into graphic gold. Yay! Great news! (MS income is rising against all expectations). https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/ar-AA1nFC9L
  10. Don't bother. They hate the new 787 and 747 for some reason.
  11. I’m not interested because I don’t have MSFS. I only entered this debate because of your claim that P2ATC was the only ATC program that could vector aircraft correctly.
  12. Oh it’ll be very good in VR, the real aircraft had excellent all round visibility as a design criteria. A friend and I took one on a tour around the southwestern tip of Australia many years ago, it makes for a good sightseeing, touring machine , if a little cramped for 2 and rather slow. We would have taken a PA28 but there were none available at the time, it was still good fun though.
  13. I guess, really it comes down to the fact that I don't want to build my own this time so I'm looking for a prebuilt. I want to avoid the build yourself forums.
  14. Happy yes. I would not of bought an Alienware, my wife bought it for me for Christmas. You can get a similar or less priced prebuilt. Alienware uses proprietary parts and is not friendly when trying to upgrade components. Alienware will also throttle the system to Intel specs where others will go beyond intel specs and increase performance. Of course, with an Alienware you will never have the problem that some 13th and 14th intel CPUs are having problems when running beyond specs.
  15. The number I gave came from the dev live stream, I didn't make it up. They said there were around 700 people working on the sim and that around 200 of those are at Asobo, They didn't define what they meant by partners, but I assume it's the third party groups like WorkingTitle, IniBuilds, Gaya etc that develop things that come with the sim updates, the handcrafted airports and landmarks that come with world updates city updates, plus the famous flyers and local legends aircraft.
  16. Please reread my first post you quoted. I was talking about SI and BATC planning to include AI injection and controlling.
  17. The new gpu card is going to help you a whole lot, a new cpu will help even more, if you want to upgrade more. (the new cpu will be much cheaper than the new graphics card). type MSINFO in Windows Search. The default area of that is System Summary which will tell you exactly which motherboard you have. And that motherboard's website will tell you the best new cpu that will work on your motherboard (you might have to flash the bios on your motherboard). Only a few cpus out of many will work with a given motherboard. Pry off the fan from the old cpu with exacto knife blade (just use the blade not the knife), add paste on top of the new cpu after you plug the bottom of new cpu into your motherboard socket. And then screw the fan back on the new cpu. Youtube will show you this actually being done in at least a dozen different videos showing the whole process. The fan mounts are different for Intel and AMD cpus. Your old fan mount will probably work as long as you stick to the same brand of cpu.
  18. What does winter looks like in V2? In V1, there were quite a lot of green edges around the ramp, taxiways and RWY... Also, rabbit approach lights for RWY05 were missing. Have they been added in V2?
  19. Why the need to control Ai? They takeoff, fly to their destination and land. If any are in front of you when landing then use AiCompanion to delete them. That’s assuming you use AIG Ai of course.
  20. - Game Mode , On or off? - Hags, on or off? - Rolling Cache, On or off - and size? - NVIDIA Cache, Normal, 10Gb...more? - NCP settings for FS (and in game) - Empty Nvidia fodlers from Cache - Air Traffic, Ground Traffic etc? - DLSS vs TAA (and how is DLSS 3.7) 😃 Just wanna hear about latest recommendations. Thank you.
  21. Your about to get a multitude of opinions making your choice no easier! I would NEVER ask for advice like this on a Flight Sim Forum!!!
  22. I'm looking at this one which has an RTX 4090. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/alienware-aurora-r16-gaming-desktop/spd/alienware-aurora-r16-desktop/useahctor16i08 They also have a model with a 4080Ti here. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/alienware-aurora-r16-gaming-desktop/spd/alienware-aurora-r16-desktop/useahbtsr16igxxd I've had Dell XPS computers for years and been happy with them. Thoughts? Gregg
  23. Hi, After downloading the last City update, I see that the new elements are very awful. Eg : in Konstanz town, Mainau island or Strasbourg i see a lot of blocs that should be trees or so. The forests seem like before, but the first range of trees is weird. A lot of objects are very awful. I deleted the cache and set the details to ultra but after a week, I have no idea. Has anybody the same problem ? Regards
  24. If that's what's needed to get vectoring right in a video game in an acceptable amount of time, it kind of proves my point 😉 Also even that brilliant mind would probably have gone the way of "a beautiful mind" if he had to code vectors for 30 AI aircraft simultaneously.
  25. Orbx has V2. It's listed as a separate product. You just have to go to it on the store, and click INSTALL to add it to your library. Here's the direct link to the V2 version: https://orbxdirect.com/product/fsimstudios-cyhz-v2-msfs
