  2. I think FSR affects only *camera* views - based on whatever turbulence is injected, regardless of what/how generates it.
  3. Hey Ryan- what's with the RV-8 canopy... is there a way to make that more visible/realistic... doesn't look like Perspex atm... perhaps that's a SWS materials choice? Love and appreciate your work- as ever. C
  4. Any insight into how the turbulence settings in AS dovetail with the turbulence settings in FSRealistic? Do they double up or does one overwrite the other?
  5. Today
  6. Yes I noticed this, thanks for the guy that pointed this out in Hi Fi's forum. If it was you, thanks very much man. And Damian of course.
  7. Thank you @Damian Clark for the huge update and particularly reverting the excessive humidity!
  8. Yesterday
  9. I've seen some artifacts when using FG, but the most noticeable ones I've seen happen while I'm planning the flight and in the loading screens (when Alt+Tabbing mostly). While flying I've seen some in the engines when they are starting or when looking around (not many though). They never annoyed to the point I would turn it off.
  10. I'm in beta and it has changed sometime during last weekend. As a rule of thumb I can only urge beta participants to refrain from starting threads like these. If some bug suddenly has been fixed and you are in beta, it is very likely that this is the reason, and that anyone else still suffers from it.
  11. It appears this thing is not as close to release as the poll might have made you think. From discord. A good number of weeks to go at minimum. "Hi everyone, just a little update. Beta is moving ahead by leaps and bounds. We're currently working to identify and fix large showstopper bugs that once addressed will help with the overall stability and quality of the BATC experience. Once these bugs are fixed, we'll enter into a "lockdown" state where we will stop adding any new features and take a couple weeks to finish fixing any bugs that arise. Keep in mind with a product of this immense complexity, there's no way to ever address all bugs or issues, but we will work to make sure as many as we can are fixed before launching. No time frame is yet to be announced, as we do not want to be beholden to a date that can force us to release a product that isn't as ready as it can be. We'll have more information as it comes!"
  12. Noel, 1. What is your monitor's default frame rate (i.e. 60Hz, 120Hz etc). 2. What framerate are you locking the sim too and how are you locking it? (i.e. Nvidia Control Panel, RTSS etc) 3. Are you using V-Sync and/or G-Sync?
  13. I'm betting that LM simply imported the landmark scenery objects from FSX, which is why they even exist in the P3D scenery. Dave
  14. I'm not on the beta and nothing has changed for me. Still have to hit Alt-Enter every time right now.
  15. Is it possible it's just a bad 4090? I've known a few people with screwed up 4090s now.
  16. Not on beta but sometimes it is fixed. Sounds like code I worked on. 🙃 sp
  17. I only ever really get artifacts on the BKSQ Bonanza on the small window on the pilot's side. I see them largely the same anyway when I click away from MSFS (second screen) and the FG stops. I've also seen some strange pixelation in the clouds (high or ultra) now and then, but can't imagine that's tied to FG. It seemed to start in the last month or two, so now there I think about it, it could be driver related...
  18. I def get the 2nd screen issue but there is no way around that for FG users and I don't mind it though it's certainly a complete non-issue w/o FG. My base native rate also when FG is on is 30 x 2 = 60. Believe me, I would happily keep it there if it weren't for these artifacts. And as said, sometimes it's fine but almost always it's not. And here is another oddity: if I click on the 2nd screen all FG artifacts on the main screen disappear until I click back on the main screen, despite the frame rate dropping from 60 to around 44 or so. In fact I've done this just to get away from the artifacts just kept on the 2nd screen as long as able before going back to click something in the cockpit. This behavior should give a clue about something, the fact I can click screen two and the artifacts disappear. Hopefully with this post someone might have a clue where to look.
  19. The only thing I really get is the occasional flicker from my monitor, especially if I tab over to my second non gysnc monitor. It used to flicker quite badly (the main MSFS monitor) when I tabbed out or the screen focused on the 2nd monitor. But I think a recent SU along with new nvidia drivers fixed that. In my experience the artifacts tend to happen when the actual FPS drops and the AI tries to generate the new frame... if I have like 30+ actual fps, frame gen works very well. But when I go lower (and I do haha - eye candy!!) I definitely get some flickers here and there.
  20. With the paint kit that SWS has done, painting in 2D is still possible with this amazing bird. Typically most new addons need 3d like blender or substance... But SWS has made it possible to still paint in 2D. Here's a little fancy red one I've just finished up (a render from substance of course) finalrender by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr
  21. Did you not read what I wrote, or was this not clear enough? Flickering/strobing when looking at tarmac, typically out the side window of the airliners I fly. Shimmer/flicker of certain elements in glass cockpits, or for example characters in the PMDG 738 FMC, when panning These things don't happen w/o FG being ON, and they're anywhere from modest and easy to ignore (rarely) to so distracting I end up killing FG. I tried once before to video this and maybe I can do it with my iPhone. Capturing w/ built in video altered what I see live so I will try this once landed in....Bucharest ;o)
  22. Does The Shard? Or Buckingham Palace? Or the Tower of London? I don’t imagine those do either but they’re faithfully reproduced.
  23. You are the guy that was sure to note I hadn't updated my sig when I made the original post some time ago, that some believed the post title might be about the FG mod, not Nv hardware-based FG, since I had already installed RTX4090. I updated my sig a few weeks ago when I installed the new CPU, take note. The issues persist, hence as I stated clearly in this post I remain perplexed others aren't having the same issues that obviate the use of FG, most of the time in my situation. I made the post to find out how common this might be with high end hardware, and if there might be a potential solution. The first step of this is finding out how much is just that people are sufficiently happy with FG to ignore its artifacts, or if it's possible others aren't seeing this. I am 1000% certain if anyone sees what I see, they would likely react the same way I have. Maybe it's my specific display? That is common to both CPU/motherboards. I just don't have a clue and wish I did.
  24. Yeah, I unfortunately do not even get the GSX menu when trying to initiate it. As a note, I'm using the 737-900. Thanks again.
  25. Both of them are plausible renditions of the broken layer at 10,800ft. They're different, yes, but we don't have the data necessary to know which is more accurate - we'd need to see things like a SKEW-T. My understanding is that Active Sky is taking into account the synoptic scale and upper air data to inform their cloud depiction though? What really stands out though is the very distinct and separate Few layer down lower. This stands out realistically as a separate layer in active sky, but isn't visible in MSFS. If the sky there looked as MSFS rendered it, there would likely be no report of a separate, lower layer in the METAR.
