FSIPanel Standard or Advanced?
BrammyH replied to 737_800's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I use the standard and haven't like upgrading. The good news is, if you do decide to upgrade later, you just need to pay the difference. -
Frame generation in MSFS - the good and the bad
DD_Arthur replied to Cpt_Piett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
If you’re sensitive to the quality of the menu displays then FG is undoubtedly going to be a problem. However, for many of us who don’t have 40 series cards the FG mod - combined with the LoD mod - has been a godsend. Apart from menus, the only artifacts I’m aware of are some funky action going on through the side window - out of the corner of my eye - during initial touchdown. I’m too focused on the actual landing for this to be a distraction though. I use TrackIr; no ghosting, no tearing….. -
Hello, so I used to have ReShade installed in MSFS (Steam Version) with no issues, but had uninstalled it at some point. Today I decided I wanted to install it again, but for some reason no matter what I do, nothing happens when I try and open the ReShade menu in the game. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program several times, as well as changing the button used to open the menu in the ini file, but no matter what I do it won't work. In the main folder for the game, I have the reshade-shaders folder along with 3 files.Any ideas on what I can do to get it working? Thanks

I use FStarter for approaches. Easy to use and cheap at simmarket.com -
Inibuilds a320 won't pushback with gsx
mwilk replied to Hyper14's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I pushed back a lot of E175's and E190's in real life. This can't be any buggier than they were.😁 -
Interesting. I wonder if they connect the other maps at some point?

My bad I watch the movie when in the beginning when the crew where trying to seal the door and made false assumption’s The Actors in the movie did a very believable job I liked much better than Oppenheimer!

sterk03 started following cannot open FSX-SE tried through steam and also direct FSX-
-
I have been unable to get into FSX-SE through steam or directly with FSX-SE. It had been working fine since firt installed in win11. Recently its a no go. Some how I show the Beta edition now and not sure how I got that unless out of frustration I clicked on it. Either way the previous version was not starting up. I would get the sunrise start picture but then it would disappear and no program. Multiple attempts. I did see that my fsx-se looked short of items when i checked that. I thought it re-loads on every startup??? If this could be an issue does anyone have and ideas on how to correct it? How would I get rid of the Beta version if that is a problem. Thanks for any info. Black Square Dukes now expected first half of April
JYW replied to Matchstick's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I love the COWS DA-42. (It's incomparable to the old DA62X mod BTW - as good as that was when it released 3.5 years ago). It's the perfect 160-170kts G1000 platform. Yes, operation is extremely simple. But don't let that fool you. There is much depth involved in that simplicity for the pilot. The ECU Test functions are a good example of this. When I want to focus on my navigation, or a specific RNAV approach, or even G1000 NXi visually-guided approaches, the COWS is my go to. When I want vintage and analogue complexity, I'll likely go to the Dukes. (Until they're released, I go to the C414 or C310). Saying the COWS DA-42 is boring because it's operation is highly simplified, is like saying the A320 is boring, because it's not a BAe 146. And how boring must the Hondajet be? I don't understand any notion of "the COWS will be boring now, because the Duke will have so much to manage". They're just different. They'll both provide the highest fidelity in their own arenas of flight simulation. All of the above comments of mine do respect opinions and the "whatever floats your boat" factor. You are most certainly permitted to find the DA-42 boring.😊 But I personally don't think it's right, nor authentic that the COWS DA-42 is getting a bit of a bashing in this thread, because it's simple to operate. COWS are a fantastic new developer on the scene - I personally want to support and encourage them, especially as they're now working on a (not quite so simple to manage) DA-40NG XLS, with a standard IO360, where props and mixture are not automated like they are in the TDIs. Some people here are easily influenced, so please; don't write off the COWS DA-42, because the excited crowd here (which includes myself) are now labelling it boring, because it's not a Duke. -
So judging from the list of fixes for this beta update, it was probably the iniBuilds A320 that delayed the release of SU 15. I don't see any of the other non-iniBuilds A320 fixes as really game breaking to the point where SU 15 should be delayed, but its apparent in the list that most of the fixes are for the iniBuilds A320. Anyways, I don't mind them delaying SU 15, but at least we know from these list of fixes, that is was very likely the iniBuilds A320 is delaying the release of SU 15. As for the core MSFS engine, it seems to be running pretty well from the reports of the SU15 beta, so if it weren't for the iniBuilds A320, I think SU15 would have been released by now.

It feels a little weird having this conversation mostly with myself but I see a fair number of people viewing so I'll continue. I have discovered that if my flight plan starts and ends at the same airport, P2A gets real confused. That seems to be the crux of the problem. When I was using the flight plan KRDU->WENDI->ILS05R.BEICH->KRDU, the controller never cleared me for the approach. I never even got the "Expect Approach" and when I decided to execute the approach anyway, the controller had no idea what I was doing. I then tried this from a nearby airport and EVERYTHING worked PERFECTLY: KGSO->LIB->ILS05R.BEICH->KRDU. I got the "Full Procedure" (aka "Own Navigation"/"Pilot Navigation") that I was expecting and was able to fly the entire route using the autopilot and VNAV and the controller knew exactly what I was doing. Cool! So, bottom line is: If you want to try and replicate shooting approaches you and a buddy might do IRL at your home airport where you just go out, circle around some convenient waypoint and ask the tower to clear you for a "full approach" (no flight plan, etc), the best way is to create a simple flight plan from a nearby airport (so your departure/arrival airports are different), this works fine. So, if Dave thinks this may be a "bug" that should get fixed, that would be great. Otherwise, this is a resonable workaround. Thanks -mark

Frame generation in MSFS - the good and the bad
FBW737 replied to Cpt_Piett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I don't know how anyone can say that. Although the dlssg-to-fsr3 mod (I assume that is what you are talking about here) does deliver the extra frames its a stutter and ghosting of menus mess. 30fps with it is far far superior to 60fps with it. At least for anyone who knows what they are doing! I thinkered with it for about a month up to and including the current version and it simply doesn't work in MSFS. I may work very well indeed in other titles. I don't know. But even the developer acknowledged that it has problems in MSFS. -
Great shots and livery buddy! 😉

MSFS 2020 Auto FPS App v0.4.2
Old_As_Dirt replied to Reset XPDR's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I'm running it with your settings, except with the AUTO FPS turned on. Overall I get better FPS this way than setting the target frame rate. Everything is perfect! Thanks again! BTW - My System is Ryzen 5 5600G, RTX3060, and 16GB RAM. Usually holds around 40/45 with most settings on ULTRA. -

BeyondATC official poll - release now or later?
WestAir replied to Fiorentoni's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
To be fair, the polished part isn't entirely done either. It's just BeyondATC Core. At the very least they should wait until the last Core version (V1.5). In the other thread, one of the beta participants mentioned he felt the core product is many months away from being ready to go. -
For those not in the beta, a couple of screens from the video below (glass cockpit performance):

yes, that was really fast ..

Did you do anthing different during the install? Everything is default, except for the sim - which I place on the root of a secondary drive.

Thanks y'all for comments! 😉 -
Don't have the Cows, I'd probably get bored after a short while too. As I have been with the modded DA62X. I think I like the King Air so much is because of it's complexity. Hence, I don't fly the TBM850 as often. In terms of complexity, the Duke seems to have a bucket-load of that! It's no doubt their best aircraft so far - and it might very well end up being the best GA aircraft in MSFS.
