It flies much better! Excessive yaw has been fixed . I'm using TDS NXI version and PFD integration has been significantly improved for me. There are still few minor binding bugs but it is not show stopped -
Active Sky FS First Impressions
Cpt_Piett replied to SierraHotel's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Thanks for sharing. In one place there was an abrupt change where the sky suddenly became clear. In another, clouds quickly started to appear, and the quickly dissipated a bit later. This could of course be due to settings. -

Has anyone tried the new Key West NAS scenery from SkyDesigners? I was wondering if there is any conflict with ORBX KEYW.

ActiveSky FS Released
Juliett Alfa Romeo replied to DMullert's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
A question on a Twitch stream: "So what's the verdict on active sky for msfs? Is it worth buying or is a scam as a lot of people are saying?" Oh my God... a scam?!? why???? 😑 -

Anyone figure out how to keep settings yet?

I'm a MS Store user on the SU15 beta and no longer suffer from this, as I said above they fixed it about two udates ago. -
Anyone figure out how to keep settings yet?
eslader replied to eslader's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yep, MS Store, not on the beta. I did notice that it keeps the controller profiles, but switches them to default rather than whatever you were running. And this last time it trashed all my graphics settings, set all assistance toggles to easy-mode, and put me back on that stupid tooltip-for-every-control scheme. Interesting about the Xbox store. I'll experiment with that. You'd think if it wasn't finding the cloud saves on the Xbox store it would default to local storage but... -
You say it inject globally, but looking at the map in AS, if you go from a cloudy area to an area with no clouds, you will see the change in the weather. So the weather you see should depend on where you are in the flight.
-
Not sure what you mean. But AS works the same as in P3D and XPL as in injecting a local weather globally. As for the "disc" - I see no disc, weather goes up to the horizon everywhere at crusie.

Navigraph AIRAC Update checker is a resource eater
IanHarrison replied to Ray Proudfoot's topic in Hangar Chat
Ray, Very interesting. I also have it running on my desktop. However, it is using absolutely nothing: CPU, Disk, Network and GPU usage are all nil It is only using 1.3 Mb of memory. The slider was set to 2 hours. Which I have changed to 7 days. -
Does this give you the XP11 effect at cruise where you feel like weather exists only in a disc around your aircraft and nowhere else?
-
Except they didn't. Unlike any other simulator or game on this planet, they actually allowed the base platform to be sold for both professional and entertainment use, which allowed Prepar3D to happen. So playing that old violin shows you don't know how good you had it.
-
This is uh....odd. So a new(er) program? No details at all?
-
I looked at the CPU load with AS running this morning, 0.2%...

SIM Connection Error. Was working fine 2 weeks ago
AJZip replied to AJZip's topic in Pilot2ATC Users Forum
So there you go. Having tried unsuccessfully a number of times and over a few days, including this morning, I repeated my boot up sequence again just...and it's connected! MSFS and Pilot2ATC move in mysterious ways! If it starts playing up again, I'll repost - but otherwise assume it has sorted itself somehow... -
I found my mistake. I've mistyped the txt file. It is working now

Any sim developer can pull the plug at anytime. Y'all need to get over that PTSD because MS gave y'all 27 nonstop years of support before they pulled the plug but that part is always forgotten. Why can't we be optimistic enough to think at least of the next 24 years for a revival of the franchise that is currently making more money than it ever did?

I think Asobo’s SFO is of such poor quality that I doubt I’ll fly there until there’s a payware option. Been spoiled with great 3rd party addons which keeps getting better. Currently got only KSAN, KLAX and KPSP and the west coast, so that’s where I fly. Also got KLAS which is not far away.

Good summation! It doesn't have to appeal to everyone. I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy it, though it's good that there's the option for other people if it meets their wants.

I was very close. Don't do this in real life. 😆 Maybe half a mile. I wasn't able to counteract the roll rate induced by the wake turbulence.

Anyone still bothering with the achievements?
fchamone replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yes, but as you said you can only see the percentage of them, and not some details. For instance, if you have already flown 300 miles flights with several aircrafts, which ones are left to fly to complete the "Jack of All Planes" ? And another example, what about the "Service with a Smile" ? How can I know which services have I already requested and which ones are pending ? Regards, -
1. This is all about your own personal comfort and needs - but yes most people opt for a more comfy headstrap but this can add up with all the various ones you'll find out there to try so first just spend a good amount of time watching videos about them before deciding on 1 or 2 t test out. The other thing which I feel is VERY important to purchase would be a large external battery pack that you would plug into your Quest 3 while you are using it so that you can play for longer periods before having to recharge. The Quest 3 has terrible battery life, especially when playing msfs2020. Youll only get maybe an hour or 90 minutes tops out of the Quest 3 built-in battery...so while you're sitting there in your chair playing you'll want to have an external battery plugged into the headset that will at least double or better your time before needing to shut down and recharge. While there are all sorts of external battery products you can try I prefer one that has alot of mAh (milliamp hours) because the higher that number is the longer the battery will go before needing recharging. Personally I use this battery: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XRJZXKY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which gives me about 4 hours of playtime (it has about 26,000mAh). I place it inside a fanny pack that I wear on a belt around my waste before sitting down (I can also wear it standing up for other games; hence the belted fanny pack idea). Here's a link to my fanny pack: Amazon.com: USHAKE Running Belt with Extender Belt, Bounce Free Pouch Bag, Fanny Pack Workout Belt Sports Waist Pack for Apple iPhone Samsung Note Galaxy in Running Walking Cycling-05BK : Sports & Outdoors I also just started using the BoboVR S3 Pro strap/w B100 battery pack. This is a Halo style headstrap with battery and you can buy extra batteries for it, if you like. I think ach battery is 10,000mAh and will give you maybe 2 hours of sim time plus however long the Q3 battery lasts after that (another 1 hour likely)...so thats maybe 3 hours total sim time with only 1 b100 batt. 2. I use either clear or prescription lens covers from Zenni Optical which easily fit over the Quest3 panacake lenses, and these are what Im actually wiping before/after each use. I simply use a good quality eye glass or digital glass microfiber cloth. I breathe on the lens to add a bit of moisture then wipe. You can also buy a soft padded lens protector that you can place over the lenses for when not in use to protect it from getting scratches and also to make sure that no direct sunlight gets to the lenses when not in use.
