  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed. I was going to ask Aamir that on the Discord, but figured he'd see it soon enough. A Simbrief flight plan should include everything needed (right?), but checking METAR info from the MCDU will likely need a new endpoint for the data.
  3. https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/toolbar-mods.14820/ can help maybe. Or just reinstall. Update works fine for me. EDIT: Also as others said, you might have updated it while it was still running in the background. Always manually close it after closing MSFS. I was a bit sceptical if live weather was better with it, but it totally is. It even kind of "simulates" distant weather fronts. E.g. on my departure airport it was CAVOK and indeed the skies above me were blue, but AS interpolated other data (forecast?) and showed clouds in the far distance beyond the airport. Not a real "front", but dispersed cloud formations. So it can at least make it seem like there's different weather zones in the simulator. I'm lovin' it. Feels like the last good thing missing from P3D times is finally here and I've never been as much as a happy simmer as I am right now.
  4. But you right, this plane is more heavy in frames and fluid as the most others we have - and thats no joke.. cheers 😉
  5. LG OLED..C2 43"..Dont know if its the best, but works great for me...going on two years now..
  6. That happened to me upon update. I had to reboot the PC and then I got the message that there was another session in use and if I wanted to disconnect it. Said yes and the program popped open.
  7. You have to go and run ASutillities manually....same thing happened to me, after updating Flow and AS. AS Addon folder....
  8. Thanks so much for the help charlie, I finally found that thread myself. Tried everything in the post, tried DX9 aaaaand nothing, still those awful lines on the cockpit windows. I think I've hit a dead end and will keep my 748 flying to FS9. Thanks again, much appreciated.
  9. Bummer, I got one good flight out of Active Sky, updated it , and now it will not connect to MSFS, Back to default weather.
  10. And some generic payment issue you had is a weird deflection and has absolutely nothing to do with my point. Prepar3D was the driving force of the flight simulation community for many years, over a decade with hundreds, if not thousands of massive addons and it was literally the foundation for a lot of the community and addons available for MSFS today, the very SDK for MSFS was made so Prepar3D addons could be easily ported over. That was one of their key goals in developing it. Hell, without Prepar3D and its thriving addon community, we probably wouldn't have MSFS today or possibly in a very different form. Microsoft absolutely took note. And that was all possible because Microsoft allowed the ESP platform to be used, instead of just throwing the entire thing to the wayside when they decided to opt out of flight simming. So this 'woe is me' notion that Microsoft flat out abandoned the entire flight simulation community and are the villains, lacks so much nuance and thought it's painful.
  11. Well...well.... https://imgur.com/a/q8Wf399
  12. I didn't think it would look THIS good!!! Absolutely stunning, instabuy for me.
  13. Yes, I hope many others will follow soon. For example it would be nice to get the ASFS (historical) weather in the Fenix too. @Aamir? 😉
  14. I have used the interface of AS for +8 years so to drop in and out of sim is why they properly invented the drop down menu in P3D for a reason. Thanks for the suggestion but i am just trying to improve the experience in sim . Again i havent read the manual 🙂 Michael Moe
  15. This. Or even more immersive you can use the audio ATIS and flightwatch that come with ASFS by just tuning 122.00, 122.02 or 122.05 in your COM.
  16. I could Never get P3D tried using Multiple credit cards to purchase over 5 years and they never worked. emailed support emailed support numerous times regarding this and never got a reply. I know it happened also to others so not everyone had access to P3D
  17. This is something I have noted as well. All through the flight phases the turbulence effects are very well implemented
  18. Turbulence effects are GREAT. Much better than RealTurb. The aircraft is slightly shaking on cruise, like a boat, very smooth and credible. Have not ever seen this kind of turbulence in MSFS (with or without RealTurb). AS is worth it alone for those effects, no matter if you want the actual weather depiction or not.
  19. No, that's all you have to do. Make sure the following: In the WX Control panel in the app, there's a button "Sim Depiction Mode" up at the top - make sure "Active Sky Preset Control" is checked. If that is - check out this thread, someone else had your problem: https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/toolbar-mods.14820/ That said, i use the notoolbarhandle mod too and AS works just fine.
  20. All I want is AS to be my live weather app, I have live weather choosen in AS menu, Am I suppose to turn on something else? When FS is loaded and on< I see the sim connected is on in AS.
  21. I'm sure BATC will do the same, the intergration is extremely easy. Just read a file AS automatically creates and feed it into the app instead of the NOAA data.
  22. The change to flight model in my view are only a slight improvement. Still lots of sideways flying and nearly full rudder deflection needed in turns. Now flies like a c17. I am just not understanding what is going on that after two months we are still here. It’s otherwise such a great aircraft but how do they not know how to make a decent flight model??? I flew the carenado as comparison and while I know they are vastly difftproducts, the flight model is much more convincing(!!!!!!!) and THAT is saying something. After all this wait, I was expecting something that doesn’t feel so ridiculous to fly. I don’t have pc12 experience but I am a real pilot. Back in the hangar for me. Really love everything else about the product but with this flight model I just don’t believe it (different than can I fly it / stomp on rudder to control it and constantly battle ridiculous yaw).
  23. Today
  24. You can just as easily (actually more easily, because you just type the ICAO in) look up METARs in the AS app. I don't find the MSFS toolbar better / more immersive in that regards, it's a big blue thing on your screen. Also the ATIS should be correct in MSFS, because that comes from the actual weather.
