  2. Thanks for replying Raptyr. It turns out there isn't a Win7 driver for the 4060 so I got a RTX 3060 8gb OC coming on Friday. I don't know much about understanding how computer components interact so I ask for advice like yours. I know my mobo is old so it didn't make sense to spend the buck$ on a high spec card. My monitor resolution is 1920x1080. Believe it or not, my old rig was running P3D 4.5 really well with the GTX970. I hope the new GPU does at least as well
  3. the current code (inherited from FSX) reached it maximum potential, can't be modified no more, they still have a lot to simulate (as requested by users, check wish list), for example and not limited to, balloons (hot air effects), space travel, seasons, water and sea/rivers/falls/dirt/mud effects, trains, and so on so forth, I won't be surprised if MSFS 2024 became a free update for current users, the goal is to keep market place pumping.
  4. Unfair!😶 The RAF may have flown it, but it's a US ordered, designed and built aircraft.😛 A better offering (and in the spirit of Asobo often giving us planes with limited production runs), I submit the Supermarine Nighthawk. From the company that gave us the Spitfire came this brute in WWI, which took an hour to reach 10000 feet, it was that low on power! Only one built, unsurprisingly.
  5. I used the program, It worked rather well. The whole problem I have is that I had not known at the time of purchase but after every 6 or 7 times of offline use, you have to go online and renew the activation, which is very troublesome. Plus the fact that I use it in an actual Flight Simulator running off 4 computers and do not connect to the internet unless there is an up date to a program which is very rare. They say all you need do every time is insert the serial# and email address but that rarely works. Im just not going to use it. i fly in fsx and the default 737-800. I hear that FSUIPC may have something that would work, im gonna get into that. Frictionality is a good program but the activation system is rediculous.

  7. Informative article. Highlights that 2x16GB can offer better performance than 4x16GB. More is not always better. As for the amount of RAM MSFS really needs, to say it has to have a minimum of 32GB or 64GB is also not so clear-cut. If you feed Windows and/or MSFS with a ton of memory, it will use it more “frivolously” from time to time because it is there for it to use. Does MSFS need more than 32GB in extreme cases? No. It will run perfectly with 16GB if that’s all you give it. The same with vRAM, MSFS might use more than 16GB if you feed it a RTX4090 with 24GB vRAM but it will run just as well with 16GB vRAM. Windows will just manage and use what it is given. Some 4090 owners say they have seen their vRAM exceed 16GB in the sim, justifying its value. In that exact same scenario a 16GB GPU would perform with the exact same performance and have some GB free as Windows and GPU are simply able to be less strict on how it manages memory when it has it in bucketloads.
  8. Report the problem with full details in tje P3D Forum.... Jorge
  9. MSFS2024 777 MAX A319/A321 + much much more what a year for Flightsimming.
  10. I totally agree! Toooo many airbuses. I can't believe they would hold up a SU because of an airbus, when we have several already. To hold up the SU is holding up other releases from some really cool developers, which I really don't think is fair, especially to those of us who can't stand the airbuses (boeing pilot here, sorry). I want the DUKE, not an Airbus!!!😆
  11. Doesn't do it for me, shouldn't have to, when previously full screen could be saved in settings.
  12. Seems a nice system! What are the specs of the MSI motherboard? Does it have PCIe5 support to help with future proofing? The only thing I would change (purely a personal opinion) is the monitor. I don’t think a single wide view monitor works particularly well in the sim. A conventional 6:9 ratio 32 inch 4K gives you a far better field of view at a natural eye-view angle to zoom ratio. A wide view gives great left right perspective, if a little distorted on the periphery, but rather poor up-down view unless you zoom out but then the angles are unnatural and distorted. There are some YouTube videos that highlight/demonstrate what I am saying here. A monitor should simulate your real world vision. Humans are not bug-eyed.😁
  13. I think for commercial flights you're to enter your flight number, like 345 so that ATC refers to you as Ryanair 345.
  14. Quite agree. I don't think CS will be the least bit worried by my mine or anyone else's negativity toward their products or marketing approach. Ably assisted by the MS market place, CS appear to be targeting and quite successfully reaching a newer cadre of simmers who have a different perspective of flight simulation. That cadre specifically enjoy three dimensional freedom of movement across a a globally accurate and diverse scenery and landscape while often using an external POV and/or connected with multiplayer. To this end, they require control simplicity and 'external POV friendly' flight models that don't require too much attention to keep flying and, the 'prettier' the better . Complexity, 'study level' and true to life flight models that require handling skills, are not much use. As you allude to, earlier flight simulators were not blessed with the visuals and activities of MSFS and so I suspect those most interested in the pursuit of flight simulation did so from a more technical perspective. For better or worse MSFS has really turned that upside down. As the old adage goes, and with out referring to one perspective or the other, "one mans rubbish, is another mans treasure"! Of course it is not binary and there is lots in between. Fortunately our developers to continue to amaze all of us with their offerings.
  15. Yes, it seems that with all the delays to SU15, the roadmap has changed and SU16 has been pushed to next year. SU15 is basically the end of the line for 2020.
  16. The only issue I have with FG is the need to use DX12 as for the past month or sowith DX12 I get system freezes - sound continues but the sim is unresponsive. I don't experience this with DX11. Most unfortunate as otherwise FG had been a game changer for me. Bruce
  17. If using RGB fans, can be useful for controlling RGB on all fans (matching or synchronous colours) assuming the rear fan hub is an RGB one. It does help keep the front side neater. Downside is that all the fans connected to it are usually controlled as one. That means you cannot set individual fan speed curves for those fans. If plugged into separate headers on the m/board you have more control. That’s because the UEFI BIOS sees the rear fan hub as a single fan, Also nothing wrong with using the rear hub for some fans and the front board connectors for others. Always a good idea to connect CPU and water pump fans to their dedicated front side connectors regardless.
  18. Inibuilds have a good rep for aircraft , just because they don't take years like a certain other developer does not mean it will be bad quality.
  19. Hi, congrats on your release of your wx add-on! It looks nice and has some interesting features. The more 3rd party weather development for MSFS, the better, for everyone! Looking forward to your progress.
  20. I was just about to say the same thing. I keep mine at 70, and everything looks perfect. I'm running at 4K Ultra, TAA, with FG on. The sim couldn't look or run better!
  21. ...🙂...You may deny but I do recall having caught (eh...I mean seen) you fly the B787 once...🙂... Actually, you have flown the Corporate Big Boy Jets a bit more often...This is a fine set here ...!
  22. Cannot be harder than that of my teenager, Todd....🙂.... while waiting for any Amazon package of his.... literally tracking to the next block and next street corner on the phone...until it arrives...🙂... You'll have fun installing MSFS and your planes, fresh, on the brand-new computer...Cheers ...!
  23. I think it can be the hacking software, because the native frame generator (for the 4000 series) doesn’t do that.
  24. Thanks for supporting CS, pmplayer...Sad that they have fallen into this state of disrespect... I have fond memories of their glory days, as you too mention FSX...I was spending considerable times on their forum at one point...was part of their gradual (stepwise) releases of 737 Legacy Series... Their 727/737/707/757/767 were SIMs of great fun and miss them much...hope they bring those back to us in the MSFS...within our lifetimes...🙂...we'll see...
  25. I kind of like to be surprised by FSHud with the STAR and approach assignment but yes, being able to see it in the interface for whenever I want to would be a cool feature! Even though FSHud usually is always on time with the assignment. (I also like the timely announcement of the approach, including transition: not something every ATC addon does.)
