Thanks. I was assuming it. At the moment I'm preparing a flight and closed SF 😊. I foregot to mention bevore: Federico was of great help for me getting EF the way I wanted. I'm not a good tweaker 😂. Regards, Robert

Hello Reader, Good idea, thanks but I no luck there either. Eric

    P3d and updates

No, you don't have to pay for the updates. You may have to occasionally upgrade 3rd party add-ons after major updates though, usually for a discount. EDIT: I've only had P3d since 4.4, so I wasn't aware that you pay for updates for new versions. How much are these (i.e. V5?)

    P3d and updates

You only have to pay for major upgrades. If you buy 4.5, then, if there is a 4.6 released it would be free. If the next rlease is V5, then you buy again. Hope this helps Stu
  6. Thanks lol. Not only was this my first repaint but I am learning to use Photoshop at the same time so it made it even harder. Don't know what problem your having with the Md-11 but don't give up as I'm sure you will figure it out eventually.

    Water lapping sounds in floatplanes

Thanks very much for all your replies: I did actually have a go at finding a wav file from another aircraft which had water lapping sounds and modified the sound.cfg as per your example Charlie - and it worked! Fantastic. Thanks very much!
  8. Hi, I am building an i9 system that will power 3 4K projectors in a large cockpit setup using P3D v4.5 For performance needs would I be better off with 2 2080tis in SLI or a single Titan?

    P3d and updates

Maybe a stupid question,i'm going to change from FSX to P3d,but do you have to pay for every update of P3d. Thanks Peter
  10. It's worth it IMHO. If you can also stretch to buying the Cloud Shadows add-on then that is great for increasing the immersion in the sim!

    Bob Scott's Promotion

Aye! Not the best of times, but congratulations Bob.
  12. Agreed. Thats why I mentioned a use case where the high refresh would be beneficial. Personally, unless it was a very small price difference, I wouldn't pay the extra as it doesn't really suit my use cases.

    Gold Braniff Service To Quito

Superb! Braniff always were on for striking, simple liveries.
  14. As part of the Treviso - Dubrovnik flight I made a short tutorial for noobs like me on how to add your own waypoints to the flight plan.

Jim, First, thank you for all the time you've dedicated to sustaining AVSIM over the years; like many here, this is one of the very rare sites I check ever day. Secondly, thank you for being fair; I've ask for readdress on a few occasions and always found your responses to be equitable, even if I didn't get 'my own way.' Finally, I have no doubts you'll kick cancer's azz; you simply don't seem like someone who gives in/up easily. Good luck and please continue to let us know if you need anything and how you're doing. Get em, sir!
  16. Should have been Lamborghini IMHO! Actually, well done! I dabbled in doing a paint job on a freeware A380 and the outlines around the cabin doors is shaky and there's plenty of jagged bits. You have fared far better. (I'm having very little success trying to repaint an MD11 sadly)

Some confusion here: once it's GPU, next it's CPU?

I simply cannot believe all of the well wishes I have received concerning my cancer. It is great to know I have several members watching my back as I continue to go through the treatments for my lung cancer. I am taking two Chemo and one Keytruda treatment every three weeks. On my third treatment. I want to thank everyone for your kind comments and prayers for my recovery. This is what makes the Flight Simulation Community so special. We all care for one another. Best regards, Jim

Have no idea what FTX SGE is. I don't own anything but 2 products from ORBX: Trees HD and LOWI. Here you can find a older discussion related to my Q but again it's related to an older product...

Unless you are using the REX weather engine you don't need to run SF in the back ground. Just EF if you are using any third party weather engine. 😊

I changed my oppinion. I'm still using 4.4 with Active Sky, SF and EF running. I have SF running but I am not sure if it's still needed. I need it for Textures anyway. PTA running with Active Sky and EF and SF messed it all up. EF and PTA at the same time is not a good choice. One or the other. I stick with EF as for now. It just has more possibilities when in flight. Just my 50 cts 😉. Regards, Robert

Maury, Thanks for your comments. I suspect you were on Keytruda which is one of the treatments I am receiving. Glad you survived your ordeal! Best regards, Jim
