    Drzewiecki releases Chicago Airports X

I purchased city & airports. So far not so good for me (why did I have to get sucked into VR - cant go back to monitor now). I did some circuits around the city with PMDG 747/777 & performance seemed to be acceptable at first. Last night I tried to fly MSP-ORD with Leonardo MD80 & got CTD with terrain.dll error when entering city area. Did some more testing with MD this morning & was getting a lot of jumping & stutters. Also I get some aircraft bouncing on the ground at ORD which is usually pointing to mesh complexity... I have mine dialed back to avoid that problem. Really want to get this package running decently in VR.
  3. I am totally looking forward to a product like Traffic Global for X-Plane.

    xEnviro 1.10 in Beta

Even though I fly VR most of the time, if this product is as good as the screenshots depict AND they truly do work on delivering in VR, then I will likely get it anyway myself. I do hope they can bring this to VR, especially when they bring forward season technology. This really would be excellent in VR.

JustFlight Mosquito - gun in roof of canopy

Check the instructions, it actually works. You have to load a flare from the rack before you can fire it.

FB's KDEN dynamic lightning improved in 4.5

No, I'm serious. For example, taxiing over to 34L from Terminal B, I'd have DL only looking in a certain direction in an angle, now it doesn't go away all the way.

    Flightbeam KDEN New Update

As a bit of an aside, does anyone know if they announced that they will be updating terminal 1 at KSFO?

That's a Very Pistol, it's (typically) for signalling the ground when returning from a night raid. Crews would be pre-briefed on which colour flare to respond with for a given colour of the day, this being to avoid spoofing since the answer colour would not be the same as the query colour. So, the ground would fire a specific coloured flare, the returning aircraft would then need to respond with the correct answer colour, and if it did so, the defences would know it was a friendly aircraft as a result of a correct answering colour and then not open fire on it. It was common on PFF (pathfinder force) target marker aeroplanes.
  11. So does that dynamic lightning only appear during thunderstorms? πŸ˜‰
  12. They haven't updated their scenery yet, to the best of my knowledge. So it would be just 4.5 improvements I guess. There is/was some mention of them releasing a SODE update soon. I would take that as Soontm πŸ˜†

    What a Premier!

"I usually add one payware title a month..."...That would require permission for me from the higher authorities...depending on cost....πŸ™‚....but, seriously, glad you're enjoying both the SIMs, along with some perspective from real flight...that many of us here (me included) don't have... Beautiful plane here (could pass for a Citation) and also beautiful pictures...and, the plane's interior exudes plush and luxury, from what I can tell...!

Nothing in there says it’ll be released in a week or so.

    CTD With Orbx scenery/Prepar3d 4.5

Ok I follow. So is there a way to check to see if this is the case? I also came up with a thought could the EU England be conflicting with TE GB South since things being displayed in the south of the UK would be duplicated? Jason
  20. I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you talking about tracking exposed to direct sunlight?
  21. The YS-11 by NAMC (Nihon Aeroplane Manufacturing Company) was a 1960s turboprop (60-seater) aircraft that was the only true Japanese entry into commercial aviation. It was built by a joint venture of five (or so) companies that included: (Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Fuji) heavy industries. BTW, all these three companies have played a role, more recently, in the production of B787. One of the primary designers of YS-11 was Jiro Horikoshi, who was responsible for the famous WW II fighter, A6M Zero. The YS-11 can be said to consist of, "U.S. Parts + British Engines + Japanese Assembly" e.g. the aluminum was from ALCOA, the landing gear from Goodyear, and of course the Rolls-Royce engines were British. It was a highly capable (and well-liked) aircraft, known for its superior performance (and capacity) in hot and high (short-runway) conditions of the time. It even broke through to the U.S. market for Piedmont Airlines. β€œWe searched the world over for a plane which would operate safely in and out of small, mountainous airports,” had said, president of the company. β€œThe YS-11 was the only one we could find which would do it on an economical basis.” Piedmont officials had said the YS-11 had the best power weight ratio β€” it could lift more weight out of the (Appalachian) mountain airports than any American (Convair was one of the primary competitors) or other plane they could find. YS-11's advantage came because of the state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce Turboprop (Dart) engines - the same ones that had powered the Vickers Viscount. However, there was just one place where the Japanese engineers miscalculated; their error, which they fixed soon, was anatomical rather than mechanical: the first planes had seats (built to Japanese standards) were too narrow (and too hard) for American consumers... The livery, I've selected to fly here, is for SWAL (Southwest Air Lines - not to be confused with the U.S. (low-cost) carrier Southwest Airlines). This Southwest Air Lines had operated domestic services, in Japan, since 1967. It changed its name to JTA (Japan Transocean Air) in July 1993, is now majority-owned by JAL (Japan Airlines), and no longer flies any YS-11. For scenery, I've fallen back to one of my least-used (Orbx) add-ons, the Wales, for a dusk flight, north to south on the western part of the country, mostly across rolling hills, from Warton Aerodrome (EGNO) to Cardiff Airport (EGFF). One interesting observation: On approach to Cardiff, in one of the shots, you can locate the (coal-powered) Aberthaw Power Station, a prominent landmark on the South Wales coast (initially I thought it was a Nuclear Power Station). Thanks for viewing these images of this (SIM) plane, may not be high-fidelity, but certainly unique in its own right. [Aerosim(YS-11)/Orbx(Wales)/REX]
  22. Looks like it will be released in a week or so. See here. Scroll all the way to the last post. Have a good Memorial Day!

    Flysimware next project 2019

Instant purchase from me if it's a 414. I really hope we have the option to add/remove winglets and the option to use the G500/600 units from Flight1. πŸ™‚ Can't wait to see what Mr. Bacon will do to the textures too. FSW is going to be the industry leader very soon.
  26. Can anyone help us figure out what this is ?
  27. Not sure if a cargo MD-11 does Louisville to Tokyo Narita in one hop, but this is the sim, and the specs say she has the range...
