  2. The real photo is actually a flat cloud layer with a turbulent bottom. My second comment is ActiveSky for MSFS has been released for ONE DAY!
  3. I can understand the reasons why it runs behind the scenes as it can tell the user when an update is due. But Aivlasoft’s EFB does that on another computer. So I don’t really need the reminder app running irrespective of how much resource it uses.
  4. My experience with the different Navigraph Apps is that they are to aggressive/ invasive. For example Simlink installs and adds itself to "Startup Apps" under Task Manager. If you elect NOT to start the simlink app when Windows starts it does not obey that choice. Closing simlink after my Sim session was done always left simlink running in the background. The Navigraph FMC Data manager always wants to run in the background. I just decided to uninstall it and download each AIRAC for my different addons manually. This was maybe a year ago and maybe the behavior changed with an update.
  5. Developers start to embrace ASFS. FSHud has just released a new Beta version with ASFS integration. So now FSHud can be used with ASFS weather - which includes historical weather. Great! Who's next?
  6. Good grief, this is far from the truth, IF the manual has been read and the settings set to your personal preference.
  7. Cloud turbulence will be in FS20 in the default live weather.
  8. All right I will give that a try. For Firefox, Legibility extension makes for easy resizing text display of any webpage with sliders. You can see the size of the text change as you move the sliders.

  10. You're good to go. MSFS will still store in the cloud from now on as usual. It only used local data for that one startup. And made the cloud data the same as what your local was.
  11. I'll check for those situations, and if I find any, I'll take a look. Otherwise I'll list what doesn't work. Thanks for the really quick response.
  12. Try: ClipGrab - Free YouTube Downloader & Converter ClipGrab is a free downloader and converter for YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook and many other online video sites. It converts downloaded videos to MPEG4, MP3 or other formats in just one easy step If I remember correctly, I started using ClipGrab after reading an article in PC Magazine or PC World magazine.
  13. Sounds weird. I have the HC Throttle too, but I don't have any problems with it. Could it depend on what is assigned to the switches? Any specific examples? There are so many options of what can be assigned, and most assignments can be done in multiple different ways. It is absolutely impossible to give any generic advice, sorry. Make sure to blacklist all other hardware in AAO, so it can't interfere with the items that you do want to use (Hardware->Device Blacklist). Also, make sure that nothing else interferes, most importantly the simulator itself. You can only assign the same "thing" either in MSFS or in AAO, but not in both at the same time.
  14. I recently purchased AAO, and I really couldn't be happier with all the options that have been opened up to me. I've been able to resolve all the restrictions that MSFS has created for handling my planes, so it's been a great find, well worth the cost. I do have a question though. I have a Honeycomb Yoke and Throttle, and they've been working fine with MSFS and AAO, but I do have an odd situation. About a fifth of the time when I turn a switch, the first time I do it, the action doesn't happen. That might be activating a light or turning a switch in the cockpit. The second time I try it, the action always works. I'm not sure what I can do from here, but I'd be glad to help troubleshoot what might be causing this because otherwise, this is an incredible tool, and I know I've only scratched the surface of what it can do. Thanks!
  15. I upgraded as that was the only option available. Free which makes a nice change. 😁 The laptop is not used for anything heavy. Ai Companion for my P3D flights plus PFPX / TopCat. it’s fine in all other respects.
  16. I have a working theory about this. I believe that there is a bug in the software, such that when the plane rotates, the trim freezes in it's last position. I find that I can trim nose down and it has zero effect. My work around, has been to engage the AP right after takeoff, get the aircraft stable and then disengage the AP to hand fly whatever portion of the STAR I want. In any event, I believe the takeoff flight dynamics should be the very first thing that Horizon tackles.
  17. Only REX as I’m yet to purchase AS. But since the price is less than a pizza delivery I’ll get it and do some in-depth comparisons when I have the time.
  18. Pilot2ATC runs on your PC and relies on FSUIPC7 to connect to MSFS. Occasionally, MSFS makes changes that FSUIPC7 can't handle, which could cause P2A to not be able to connect. Usually, the issue is that FSUIPC7 did not start correctly, or MSFS is not fully loaded and ready to fly. Only then will it be transmitting the data needed by P2A through FSUIPC7. The "Aircraft Position Not Found" error is almost always a situation where MSFS is not fully loading and transmitting data about your aircraft. Since MSFS doesn't allow you to run it without doing their updates, you can't really stop from installing updates that have issues. Dave
  19. Just watched about 1hr of Q8’s stream. He seemed pretty certain that AS was the cause of his weird Fenix issues. Not convinced, as he seemed to still have some issues after he quit AS. “Looks like the culprit was most certainly AS” “It's seems that Active Sky has created all sort of problems”
  20. It's sad and awful because many people follow and take into account the opinions of these guys. I can understand that for many ASFS doesn't make sense because they use VATSIM weather or think that MeteoBlue's "live" weather results are good enough, but... scam?
  21. Thanks for answering!! I will give AS a try, since I have only good memories about it from years long gone 🙂
  22. Amen! When I was beta testing I saw a bit of the cumulus clouds boiling and morphing. Reminded me of my old flying days with bright blue skies and brilliant white cumulus and they were moving and changing shape as I went by. Beautiful but deadly.
