    Install on P3D V4.4

Hi, Being a former customer of 777 FS2Crew for FSX, I bought the new version FS2Crew PMDG 777 P3D64.exe Order #86164 I have P3D V4.4 After launching the installer, it says "FS2Crew must be installed in your FSX (!!!) Root Folder". (I don't have FSX on my computer). I then designated: D:\Simulators\Prepar3D v4 Then the program says : PMDG 777 not installed (while the PMDG 777 is installed and works correctly

It has been brought to my attention (thanks Mike) that the MROC link I provided in the original post is actually an update for a scenery that doesn't now exist, so sorry if I sent you on a wild goose chase. I hadn't spotted that it wasn't one of Fernando Angel Gonzalez's sceneries. We'll just use default MROC instead, as that was the only freeware offering.
  5. What’s your opinion of gsx L2?....I don’t know if word not aloud is a good word or a bad word lol...
  6. Got my Rift S now and I've had a chance to test it out on the stuff I use VR for, which is P3D, First Person Tennis and Elite Dangerous. I'm not going to write a long review, I have nothing to add to what has already been said above by numerous other users except to confirm I am very happy. Clarity, image quality, tracking, IPD - all good, no issues for me. I can note thought, that even without supersampling the image clarity in a PMDG bird in P3D is better than the original Rift no matter how much I supersampled. I now use 1.2 which translates into performance gains compared to 1.7 that I used with the CV1.

Its my understanding that FSX ATC does not communicate with any third party add on. I also consider it to be the most flaky part of FSX and I haven't t used it for any navigation for about 10 years.
  8. Hello, Just purchased this card, and thinking about the install process. I currently have a stable system with my 1060 6GB w 388.13 drivers. I like to change only 1 aspect of the system at a time to minimize possible issues and help chase problems, if necessary. Thoughts.... would it be better to upgrade the drivers first, and then ensure the system is stable with the new drivers, before putting in the new card or install the new card first, while keeping the drivers at 388.13. Hoping to heats others’ preferences & experiences. Mike
  9. Hello armchair_pilot, it's been a while since my previous post. I haven't been busy with the development of the software for a while since I am busy developing electronics for Prepar3d. I will continue development of the charts program later on, but I want to finish the electronics first.
  10. As far as I'm aware, and I may be wrong, but I believe the only way the FO will do anything is if you ask for a specific flow or procedure...I don't know if you can do it just based off of the config of the aircraft.
  11. For some reason, none of the flows I have installed in the MCE folder and copied in the documents folder appear when running MCE. Default ones btw. I have had MCE for quite some time, but I reinstalled for P3D so something went wrong when I reinstalled MCE.
  12. Doah... thats a shame. I had a similar problem with the Augusta EH101v2 by David Robles, everything worked "but no instruments are displayed in the glass cockpit.". turns out they may not be compatible with P3D because the EH101v2 was made for FSX-Acc, unlike the QW757. Good luck, I hope you manage to get it to work, I am interested so please post back if you find a solution.

ASP4 SF (set up options and ever open again) EF in Auto mode. That should be it. If you fly the FSL I surgest you turn p3D HDR OFF this way you get proper green lights for the FD/LS etc. Run with that for a week or so and see if you need anything else.

    Hi everyone

Welcome aboard Gan! I just spent some time in Italy, Florence and Rome, over the holidays and enjoyed it so much I’m going back this Christmas as well. Have also spent a fair amount of time in Barcelona as well and enjoyed it immensely. Enjoy your stay at Avsim, I’m sure you’ll learn a lot and have a good time.

    Drzewiecki releases Chicago Airports X

I'm happy the soon to be runway is already in the scenery. It will avoid th scenery be outdated in 6 months once it is finished. It is easier to ignore a runway beeing built than having it missing for the next 4 years, just like what previously happened on ORD sceneries.

Why would EF effect frame rates at all?

I used time-lapse to show the light on the clouds. But you get this effect if you look around the scene and can see where the sunlight is coming from with how the clouds are lit. So in a way, this does not show the scene but a snapshot of what happens if you look around it. Sun behind my aircraft. Sun directly onto clouds Sun behind the clouds Sun just above the clouds. But after trying HDR ON in P3D and OFF for the FSL it is staying OFF.
  23. I don't see what you base your comment on. I've seen no such degradation from having many thousands of dollars of add-ons installed over time I built my Flight Sim PC more than 5 years ago. I run P3D on bare bones Win7 x64 across 3 dedicated 1TB SSD drives with almost no other software loaded. Hardware is Asus Z97 Deluxe, i7-4790K OC'd to 4.67Ghz on all cores, 32GB DDR3-2333 ram, GTX-1080ti SC2 11GB (also mildly OC'd), and 6 "Joystick" input devices. I have all ORBX products except TE GB South loaded at once, about 20 USA states of MegaSceneryEarth, plus a ton of other add-ons like Ultimate Traffic Live, ASP4/ASCA, RXP GNS & GTN, ChasePlane/TrackIR, PrecipFX, FSUIPC, Loads of aircraft including a few A2A Accu-Sim, Most PMDG, Flight1, many Milviz, Majestic Dash8 Q400 Pro, and others, FS2Crew for all PMDG and MJD8Q400, Accu-Feel, Around 100 non-ORBX airports (half of them freeware), All Drzewiecki Design regions/products, GSX Ground Services X Level 2 (which is word not allowed BTW), FS Global Ultimate - Next Generation mesh, WX Advantage Radar, Navigraph updates & fsAerodata, and probably a few other I forget. All of this is loaded at once and I often run Little NavMap on another monitor and Foobar2000 simultaneously playing music on the same 7.2.2 home theater system I run p3D on. That's about as much as you can currently put on one system and it's very flyable. I run with most sliders to maximum in most regions. I cut back autogen to half in others. I run P3D on a single 4K monitor and get 18-65fps depending. This is about the same performance I got with very few add-ons. P3Dv4 runs great if you are running all legit software. I rarely have crashes. I would never risk any hackware even just to try a product, lest it wrecks the enormous amount of work it took to put all this together. I just added a bunch (about 30) of Return to Misty Moorings (RTMM) sceneries as well as Tongass Fjords X a couple days ago. Performance is still excellent. I firmly believe I could load another full suite of ORBX and still maintain the same performance. Gone are the days of 32bit OOM issues. P3D intelligently loads only relevant scenery for the region you are currently flying. You can grow this platform to an enormous scale. I only expect that P3D 5.0 will be even better. The way P3D is designed I don't think it has any upper limit of how much scenery it can manage. What impact performance is only the local scenery where you are currently flying and add-ons like weather, traffic,, and some higher end aircraft. Most addons have little to no impact that I could ever see. Except for a few poorly made overdone airports on the market that can really slam FPS. Autogen can be a killer too if mixed with very complex scenery, but only while you are flying in a complex scenery area. I never reach my memory limits on my MB or on my GPU. I rarely see my CPU or GPU max out either. The main factor for running P3D smoothly today is a decent GPU and getting your CPU cores to the maximum speed you can. This is why a 5+ year old 4-core i7-4790K overclocked to 4.67Ghz on all cores is pretty much as good as the latest CPUs running at 5Ghz or so. And the 1080ti is still the best card for P3D v4.5. I found almost no difference in FPS running in 4K vs 1080p. In 4k there is also little to no need for anti-aliasing, thus reducing GPU workload. Try as I might, I can find no justification to build a newer top of the line PC. ORBX can keep right on designing new P3D sceneries, and as long as I am still alive I will keep buying them. BTW, did you ever wonder why ORBX removed the ability from FTX Central to load only limited regions at once? Because it doesn't matter anymore. Keep flying and enjoy. There is no wall coming that will limit your fun. I continue to be blown away by the size of this community, which is what makes it possible to have such a great platform and great add-ons. When I think back to when I flew MSFS 1.0 I find it very difficult to complain about anything in the current flight sim world. I never imagined we would have it so good.
  24. Let me stop you right there. There are a lot of ORBX developers inside the LM beta testing team (they have one of the largest amount of members), it is their responsibility to test their products and provide feedback to LM engineers. Interesting enough I don't see any of them making any reference to problems with TE GB, TE Netherlands, Germany regions, etc. Via the LM beta forums. It was Rob Ainscough (who doesn't work for ORBX or LM) who performed intense testing using these regions and reported back hard evidence and data, which was useful to produce the Hotfix you and many others are enjoying. But quite frankly, it is not the responsibility of Rob A., Me or anyone else in the beta team to ensure ORBX products are working correctly with any version of P3D. That is why ORBX belongs to the beta team, to do their own bloody tests, and it is a shame other members of the beta team had to step in to provide feedback on their behalf for their own products. Regards, Simbol
  25. Hi guys, is there anybody that have the B58 performance file for Little Navmap, it would also be great to upload it into the main performance data folder. Thank you very much!

    30% GPU and 30%CPU ?

Prepar3d 4.5 is running ok on my system, most settings are high or even max, and I get around 30fps at even busy airports. If I lower any details, frame rate goes up accordingly. But still, I can't help wondering, why both my CPU and my GPU only use around 30% of their maximum. I have an Asus Z87K motherboard, i7-4770K cpu, EVGA RTX2070 XC gpu, and 24GB 2133speed ram. Could it be that the ram is too slow or the cpu throttling back due to temperature - (it does often go into the 80s)? I don't want to spend hours agonizing over it as it runs ok, but just wondered if anyone can suggest any other reason.
