This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. Just noticed "wake turbulence" as a setting - does that really create wake turbulence from AI aircraft (or VATSIM aircraft)? Even depending on the type of aircraft (heavy etc.)? That would be awesome!
  3. The update rate can be turned down so the transition happens over a longer period. I find the poor live weather clouds more of an immersion killer than slow transitions.
  4. If you care to have the most recent live weather, you can reduce the download interval to 15 minutes. It will mean more often transitions, though. So you might want to keep an eye on the transition depiction speed (potentially lowering it if you start "noticing" them).
  5. No. I've only done one flight so far, but no performance impact. I've seen some very short occasional stutters during this flight, could be AS injecting weather, or could have been the urban area of Sao Paolo (which has a bazillion of buildings) slowly loading in. Since the weather visuals are MSFS technology, performance impact should be the same or even better for AS (since MSFS default always creates those high performance impact volcanic ash clouds all the time...).
  6. just pruchased ,i am very pleased with it . Default settings ATM any of you recommend any settings to be changed?lowered etc? thanks Mike
  7. No, it's not snowing and it doesn't look like dirt. It's just weird I have to look through these light diagonal lines and not being able to remove them. I'll check the texture cfg. suggestion. Thanks for the input!
  8. No, they are built up within visual sight. That's what transitions are for, so you don't notice them building up within your sight. In other words: If a new weather is detected by AS, it will slowly transition the current scene to the new weather scene. Beyond visual range is only possible with MSFS default live weather, because they have a local weather model.
  9. Flat clouds exist in real world, so I'm not sure why you call them 'cartoonish'. No single weather engine is going to produce the exact sky you will see in reality. I love xEnviro because it can produce some amazing skies, but not 100 percent of the time. REX is also excellent, but not 100 percent of the time. MSFS live weather can be great, but it can also produce quite silly looking skies at times. Active sky has been released just a single day and you come straight in with criticism of one sky at one place.
  10. No worries, I understand. I'll just have to use the old-fashioned way to calculate my own TOD. 🙂
  11. I really think there should have been some 7 days trial or something... so many questions...
  12. The notification never offered me these boxes. However, I entered my Steam Library, and from there I got a similar box as the one you described. I just set it to use local data and MSFS stopped reporting this error.
  13. Does anyone see any performance impact? Flight1 no longer has the 30-day refund option so that I could check for myself.
  14. Indie developer Ken Hall has recently released his second batch of PNG airstrips. They are available at the ORBX site and are a fantastic way to bring this remote part of the world to life. Susi Air of course does not fly in this part of Papua, but I like the livery, so I was able to convince them to transfer one of their Pilatus planes, which usually operates in the Indonesian part of Papua 🙂 Climb, baby, climb Flying along Papua’s eastern shore. In the distance you can see Umboi Island Over Yalumet. No other plane blocks the runway Thanks for viewing
  15. This is going to hurt the wallet a bit more soon! This guy never sleeps, his Oslo scenery hit the market today and here he goes with EDDF nearing completion!
  16. Ah, a glass is empty observation, on a positive thread.
  17. Its good at the moment but I'm still very optimistic with Microsoft , they pulled the plug and abandoned us once and I feel they will do it again eventually
  18. First think you must do is to change the strap. There are many options available on ebay or amazon. The most advertised is BoboVR or so. Like in the post above. But It might be pricy. What I did, i just ordered the similar strap from Aliexpress which cost much less and I am happy about it now. You don;t need the strap with batteries for sure. At least for myself. What I do, I fire up the sim, fly for a certain amount of time and when I am at cruising level, I just put the headset and plug into the socket to charge (in the headset settings must set the sleeping option for 2 or 4h). Or you can buy a longer type C cable and just plug it into the socket and the headset. Thus it will be charging while you flying. Very simple 🙂 Regarding cleaning the lenses, I just use the silk cloth from my sunglasses But I don;t clean often....
  19. Cheers PMP! Take a visit - it's well worth it. I spent 3 or 4 hours pootling around on this jaunt, and took loads of shots that I'll never post here (just various nothing special ground level shots). Even with dodgy PG it's a tremendously fine area to explore. Thanks Bernd! Never did make it dahn under in real life, and that certainly won't be happening now (unless they come up with the whole "beam me up Scotty" thing in the next couple of years). It might sound sad to some folk, but with this sim and my setup I really do feel like I'm actually visiting these places. I had plenty of real travel time back in the day, but wild horses couldn't drag me to a real airport and on to a real plane nowadays. Been there, done way too much of that. Sitting on a plane is just no fun and not interesting, and I find that to be true in the sim as well. I have just been building a sort of "cockpit" setup using my previous sim PC and a load of spare/unused bits and pieces, but I'm not actually convinced it will get that much use. Sitting in the cockpit in the sim is close to as boring as sitting in cattle class in real life for me, but we'll see. I had 95% of what I needed to build it so I figured I might as well. But trips like this are what do it for me, sim-wise. As you can tell, I just love to explore down at pixel ground level, and there are ever more bits of scenery coming along that make that ever more rewarding.
  20. For some time my Dell laptop (i5-8300H 2.3Ghz) has been very sluggish when I've been using PFPX to generate flight plans. It was frustrating as I couldn't work out what the cause was. Yesterday I found the culprit. NGFMSAgent.exe running to advise of updates to their AIRAC updates. It was easily the most demanding executable in Task Manager. But why? I had already installed the latest AIRAC data. Looking at settings I had the Notification slider at 6 hours. I'm not sure why I would need it to check that often especially when Aivlasoft's EFB show a warning when a new cycle is required. So I've stopped this program running at Windows startup and PFPX (plus everything else probably) is now much better with no pauses or apparent lockups. If you have a FMS Data subscription maybe consider stopping it running continuously which doesn't seem logical.
  21. Today
  22. So just so i will understand, if i will set it to 10 minutes, i will see it slowly slowly building up ? Meaning that by the time they finished building up i already passed them ? i was sure the main point is for them to build up when beyond visual sight
  23. Not much used to MSFS depicts clouds, I'm a Prepar3d flyer that can not live with the MSFS clouds depictions. I'm talking about flat clouds, only depicted by ASFS while comparing with actual real phisical true sky in the same place. Out of my window I have shot the real sky and I'm not seeing a flat low density single layer of clouds like are depicting in LEMI ASFS now. Regards and thank you for reading my post 😉
  24. Hm strange. No stability issues for me at all.
