How do I Accomplish a Clean Install?
abrams_tank replied to Cavemanhead's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
What RaptyrOne said. Make sure neither of you are on the beta version. It sounds like your son is on the beta version (Sim Update 15), and you are on the normal version (Sim Update 14). -
Fine set ! cheers 😉

Hi, I own both and is there a way to toggle between PMS and TDS? Maybe using AddonsLinker? -
Nice shots!

Poll: Graphic Artifacts with Nvidia RTX 40x DLSS Frame Gen
Noel replied to Noel's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
120Hz, native 30fps x 2 = 60fpsFG, RTSS front edge sync, G-Sync I had it at 100 which I think is default then moved it to 200 a good while back as I thought it made image quality sharper and never gave it a 2nd thought. I tried it on and off a couple of times in a couple of scenarios today and clearly 200 make these artifacts worsen. Maybe 100 is okay I will check. I just restarted MSFS and did a quick acid test at KDEN aiming east shortly after sunrise in clear skies in the PMDG 738 and see if it's still good: pretty good flicker out the side but better than w/ AMD FidelityFX at 200! That type of lighting brings it out the most but easy enough to make anything else active and the flicker disappears. For example I can click on my 2nd screen, or any app that can steal the show in front of MSFS will stop the flicker and it's softened enough to where only the worst lighting brings it out, and the glass cockpit and FMC are solid now. It is very nice to put the base rate all the way down to 30 this really gives some headroom and it shows in terms of freedom from even rare stutters. And CPU temps stays nice as well. Cheers -
Haha - I was hoping for 42kts but arrived a bit too late! I tend to test everything to the limits, including my own capabilities 😜 In the previous flight I actually committed virtual suicide in the Aleutian Islands in the Turbo Arrow as I got lost in IMC low vis in icing conditions and lost visual contact with the airport. The only available navaid was an NBD station, but I didn’t get a signal… so I was flying around aimlessly in the fog with ice building up on the windshield… I’ll keep the screenshot limit in mind.

I don't understand your point here... I work for neither Boeing nor Airbus, and never claimed to? As it was my airline that experienced the door plug failure, I've followed the situation... But I know very little that isn't already public knowledge. The NTSB discussed the commonality of this part in one of their daily briefings during week one. It's easy enough to see the existence of *A* door plug on these other aircraft just by looking at them; an operable door will always have an external handle; the plugs do not. But yes, it was confirmed in week one that the plug fastening system is exactly the same in these other aircraft. Why would someone need to be an engineer, or work for a manufacturer, to know this? Why would it surprise you that someone knows this about airplanes they fly? And really, why do you care?

Well all right... As your "belief" has exactly zero impact on my life, I'll, uh... Try to cope with it, I guess. 😁 Obviously, in the information age, it's not hard to find this stuff out though. Here's just one article specifying the existence of the same plug on -900ERs and -321s. https://simpleflying.com/aircraft-door-plugs-guide/

Really nice stuff guys. One caution on screenshots though, a few in a post are fine but if you are going to post a bunch of them, put then in the screenshot forum and link in post. We have a lot of users who access from mobile devices and scrolling through 6 or 7 screenshots can be tedious. Pllease keep posting the videos and screenshots, they are really informative. And Capt_Piett - a 36kt crosswind in a TBM 900? Are you suicidal? Max cw component is 20kts , it's possible that tutb was justified. 🙂
