  1. Past hour
  2. I thought your recent post was much more pleasant, so I'll skip writing to them on this occasion. 😅
  3. Flying from KOCF to KTPA in the FSW C414. OCF has a nice little freeware option available at the usual spot. TPA is by Verticalsim. Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr N110VE is a new livery from FSW. I recently gave it a big overhaul though with fresh paint/polish and some better metal qualities. I think it's one of the very best liveries for the 414: https://flightsim.to/file/70895/n110ve-clean-and-polished Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr The turbocharged 414 is a relatively nice performer even on this humid Florida day Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr It's a short hop to TPA to drop off some passengers Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-5 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-6 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr While fully pressurized, we'll be cruising at 8000 for this flight Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-8 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Brooksville KBKV Untitled-9 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-10 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Picking up the localizer for RY 19R Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr My home state of MN is commonly referred to as the Land of 10,000 Lakes... but Florida has quite a few of its own Untitled-13 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay Bucs) Untitled-15 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-18 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Long taxi to Sheltair Untitled-20 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Was just on this road returning my rental a few weeks ago Untitled-22 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-23 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Nice to park to plane in the shade Untitled-25 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr
  4. Please feel free to post any updates to this topic. Do not start a new topic for updates.
  5. Thank you for your opinion. All I can suggest is you either put me on ignore or write to my parents.
  6. Well said. In Damian's defense, while the screenshot posted was not a great indication of the opinions against the opening up of MSFS weather, there certainly were many of them and quite vocal about, including here on Avsim. Anyway, time to move on and hope that ASFS' success prompts MS to revisit/modify its stance on weather writing access.
  7. Damien that post contains one opinion saying Microsoft should keep things as they are. The rest of it basically regrets the options we users are currently stuck with and would welcome an opening up of the weather system by means of the very api you’ve been asking for! That thread was locked by a bot ten months after discussion ceased. That’s how their forum software works. At least the bot was polite enough to add a note!😆 For what it’s worth, I think you’re an obviously dedicated guy who is the master of his subject and given the opportunity could bring a great deal to this sim in areas where it has nowhere near reached its full potential. I agree with the suggestions that you should have been brought on board to deal with the weather in the same way that Working Title have been to enhance the avionics. Any reasonable person can see that it must be absolutely soul destroying to see a successful business built up over two decades go rapidly down the pan over the last couple of years and I wish you nothing but success with what you’re trying to do now. I think you are neither strange nor laughable but the idea that you and your company have been the subject of any sort of organised campaign by mysterious individuals to do you down - something of a continuous theme - really would seem laughable on the evidence presented and in my opinion you do yourself and possibly your product a disservice by - as you yourself put it - harping on about it.
  8. This is my first MK Studios product and my first impression is very good. Although I only got to take a look at it for a few minutes, it seems very well done with excellent detail and texturing. As already mentioned, there is good PSXT data and the immersion of real word sequencing on crosswind runways really adds to the experience. The performance seems very good especially for a dense area. The only thing I noticed thus far was a few taxi signs misplaced on the taxiways, but this could be a conflict with my Real Taxiways USA product (which also is a great product but sometimes requires deactivation of a specific airport for add on products). I will check this and report back.
  9. This also seems to work for the true light issues with aerosoft a330 in p3d v6, by placing true light .exe into sim root and running it under admin privileges
  10. Interesting post. Nice pics. What is the cruise speed of that thing?
  11. This is the only issue I currently have with the program. It takes some extra time, but I noticed If I keep my speed to the first requested selection, it seems to work out just fine. Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next beta update!
  12. Ok, I disagree with you, that's all. I guess the thread I mentioned and it's closing posts say it all, IMO. But whatever opinion you have, that's fine, I look forward to you harping on about it as much as I harp on about mine. 🙂
  13. If you read my post, it's not your opinion I called you out on. It was the rude way you were referring to others. I'm not going to sit here replying to you all day, I just ask that you treat others with a bit more respect and address them politely. As an aside, I have noted your presence in quite a few topics such as this one, where you don't seem to have an interest in the topic itself, rather you like to argue for the sake of it. Maybe I'm wrong, but your posts would be much more mature and pleasant to read if they weren't addressing people rudely and not throwing stones that don't need throwing.
  14. The only card that would fit in my computer were about 3 of the dozen or so 4070 cards (slots width). The 4070 was also the most watts I could safely drive with my power supply. That's why I am running a plain 4070.
  15. Tom's hardware. Price. RAM. Watts. FPS. Another criteria that may or not be significant is slots: Can you fit the card into your computer (is there room, how wide is the card)? Different brands of the same card can be one and half slots wider for the same card.
  16. Today
  17. Lol. Is this a beauty pageant? People are perfectly entitled to their opinions whether you like it or not. However, if you don’t like their opinions or mine I urge you to use the ignore function provided by these forums. As to ‘politeness’; I’m not the guy pushing the conspiracy theories here.
  18. I can't believe that a day after posting that, Warwick announces that Sam died on March 24th. So very sad, and I'm feeling very moved myself. Their last photo together:
  19. I hope you volunteer and get to review the Turbine Duke again and soon: https://www.avsim.com/home/reviews/aircraft/review-turbine-duke-2-by-realair-r3030/ https://www.avsim.com/home/reviews/review-training-majestic-dash-8-q400-by-airline2sim-r2380/
  20. I have not seen you make a polite or pleasant post in this thread yet. Referring to people who are in the thread as "he" and "this guy" is not polite, and you do the community a disservice in using these rude ways to address people who are here. There are/were some people who espoused that weather in MSFS was close enough to perfect, and that it shouldn't be touched or opened up. I remember reading such posts myself.
  21. There are some ambient reads available for winds that they might be using, which should be accurate, or they can use the ASFS API which includes winds and much more. I'm not sure as I'm unfamiliar with that add-on (not for long). SimBrief supports AS data already, and it can auto load transparently, although we've had reports of some processing timeouts due to recent AS changes in all products for NOAA data download duration (a bit longer than previous). We are awaiting a SimBrief update to adjust timeout and resolve that occasional issue. The manual load works regardless, however.
  22. My thoughts too. I hope you decide to volunteer Ray! Love your reviews.
  23. Damian, When the Fenix or other mods request METAR or winds data, where will they get the info from, especially if using historical weather? Simbrief will also have an option to tie into the historical data?
  24. You certainly do like to keep harping on about this mysterious 'vocal minority'. I guess we'll never know how they've 'influenced things' but seeing how the user base is now enormous and diverse - unlike the cottage industry that was 3PD - it seems unlikely that anyone would be able to grab the attention of Microsoft/Asobo long enough to truly influence any of their contractual decisions. If they don't want to do it they simply won't. As to not being able to discuss it, there appears to be a discussion thread about Active Sky on the official forums right now; https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/new-activesky-weather-program-incoming/638086?u=ddarthur5357 No sign of any vocal minority though, just a bunch of simmers discussing the same pros and cons that have been talked about here....
  25. Even though at high altitude airport your approach indicated speed remains the same your true airspeed actually is much higher than at sea level. So if you seem round up just same way you will end up with match higher vertical speed . Practice and experience is all matter!
