What features would you like to see in P3Dv5?

I understand that. I’m hoping someone answers my question as it will be interesting to know how far away from needing a 128-bit OS and P3D we are. Not in my lifetime I suspect.
  3. Hi, I have been using Remote Server for a CDU on my Ipad and I absolute love it! I would like to take it a step further and create an overhead panel using Remote Server with one of these infrared touch frames I will place over a 40" tv to turn it into a touchscreen. Does anybody have experience with this? Does it work well?

Thx and hav a great day!

  8. You said by a single 64bits program.. The ram software is 64bits and it is only limited by your hardware physical RAM. S.

But is that related to flight sim? I suspect not. What is the most memory demanding airport currently available for P3D v4? It would be interesting to know.

1 Pilot *only* in the cockpit ?...

Timing and look of such a move would be terrible. They would remove redundancy of a safety-critical system (the pilot) just as they did with the sensors for the infamous MCAS system. It would mean more systems would be controlled by their software; also not really trust-building right now. Plus, there are regulations for the number of pilots in place. While the number of pilots in a plane is certified for each airplane type individually, I am not aware of any single-pilot airplanes that carry more than 10 passengers. If the FAA would certify such a Boeing airplane with 250-300 passenger it would look really bad, given the certification issues with the 737 MAX. Especially for the last reason I do not think that Boeing would pursue such a plan. However, I might be wrong. Peter

If 32GB is considered to be the top end of the RAM pile in home PCs (possibly a conservative estimate), then think about how much memory was in PCs way back in 1989. I suspect it was about 1MB. That is an increase of over 30,000 times! If the same increase happens between now and 2049, then we will have Skynet with 1000TB of RAM!!

    Windows 10 1903 released

Just did the update to 1903 no problems so far Did a short flight found loading times in P3DV4.5 were a bit quicker than normal at loading so that was a bonus hope it keeps up The install was a breeze no hang ups there either
  13. Hi too all So frustrated Well I've taken the step of going completely backward, I've ditched my MSI GeForce gtx 1060 6gb oc v1 because it just can't work with whatever they have done with drivers or win10, ctd, bsod, restart looping, or not at all, done everything, complete clean install of everything in increments and it all points to the same culprit, the drivers from Nvidia and the win10 coding, then there is p3d v4.xx. somewhere it is screwed, after a month of searches and rebuilds, isolations, after following most of the suggested remedies and for the sake of my sanity, I stopped. I reinstalled my 960 and all is good works perfectly, performance is solid fps and I can now once again just fly, can't believe an issue affecting so many can't be resolved
  14. Actually I use in memory databases at work where everything is loaded into RAM for high speed access. Our test database uses 1Tb to hold just test data while the production servers are using now near 5Tb of RAM. Regards Simbol
  15. Similar system to mine and I'm quite happy with the visuals and performance I can get with the original Rift and PMDG birds. They are lower than on 2D screen, especially with detail in the distance, but never the less perfectly acceptable. You can't see 200nm out in real life anyway. I've adapted my settings to look good from the VC only, ignoring external views. Anything you can't see from the VC is turned off. That saves some processing power. Alot of the demand for super clear details in the distance I think stems from people using external views, zooming out and then expect to see waving blades of grass and moohing cows on the fields 200nm miles away. The major performance draw is still autogen buildings, but in some areas I can have it at Dense and High draw distance. Sometimes I have to lower it (e.g., over London etc.) Normal is acceptable all around with p3d v4.5 Likewise, I have Scenery draw distance at medium which looks perfectly OK in VR and most of everything else one or two steps from max. ActiveSky is set to 75nm visibility and cloud draw distance the same. Point is, the loss of some quality is absolutely worth it for the VR experience.

A new preview of KORD was released today. And it seems the new FSDT Chicago rendition is not that far away. "very close to release....." and "almost ok ... I'm preparing seasonal textures ....." (FSDT's Alessandro; on Facebook)

    Drzewiecki releases Chicago Airports X

I don't know why this urban legend keeps spreading. The PBR GSX update being late is entirely MY fault because, instead of just taking our old textures and adding the missing metalness, which is what most of the PBR stuff you have seen so far is made, I made the crazy decision of remodeling almost every object, to have a PROPER PBR behavior and detail, and many models in GSX were showing its age. O'Hare is made by other people, and the only thing affected *by* it, is that Basel instead has been delayed (we reassigned the guys that work on Basel to O'Hare for the time being), since we'll release O'Hare first, and much sooner than most people expects.

    Carenado Saab 340 nav/gps switching

If I recall correctly, you need to push the CGI button on the GPS/map unit first and then select NAV on the autopilot. Peter

The best traffic and ATC combo?

Plans are in the pipeline to correct this, but another product needs to be completed and released first

hmm , i dont like it at all now. Way to bright and the PBR is almost not being seen (using the maddogx for testing) Also hitting the HDR on/off in the miniUI makes no differents at all. Also when hitting the recompile HDR i have a CTD Thanks Michael Moe

AIG Wrong planes at different terminals?

maybe its a ba flight, they seem to fly to the wrong airports.. have a look in dusseldorf maybe they might be there. 🙂

Anybody using EF with ENVSHADE? Does EF noticeably improve the scene when using it together with it? I have HDR set up as per ENVSHADE manual. Did you have to change any settings to make them work together? I'm only interested in Auto mode, that's also the reason I'm using ENVSHADE.
  23. and for the small number of people that had the issue with 4.5 (without hotfix) of stuttering/proformance issues this has been fixed. Just did a quick curcuit and no problems. Happy days.

AIG Wrong planes at different terminals?

If the airport is full, then you may see a cargo plane at a passenger terminal if there are no free cargo spots available. The other alternative is that the UPS Cargo plane in question iis assigned to park at GATES in addition to CARGO RAMPS. As for the American Airlines planes parking at Terminal C.....this will be either because those gate parking spots also have the American Airlines (AAL) code assigned to them, or because (again) the airport is full, and those gates are the only free ones available.
