Hi Steve.
seen this and thought of you?

Hi Steve,
Think moving our discussion from the forum to messaging might relieve you of a cascade of requests. I would like to learn how to place graphics/logos however first what I would like is to learn how to take a texture where I have recolored say two tiles, as is the case with the Hjet examples I showed you, and compile that along with the other unmodded files of that default texture into a standalone addon livery. Right now I have just modded the two tiles for each Silver, Blue, and Yellow Hjet liveries, and I am using a yellow markings addon from TO that I see has modded a couple of other .dds files. So how do I use those elements to compile or assemble?I would also like to learn how to place graphics/logos, But that can wait. I too have only so much learning curve time to spend. LOL!

Hmmm.....there is no reason for it not to work. The only thing I can think of it that we named our planes the same and MSFS is getting confused. One thing that will help me troubleshoot....in the pic above, I see your reg on the tail matches the color of the Clemson orange. Did you change anything in my cfg files to accomplish that because it should be the standard red as far a I know.
You dropped the whole folder in the Community folder right? And if you could compare your aircraft.cfg with mine and see if we both called our planes "HJET HA420 Clemson"...also "ui_variation = "Clemson"
And in the manifest.json "title": "mg-hjet-Clemson"

Hey Frank.....try dropping this in your Community folder and see if it works. If so I may do a little more research to see if I can whack out some stuff I suspect doen't need to be there...reverse engineering can be a pain when you're working from several examples, all with no documentation, LOL.

Creating standalone liveries in MSFS can be tricky, there are many ways devs choose to do it. I'm still trying to reverse engineer some of the others out there to figure out how Marwan decided to do it. Its completely different than the PMDG I'm accustomed to painting in MSFS. Thus for for the HJet I've done it the same way you did...hijacked an existing livery (silver) and changed the tiles and the fuse part you see for the Clemson paint.
I hear you about learning curve time....I'm still trying to find time to learn blender as its the next level of painting for me.
Let me see if I can figure out how to make a stand alone...then I'll schedule some time with you to show you the process, and a few easy Photoshop tricks to make it easy to do simple paints/modifications.

Hehe...wondered if anyone even read a person's status. 🙂 I don't even know where you see it.
I was very actively posting in a thread about CaptainSim 767
Sadly Bob Scott, master mod here...closed the thread and that is not even the bad part.
The bad part is when another one started and I started replying to some comments he just deleted my posts without warning. Quite ironic since I was demonstrating that CS does the same thing with their customers who complain. My posts were respectful, on topic, but he must have felt that I'm too much of a rabble-rouser. He also deleted Brian T's too as he seems to be in cahoots with me...and perhaps the biggest outrage is that Ray Proudfoot ...with his new mod status, replied in the topic and indicated that all posts regarding CS were ok to explore...as long as they didn't go off the rails.....are you ready for this...Mr. Scott deleted his post too and overwrote his authority....can you believe that?
Anyway....pending the outcome of how Avsim responds, You may never see me post here again and I will order Avsim to take my 143 paints off their library. I refuse to deal with a site that let's mods act however they'd like with no warnings or apparent provocation.
