Here I am dropping into it.... On final 25L....just after I broke out of the heavy clouds. Almost there. Got her down ok and parked safely for the night.....didn't grab any pics of that though.

I believe its not actual radar onboard the plane, its Connext...I think the G3000 has it, because the HondaJet has the G3000 and has it as well Weather is still bad in SoCal as I just landed at KLAX. (the pic above is not of that flight...just one I had showing Connext weather depiction). @ryanbatc Stunning pics! That plane is simply gorgeous and I'm waiting for the AAU update (I don't do MSFS betas as I beta test the PMDG 737 and can't have it on my system). Can't wait 'till it drops...although I love my little HJ!

Yes, the best piston twin in MSFS IMO. But the Dev was well established in FSX and P3D and this was a model they had built previously. I think they are great devs and the 414 is remarkable. Had slight doubts in the early access, but they knocked it out of the park in the final version! Will not hesitate to buy their next offering, especially if its the MU2. 🙂 Very unique plane to fly.

The Honda Jet Isn't Good....
Steve Dra replied to Ricardo41's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Loving the HondaJet. Sim-wise, I find it to be excellent, and I was never really a fan of the VisionJet although the Sim version is also excellent and I'll probably pick it up if for nothing else to support the dev. I'm painting the HJ now since I fly her so much...and will fly my favorite livery shown below as often as I can. -
You mean something like this? 🙂 I'll get with you and either show you how to do this or just send you the teams you want....I'm pretty busy with real world stuff in the new year, but may find a little time to share my knowledge. 😉

I may work on a livery, but pretty busy with PMDG and iFly paints at the moment. The livery above is just a simple color change...you change 2 "paint chips" in the livery folder and you can have the base (yellow) color and accent (brown) color. The files to add the Elite II badging to the engines and fuse are pretty simple to install manually. The problem with putting it on flightsim.to, even with detailed instructions, sadly a lot of simmers just want a drag n drop and I don't have time to create all the other files necessary to do that. Send me a PM and I'll send you the files and simple instructions to get the Elite II badging on any/all of your HondaJets. In a matter of moments I can change the color like you may have seen in a post over in the MSFS forum (This teal/green is my wife's favorite colors and she was a passenger on this flight to Cancun, lol) @John F Thanks John...she's a great plane...both in sim and real life. Tom Cruise owns/flies one and he could own/fly just about any plane he wants...a true aviation buff (like John Travolta), and we can only simulate the planes they fly for real.

The Elite II update to this plane is amazing, VNAV, Auto throttle, increased operating weights/ranges! And all this as a free update to the existing package! I just had to give her the right badges since I'll be flying her often! 🙂 Here she is at KATL getting ready for her first 2023 flight. KAJIN departure off 8L.....saying goodbye to Atlanta off my winglet She will be one of my most-flown aircraft in 2023 I'm pretty sure, just so fun (and easy) to fly.

Another lump of coal: PMDG Update [24DEC22]
Steve Dra replied to Keirtt's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Agree with you on the dated feeling....however, its fully functional and completely familiar for tens of thousands 737 pilots. Changing something that has worked almost perfectly for decades just because it feels or looks dated are not reasons aircraft manufacturers change things. The cost to change, for example, the switches on the overhead to pushbuttons (ala Airbus) to update the look/feel of the cockpit would cost Boeing/Airlines billions in total cost (engineering, retooling, building, testing, retrofitting existing fleets, cost of training for pilots/maintenance, etc). Its obvious the Boeing agreed that the old 737 switch methodology could be updated when they designed all the aircraft following the 737, the 747-400, 757/767, 777, 787. And imagine if a big customer (like SWA) demanded you actually make a silly PFD/ND simulated display just so you didn't have to train/certify 1000's of pilots on how the new PFD/ND looked and felt. They've done it before.... Can't even imagine how much this cost back then. I could see SWA coming to Boeing after a switch to button conversion... "Hey, we don't want to retrain all our pilots to push a button vs flipping a switch...is there a way in the software that you can make the button look like a switch?" 🤔 I hear ya about the look/feel....But I personally like the look/feel and happy that when I jump in a 737, I'm not asking myself (like I'm sure a lot of Airbus Sim pilots do)..."Am I in a 319, 320, 321, 330, 340?" 🙂 ....yes cockpit commonality is great, and while the Airbus fleet may not be that dated...but it sure can get 🥱 -
HJet E II MSFS 2020 Stormy Approach Rwy 4L JFK
Steve Dra replied to btacon's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
This plane is simply the best we've seen in the private jet category for MSFS, hands down IMO. I LOVE this plane! So much so I've I've created my own livery...rare for me as I typically don't fly small private jets frequently enough to bother painting them, but this one has me captivated. Hear I am climbing up to cruise...with the AP and AT controlling everything! An Autothrottle is unheard of in this class of jet, usually reserved for the premier jets like the Gulfstreams, Globals and the such. And the VNAV is uncanny in its function....calculating TOC and TOD and graphically displaying the whole vertical profile, just superb. I'd rate this as the top payware for 2022....for what you get for the price of $24.99 -
Watch the video above....go to about 2:33 and you'll see. Of course like Rob mentioned, you have to update to the latest version to get it.

By far the best VLJ IMO. The Visionjet is also nice, but given the choice...both in the sim and in real life, its HondaJet for me. The engineering behind it is amazing, and the innovations are revolutionary. I bet given the chance all the major business jet manufacturers would go with a over-the-wing design as it is so much better for a myriad of reasons.
-
Yeah...sadly SWA is going to be seriously impacted by this...and even if they get all the issues resolved....public trust has been shattered, I bet the VP of Public Relations is shopping for a new job right about now...I wouldn't want to deal with this PR issue!

Absolutely stunning paint and video presentation! Great job Maxime! Gonna' take her on a flight from KDAL to KTPA

I agree.....maybe some day soon....and I'm hoping they are getting close on the long one....I'm currently testing her on a flight from DFW to MDW.....this plane is a tail strike waiting to happen! LOL -

Love your choice of liveries to fly in this pic Noel...heard the painter is a rock star. 🤣 -

Oh no doubt Gary! I had the VisionJet in the shopping cart, ready to hit buy the moment it was released, but took a rare pause on my impulse-buy sickness....and said to myself "Steve....you bought the HJ and haven't even flown it on a real flight....just a hop around the circuit then put her back in the hangar. Take her on a few flights to see if you NEED a VisionJet right now, just to take on one lap and put her in the hangar too....LOL." So I did just that and have since fallen in love with the HJ...so capable and easy to fly. I'll surely get the VJ when I've gotten a few thousand miles on the HJ and looking for something new. 🙂 -

Thanks, I liked working on that project with "the guys". This was my favorite metal paint in that series: And her non-metal counterpart (loved doing the "First Boeing Converted Freighter" text) May only do Delta...I'm pretty task-saturated at the moment. I know Alaska will be painted....not to worry. 🙂 Thanks John! I did the Mexico hybrid that is still wearing Norwegian winglets and has a white tail....I kind'a like it, hehe. Thanks Patrick! Loved your Christmas set! -

LOL....in the grand scheme of things...you compare this hobby to others as far a price and it's not bad considering the enjoyment over time. Take golf, Bass fishing, etc, and Flightsimming is downright cheap!🤣 Thanks...I've been painting for a bit. 🙂 -
Yes, this is a Photoshop plugin for creating cloud backdrops in PSP. Sadly the clouds in P3d will never look this good. 😞 Just a little artistic liberty on my part. I'll add a disclaimer on the pics in the future like I've done before.
-
I agree....I love bare metal liveries but they are tricky to paint correctly in MSFS. Sadly we'll never see a real 787 in "bare metal" livery since she is a carbon-fiber bird. 😞 Hehe....try to take the paint of her and buff the carbon-fiber as you would aluminum and all you'll get is a hole in the plane and a cloud of carbon-fiber dust. 🤣 @fscabral has done some excellent bare metal paints....by far my favs. Here is Western....just stunning

I've been painting the iFly 737 Max for P3d for a bit...here are some random pics of them as they were being painted.... I've enjoyed painting her....If only the environment was better in P3D....I'd fly her as much as I do MSFS planes. Hopefully we'll get a MAX for MSFS in 2023. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all.
-
AirEuropa EC-NBL uploaded....will be available as soon as the Library mods post her. I've wanted to paint this livery for ages....never got around to it until the Max project. 🙂 I really like it's colors and simplicity.
-
Oh wow Maxime! I forgot that SWA was doing the retro livery on the MAX....I know its gonna be stunning! I'll fly her for sure out of KDAL just a few miles from my real-life home. 🙂

..."Any feedback from the aficionados here?"... Yes.... get them ALL hehe. PMDG DC-6: I'm a little biased. I painted it, love it....never thought I would, and in P3D I never owned it....however, in MSFS, cruising around at lower altitudes than the jet-tubes...she was MADE for MSFS! I enjoy the change, the complexity (but she has a bunch of "helpers" to help manage the systems until you get comfortable with her). I noted in the PMDG forum there are workarounds to fix the autopilot. I have not tried them as I've no time to fly her at the moment. Here is a post mentioning the fixes: Link to PMDG DC-6 forum regarding AP fixes This is my USAF Mats paint with Day-Glo orange paint on the nose, tail and wings....one of my favorites. (Fun painting fact: The rudder is not reflective, as its actually fabric and painted a gray/silver....this effect is a result of a lot of PBR adjusting to get it looking just right) 🙂 VisionJet: I had the exact same thought as you regarding the VisionJet/HondaJet. I thought before I added yet another VLJ (Very light jet) to my hangar, I never really got to know the HJ too well...so I forced myself to fly her around the U.S. to get used to her. I absolutely lover her now, and it is my all-time favorite private in this category. I'll probably pick up the VisionJet when she goes on sale as she too looks to be modeled fantastically in MSFS....but found I didn't need her to fill a VLJ gap...I already have a great one. 🙂 I don't have the FS2C app for the 737, but their software offerings are always popular.
