  1. Very true. The issue with MS/Asobo's "Beta" where they invite the entire community to opt-in to get a beta copy of the current beta build... is anything but an actual beta program. They certainly have an actual beta team (let's hope so anyway) where testers are methodically testing issues using both industry-accepted workflows and dedicated bug-tracking software to properly inform the development team of verified, validated and actual bugs. The public beta we all refer to is just a marketing ploy mostly to push out a pre-release to the masses and let sheer numbers determine if a bug, that only manifests in such conditions (thousands of simmers all hitting it at once)..will pop up so they can pull it back and say "Oopsi...we made a boo boo, we're delaying it now until xx/xx/xxxx." It is not an end-to-end beta program by any means...just one component of it (the last one as it were). Generally speaking this is actually a good thing, with the sheer size of the whole simming environment...to have as your final pre-release "beta test" before actually putting it out, and discovering that you royally messed up afterwards.
  2. Wow....classic 1 step forward and 2 steps back scenario. I'm pretty sure that they won't release it with this performance degradation and scenery tile problem (amazing how they can't seem to reliably nail that down). At least, let's hope they just don't throw up their hands and say "Here it is, take it or leave it.....you'll be getting 2024 soonโ„ข anyway." ๐Ÿ˜ Trust me....I know how frustrating beta testing can be when you have a big set back from one build to the next. ๐Ÿค”
  3. I'll pass....great plane, but prefer the Spit. Now....throw a Typhoon my way and I'm all over it. Love the big radiator up front...makes it look...menacing.
  4. One reason I turn it off is when I fly into/out of KDFW in Dallas. If you don't...besides the scenery looking terrible, you're in for a big surprise on the runway... where you'll be flipped on your back when you hit it. Shocks me that they have not fixed this yet. I generally leave it on other places.
  5. I hear the 777F will be after the initial 777-300ER release, but not 100% sure. And If I was, I don't have official authority to confirm that (If RSR mentioned it publicly in the past, then that is the word for now)
  6. For me...one of the last MAJORS to grace our sims....Now if we could get someone to do KDFW, KATL, and FlightBeam would release KSFO...I'm outta' MAJORS that I'll need for simming nirvana. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks stunning and is a day one purchase for me...Maybe I'll be able to do Lufthansa Cargo flights out of her....with the MD-11F....and 777F?
  7. There, there. If fact...we can go everywhere in MSFS. ๐Ÿ™‚ I've visited all my childhood homes in MSFS and the level of detail in each of them is astounding for as obscure some of them are. Best time to be a simmer no doubt.
  8. I'm pretty sure its related to the tight grip the Empire has on all the system's throats. We're all uptight because you guys area bunch of meanies and won't let us buy cool virtual planes in MSFS without your incredibly high Empire tax. If you'd just tap that down a bit, Fenix could sell the A320 for $3.26 and all your puny subjects wouldn't bicker so much between them. I understand the cost of rebuilding the Death Star was enormous, but you should really blame Darth's snot-nosed little brat for that. Had he not bulls-eyed Womp Rats on Tatooine as a rebellious youth...with no real father to guide him in the ways of the Dark Side...we'd not be in this mess, right? But Nooooooo...Aitkin was too busy dominating the universe to stop by Tatooine every so often to check in with his kid. Seems all of the hate and discontent could have been avoided if you're boss had just been there for his boy, me 'tinks. Da' Empire is mui mui bad Juju, fo' shoooo
  9. Yeah I think we are all under the consensus that FSL will be laughed out of the MSFS market if they want to hold on to their old P3d pricing structure. The $49 I paid for the Fenix on day one is probably one of the best Flightsim purchases I've ever made. Will gladly hand over the price they ask for the 319/321....getting the major majority of the A320 series for way less I think FSL may charge for the equivalent content, if they ever bring the A320 to the MSFS market (which even if they do, I think its years out at minimum)
  10. Doing 1st flight now after update. No issues so far...just out of Seattle. Seems very smooth. Don't particularly like the airline, but appreciate the artwork by @Jviation. Been flying N604NK a while around the USA doing its real schedule. Flown on this bird IRL a few times, even painted it in Skittles a few years back....when I was actually sitting in 23F on the actual plane. ๐Ÿ™‚
  11. Ugh...I feel your pain when trying to hold onto P3D and FSL posts this about V6: ..."While we understand and acknowledge the potential of P3Dv6, at this point in time, our resources and attention are devoted to maximizing the features and compatibility of our products with MSFS." and then go on to say ..."P3Dv6 remains a vital element in our long-term platform strategy, and we look forward to exploring its potential in due course." Realistically (let's be honest)...if they are holding resources to P3DV6 until AFTER MSFS development... P3D, if even it continues development and updates of its product, will be on version 10 by the time FSL gets around to "exploring its potential in due course". I'll make a deal with you (because I'm sure it will never happen in my lifetime)...if FSL does go back and update their a320 product line for whatever version of P3D happens to be around in 2030 (a conservative estimate for sure), you contact me and point me to this post and I will happily buy that update for you. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you contact me and I've passed into that great flight simulator in the sky, you'll sadly have to update it yourself. As far as updating P3D...you'll have to cover that, and that I fear, would be more expensive than the whole Fenix A320/330/350/380 line in MSFS. ๐Ÿค”
  12. Unless FSL has been working on an A330 for the last several years, and with the past history of their snail-like development pace, I would not expect an FSL feature-rich A330 in MSFS for at least 5-6 years. And don't count on the price being even close to being competitive if their past pricing structure is replicated. Oh you want sharklets with that? Another $80 please. Not sure that pricing structure is going to work in an MSFS market, again, only time will tell when FSL starts to reveal Only time will tell if FSL will make it in the MSFS market, if they get here at all. I predict by the time they get an A330 to the market, Fenix's A330 will already be filling the MSFS skies, at less than 1/3 the price FSL will want for theirs (again, if they try to push their old pricing structure into the market), and, with all the variants in a one price-package. I can't see FSL being relevent in MSFS, as much as the old, P3D FSL disciples think they will. If they do their market research, they should find that Fenix has the market locked up, and the only sales they'll get are the old P3D crowd who want to think they are flying a minorly superior Bus that is vastly more expensive than the competition. July 2023 from FSL ..."We appreciate your understanding and patience and promise to keep everyone abreast of our progress. We eagerly anticipate the successful introduction of our product range to MSFS" It's April 15, 2024 6 months and no progress? Unless his "promise" to keep everyone abreast of their progress is subjective. The only other alternative is that there has truly been no noteworthy progress they can update us on, right? I'd like to see FSL make it to the MSFS market and give us alternatives to our current Airbus choices as much as anyone...but I truly don't see it at this point, not realistically without any concrete news from them like "We've just put our 1st A330 build into Alpha stage, and have a few screenshots for you of the model."...knowing that from Alpha to release is at least a few years in itself.
  13. This library IS full of great freeware in the FS9/FSX era. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just click the Avsim link in my sig...go to the last page and work your way back and take a trip thru memory lane, hehe. I had a lot more uploads posted before the great Avsim site hack of yesteryear where almost the entire library was wiped. I re-uploaded some of my stuff, but never completed it all because of the archaic and labor-intensive upload procedures here. You easily identify the simmers that are unaware of what "POSKY" is every time they question the linage and experience of @sherv_BBS and the laughable implication that Bluebird is a "new" Developer with untested experience. While it technically is a new Dev...its like thinking GE is a new aircraft engine manufacturer because your only exposure to their brand is buying their lightbulbs in the store. ๐Ÿ™‚ POSKY's external models back in the day were so good, the community created a merge with the LDS 767 systems and cockpit (2d mind you), because it was better than the payware LDS external model. Here are 2 of the many paints I did for that excellent package.... (The AA was a collaboration I did with Ed Cox way back when...I have not seen him lately, hope he's ok). Yep...those are FS2004 screens! Some of us old freeware contributors are still around...just a lot older, a little more tired, but still willing to put out free paints for the community. I figure I'm doing the PMDG 777, 747, and then I'm out. Of course...you may see some BlueBird metal from me as well, who knows?๐Ÿค”
  14. I also agree. I'm excited for the release as much as anyone here! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. You guys were so excited about the 777 release, you totally missed the PMDG MAX, 757, 767, and MD-11 releases today as well!
  16. Exactly. A few millennia ago...a team will a silly name called "Gonzaga" became part of basketball lore...and all that time I thought it was some off-shoot of a Japanese monster about to face off with the other "G" monster. True. But that is what makes it funny. Even funnier is that everyone here sees how silly it is to match an A320 Neo vs a BeeGee. Show this list to 99% of the rest of the world's population, and they would not even see the comedic value because they'd have no clue what a BeeGee is. They'd likely think its an old 80's music group vs an airplane that just made you laugh to look at it. Just like I can look up when a jet flies over and instantly tell my wife what airline, model, engine type the plane is, which she thinks is just silly that I know this (and she could care less)....let another woman walk by us in Louboutin's or Jimmy Choo's and she can instantly tell you the model, year produced and the retail price...I just see a stupid pair of high heels that some poor woman is doing a balancing act to walk on. And to think that a lot of those shoes cost more than my entire gaming rig, makes me want to vomit. The world is just simply full of stupid stuff when you stop and think about it. ๐Ÿค”
  17. You are not tuned into the insanity in the United States that is "March Madness". Similar to the stupid way you Europeans go nuts over your soccer Football, the US has a tradition of putting the Annual NCAA basketball tournament into this "Bracket" format and some Americans lose their minds when the pairings are made...spending ridiculous amounts of money betting on which 2 will make it to the final, and eventually the overall winner. Marriages have ended, jobs lost, lives lost over this silly gambling ritual, and Fielder's just linking to the rather comical parody in our world. Watching grown men kick around a ball with only their feet for 90+ mins...only to see a score that sometimes amounts to nothing (Wow...did I just watch a sporting event that ended with not a single score...how pathetic am I?) ....I know some like you (and me) think this March Madness bracket thing is..... dumb. But it made me smile when I saw it, because I think its funny as heรŒรŒ!
  18. Ohhhh.....that is so good and bad at the same time. Good pun....bad nuance. So grateful that nobody died in that incident so we can joke about it...a little. ๐Ÿ™‚ Severely impacts Boeing as a whole, better check my portfolio and see if I have any Boeing stock.
  19. Great advice. It is a very well rounded free airliner that can get you started with no financial risk. I also agree with the universal opinion that you can't go wrong with PMDG or Fenix if you want other airliner offerings.
  20. Great shot! Here is another "Liberty" shot of a recent paint...:)
  21. OMG! I can't believe you guys are falling for this deception from an evil officer of the Empire! He is trying to lull you into getting this...thinking its safe to approach his fleet off the Endor moon to download it. Then once you get close enough, you'll have some fish guy yelling:
  22. ..."You can just not look at the tablet, or you have an option to turn off the failures completely if you so wish." I'll be sure to include your advice in our next support meeting. We're always looking for ways for our purchases to appear rational to the uninitiated of our addiction. ๐Ÿ™‚ I can promise you I'll look at the engine synoptics for the 1st few hours, marvel at how cool they are...then probably never look at them again...unless my wife comes into the room, because I assured her that the only reason I bought the Duke(s) is for that, revolutionary feature. Is that deceptive? Yep, and a common plane-a-holic tactic ....did I mention I'm in therapy for my addiction? ๐Ÿค”
  23. Me and Dave in our monthly support group meeting: "Hi, I'm Steve, and I'm a virtual plane-a-holic." Dave and others: "Hi Steve"
