  1. My pleasure! I've been wanting the package ever since I saw the 1st video of it....thinking the intake fog and tornadoes were post-production editing by the creator of the video. My jaw dropped when I learned they were in-sim effects! Thanks Keven! No worries about the 777 package in P3d. I have FSX:SE installed as well and will play with the 777 package there until the P3d version is ready.
  2. Thanks Keven! I just purchased the full package (base and 777 immersion), and can't wait to try them when I get home from work today too like Richard. I've sent an email as well for beta consideration.
  3. Hey Gerry, I have the PMDG 777, Aerosoft Airbus series, Rex, ASN, all of my 3rd party addons working in Steam just fine.
  4. Absolutely stunning! Please keep posting screens....killer set you have there!
  5. The one time I flew into KMSY it was on a...Delta....737....800. Looked JUST like that! Great shots!
  6. I agree, one of the most beautiful in my opinion, especially how they designed the #2 engine into the fuse. It was also one of my favorites to fly on....very comfortable! Flew on Eastern and Delta Tri-Stars.
  7. By far the best looking (and performing) fighter of WWII. Stupendous shots Ryan!
  8. We really enjoyed Kiki for the short time he was with us.. Hehe...I wish moving a paint from one model to another was that easy. That long ago, we were making repaints on 1 maybe 2 1024x1024 maps. Now we paint on 3 sometimes 4 4096x4096 maps. My 1st trip across the pond (that I can remember) was on a Pam Am 707 to Rota, Spain back in 72. Sadly, in all the years I've been flying...I've never managed to fly on a 747! Just about every other airliner from the 60's to present day, but never a 747...go figure. I thought my 1st 747 ride was going to be when I was in the Navy and going to Naples, Italy. I left from JFK, went to the gate they said we were departing from, and there was a 747 sitting there! (Can't remember the airline). Then when we got there, they said we had a gate change. Went to the new gate, and there was a World Airways DC-10. Not horrible as I never had flown on a DC-10 either, but I really wanted to fly a 747 that flight. Yeah I used to fly back and forth from KATL to KDFW weekly, so saw this sign a lot! The shadows are really cool...but more than just that...P3d is just so smooth on my system. Not that FSX:SE is too bad either, but on P3d..the view switches from exterior to interior are instant on the 777, whereas in FSX, it repaints chucks at a time....another reason I love P3d.
  9. Beautiful Patrick! OK...what are you trying to do? I JUST got P3d, and loving it....are you trying to get me get ANOTHER flight simulator?
  10. Thanks Chris...yeah...its the same pen...its very slippery! Hehe I had no intention of doing an NWO on the 744...but since you inquired...I already painted that one...uhh....10 years ago! The "Rest in peace Kiki" was for my friend and fellow SGA painter Kiki Mazbuda who died while I was painting this plane. Unknown to any of us then, he was stricken with severe muscular dystrophy that left him completely wheelchair bound, and his hands almost unusable do to the conditions of that ugly disorder. Despite all that, he managed to always be upbeat, and his painting skills were awesome, even with his disability. I got an email from his dad one day saying he had passed, and wanted me to know that me and all the members of our freeware group brought joy into his life. Painting and flightsimming was his escape from the terrible reality which was his world. He was 17. Really put things into perspective for me, and I thank God every day that my kids (now 25 and 23) are healthy. Speaking of a brown and yellow plane...I'm prepping this one for my 1st 777 flight, in......P3d. :Big Grin: (i know....I'm weak, hehe...Had...to.....buy....no self control ) Can you guess what airport I'm flying out of? Guess I can't live without these shadows!
  11. Thanks HL...have it set as my desktop for now...I thought it looked pretty cool too.
  12. The MD's were great to fly on, unless you're in the back right next to the engines...otherwise the further up front you went, the quieter it got. I flew in Delta MD-90s a lot on KATL>KDFW flights and they are very quiet in business/first class! In addition, the MD's are jusssst narrow enough to only fit a 2/3 seat config in coach, so always sit on the left and you'll never have that dreaded middle seat person to deal with. (I always sat in seat A on the MDs) Finally, especially on the very long MD-90...when you're all the way up in seat A1 (I actually took A2 so I could have under-seat storage), the feeling of rotation at liftoff is very pronounced and exciting. If you look at the MD-90 and how far aft the wing/mains are, you can see that the rotational movement at the front is much more than other aircraft it's size...just a little added bonus when flying in that unique model. With exception of the rare time I had to fly in the back, the MD was a great plane to fly in, and I will be saddened when they leave the skies. (and its Boeing sister the 717, which I flew on Airtran weekly for a few years, with an occasional 737 thrown in) The CRJ-200 though...it can have its last revenue flight yesterday as far as I'm concerned...without a doubt the worst regional to fly on! Even the ATRs and other turboprops I flew on were better than the -200. I understand that it was never purpose-built as an RJ and was shoe horned into that role...with the -700 and -900's much nicer to fly on (by a long run). My personal favorite RJ without a doubt is the EMB 170-90 series. Purpose-built for the role, they designed the fuse cross-section as a "tall oval" vs a circular shape, and you can stand full up in one with no issues if you're over 6ft. Flew them tons when going the KATL to Houston route when I was consulting. Plus the 2/2 seating meant you never had a center seat.
  13. NWA 320 making her way through the night. Bent over to pick up a pen I dropped....looked up and saw the moon.
  14. Was flying off the northeast coast and caught this 767 heading to KMIA.... Quite fitting that I'm escorting a plane dedicated to the pilot in the plane escorting him. :American Flag:
  15. Thanks Craig. I think you'll find once you get used to the key combo's to move your view (you can even map your own or assign to a spare hat on your flight controls, I just adapted to the defaults and can now walk around both the exterior and interior with reckless abandon, hehe) Here is the text from the other post Craig is referring to if ya'll want to explore my solution to this issue: Hey Craig, funny you should ask about a camera utility...I don't actually use one, but I am passionate about getting cool and unusual angles for my shots, especially when I'm previewing a paint I'm about to release. Here is a post I did back in June, describing in detail how to setup the default cameras that come with FSX to do your panoramic bidding. The only update I've made since then is changed the xyzrate to be 8 vs 4 (as you read the post, you'll see this is the speed at which the camera pans...by default its a paltry .25 meters per second...I bumped to 8...you can do your walk around pretty quick that way, LOL) Read the whole post and you'll be set on how to build (well modify the existing) camera sections in your aircraft.cfg files. Click the link to head to the post in June.... http://forum.avsim.n...otos/?p=3008717 Let me know if this info is useful.
  16. Having made the plunge not even 2 weeks ago, I say you should. I don't have the multi machine setup you have, but from what I've read the config is not much different than you did to set it up in FSX. As far as visuals, P3d is awesome! Just look for my posts in the screenshot forum, I've been flying the Aerosoft Airbus with zero issues (And you'll like their P3d conversion price, hehe). The SSD footprint may not be as large as you think, as I've been discovering innovative ways to share scenery between FSX:SE and P3d, so all of my Megascenery and other addons are being used in P3d merely by pointing to them in the config process or post install by modifying the scenery.cfg and other files. You're going to have to get your hands a little dirty getting everything setup..but nothing like you did when you installed FSX, and all the post install tweaks you've done since. For me, it flew right out of the box (so to speak), and my 1st add on was the Aerosoft Airbus, which was flawless. I was on the fence for a long time as well, with FSX:SE running fine for me. I jumped in because I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about, and believe this is the train to ride when we get to 64bit (although X-Plane is looking more appealing everyday). Don't get discouraged if its not perfect when you take your fisrt flight...the 1st thing I noticed was how much darker it appeared. A simple uncheck of the HDR option fixed that for me (still playing with it, but the forums here will have just about every answer you need...far more others have been blazing the trail before us, hehe) Good luck if you go for it, and keep us posted on the outcome.

  18. Angry sky in this series of pics, a Mean Green machine in another recent post....Dang Chris, what did you do to tick off the FlightSim Gods? Fantastic shots BTW.
  19. LOL...but what he's not telling us is that he found the SD card intact as one of the tiny pieces left of the camera as it passed through the engine. That's how he got the pic posted here....but that camera will never take another pic!
  20. Here are a few en-route... Over the Seattle shipyards There's KSEA below Passing Mount Rainier
  21. Great shots HL! Funny your're taking a Boeing into Airbus land. I recently took an Airbus out of there to EDDF.
  22. I have to say you make my paints look great Chris! That shot from the engine intake is unique to say the least...and certainly one we could only get in flightsim, LOL And yes, she is mean, but you two seem to be getting along pretty well.
  23. Superb detail....FS9.....still an amazing flightsim!
  24. Great shots Chris.... Hmmm...since I'm not getting the 777 for P3d...maybe I should finally get the 737?
  25. Thanks Chris...yeah AI can be totally goofy sometimes. Left Dallas in the 777F...made to Memphis ok...will post those pics soon. Thanks Craig....the environment in P3d is fantastic no doubt!
