  1. That's the marketing magic of "bundles". For all the models you get with an "All-in-one" version, the cost ratio is not unreasonable...however, few simmers will routinely fly all of them so the "value" for the simmer is diminished. In the virtual world where no product is physically produced, the company loses zero net profit as there is no cost for materials, like producing a can of beans for example. A bean-making company that sells 10 varieties of beans can't just bundle them all in one package and sell them...the public would never buy it first off, 2nd, the cost of all those cans, shipping and storage, etc all cost money per can, regardless if they are packed into a bundle or not. Virtual products on the other hand, have no appreciable costs (if any) associated with manufacturing, distribution, transportation, storage, etc. So if they bundle all their varieties into one package and sell it at a higher price, it is no loss to them. The perceived value of getting them all tugs at the basic human instinct to own everything, even though we may only use 10% of all we get. Watch a young child amongst a bunch of toys he can't possibly ever play with at one time, and see how he reacts when another kid tries to take one of his toys, you'll get the idea LOL. Yeah...for the simmer's value, letting them just pick up the models they want at a reduced price is how we'd all prefer it. And you obviously can't take the price of the total package and divide the cost evenly per model....while mathematically correct, it would never be cost-effective for the developer, and you want them to get a fair value for their hard work and to remain in business. So, there could be alternate ways to compromise so each side is getting both value and compensation for each purchase. One common and very popular method is to buy 1 at a set price, and each additional model you buy, you get XX% off that model's price, and so as you buy more, you save per model. Sure, the overall cost for this method would be much more than the $50 if you added it up, but if you only want one, maybe even 3...the price would be close to $50, but you have control of what you buy and if you only bought ONE...for let's say $25...then that is a great value for the simmer. Let's say you want a few more...and the next one would be $15, and the 3rd was $10...you'd be in for $50 with less models than the "Premium pack", but it would be all you need. To me...seeing one plane (any one I wanted in the pack) for $25 is a heck-of-a lot more enticing then having to be forced to plop down $50 for all of them and maybe only ever using 2 or so. This thinking throughout the whole community when deciding to buy this plane, would naturally lead to a ton of more sales at $25 vs very few at $50. Some Devs just don't seem to get that, and they keep giving us these "Bundles" at a price that simmers will rebel against (esp when you compare it to the recent FSR M500 just released at $33)..and will be a solid "NO SALE"...vs seeing one model at $25 and thinking..."Yeah, I could swing that". Simple marketing strategy....lost on some trying to cash in on the all-or-nothing methodology. And as you mention about the price of the separate packages...laughable at best, insulting our intelligence at worst. I really want this plane, but I'm not paying what they are asking for the bundles...any of them. So there is a lost sale right there. Switch to the sales model to the one I mention above, and I'll get one sale for sure...maybe 2 from me. That's an assured $25, maybe $40 to Blackbox...current bundle strategy= $0...the math seems pretty simple to me. 🙂
  2. Get my metallic livery for her here: https://flightsim.to/file/63317/fsreborn-fsr500-livery-shadow-metalic
  3. Not that I'm aware of. There are a lot of texture maps and it is better suited for 3d painting in Blender, Substance, etc. Trying to stitch together all the maps for a 2d paintkit master fuse file would be challenging. I still paint in 2d, but I had knowledge of what to look for in the maps and All I really did was changed the base color to the metallic effect by altering both the albedo and comp files, and change the stripe from blue to red. This would not be a beginner painter's plane unless you learned to paint in a 3d app from the start.
  4. Thanks....will be waiting for your famous red liveries. 🙂
  5. I'll have a metallic silver paint ready at flightsim.to when she's released (same metallic effect I helped @ryanbatc with on the TBM). (Thanks to Raul for the preview copy and Rockview with help getting me sorted out on the jsons' and aircraft config files, and the livery I based this off of) She looks cool near dawn/dusk! She is a STUNNER guys! Both to look at and fly!
  6. Anyone know when the MP updates today? I just checked and she's not gracing the "New Releases" category. 😞
  7. Hehe....can't say either way. The speculation grows. 🙂
  8. I've been on many -200s, loved the stovepipe engines...my last -200 flight was a Delta Express...can't recall the city pairs but want to say NY to Atlanta. Anyway, been on 727s ,707s and old DC-8s too. My most memorable was a Pan Am 707 from Philly to Rota, Spain (military charter). Anyway, I'll be contributing again to the community when the 777 releases...have a few liveries queued up.;)
  9. The -600 is fun....plus its the only PMDG 737 without winglets. I like to look out the passenger every so often and not see a winglet...reminds of the old days when they never existed.
  10. Hehe....yeah. Mondays generally suck, but this Monday I can stop testing the release features of the UFT/EFB, and move on to testing other things.
  11. Getting ready for a flight to Tampa....Nasty weather in Houston! Monday can't get her fast enough! 🙂
  12. LOL...no worries. Its hard to keep up with all the stuff that is coming, and this is one that I'll donate to them just to support their efforts for our community. Its "payware" quality if you count all the things we've paid for in the past that were not even close to the features this freeware offers. 😉 Oh, and I love your tag line...and it seriously applies to me (as I suspect it does many here). I fact, I used to drive by the Atlanta Hartsfield airport frequently with my family, I would be driving and looking up at the traffic in the air...when we finally decided that my wife would drive that portion of the trip, for safety's sake. 🙂
  13. I too was amazed that nobody was talking about this. I enjoy flying freight as well (never had a pallet go berserk and had to be duct-taped to a seat, LOL)...freight never complains either. 🙂 I'm looking forward to this release as much as the 789, if not more.
  14. The Horizon will be freeware. Consider yourself enlightened. 🙂 Both are great for freeware, and you can try both and form your own opinion when the Horizon releases. Check out the many vids out there on her....almost all the mainstream content creators in our hobby are flying it almost non-stop.
  15. Disappointing, but I totally get that they need to get it right before they give it to that faithful bunch of simmers. Wish them the best as I really think they'll give us a nice MD-11 to fly when they're done. Looking forward to LH Cargo, FedEx and UPS flights with her. Let's hope none of the pre-order crowd already reserved slots for the VATSIM CTP next week and booked the MD-11 as their aircraft.
  16. I love calling things Fred! 🙂 In fact, I do some coding for automation software in the healthcare industry, and when I'm testing something, and need to insert a quick variable name into the code to see the output, I use "Fred"...Been doing it for years, true story!
  17. Its hard to truly appreciate all the static screenshots, us now long-time MSFS'ers, have been posting and blowing up this forum with post statements raving about the visuals in MSFS...until you see it live on your screen at home with your own eyes. For everywhere I've explored in this vast world with MSFS so far, I never seem to run out of OMG moments...like this one way back in Nov of 2020 when I was exploring the Carolinas in all their beauty. The Biltmore Estate just blew me way as I circled it the 1st time back then, not believing this was default scenery. Or one day listening to one of my favorite Eagles songs....decided to see what Winslow, Az looked like in the sim. I was not disappointed for an obscure place....still hoping some scenery guru places that flat bed Ford that was "Slowing down to take a look at me" 🙂 Or get together with a friend and explore Monument Valley together.... So if you haven't already....start thinking of all the places you've either visited in the past, or wish you had, and go see what they look like from above in your new simulator. 😉
  18. Flying it now.....it just gets better. Taking her from KELP to KABQ at sunset....just beautiful.
  19. Thanks guys! I'll wait until next week and see what FSimStudios releases and have 3 to choose from.
  20. Sigh....maybe one day Avsim won't be so quirky...deleted this info since the Edit link on the original post just started working...but now it seems that the edit button this reply isn't...the 1st few times I tried it
  21. Hey guys....saw a few topics that I thought had the info I needed but I never saw a good answer. Which one if I'm on Ryzen 5 7600x 4070TI and DX12 with 32gb ram? I saw mention of possible BMW issues in DX12, but I have their KPHX and it seems to do ok in DX12. Thoughts? EDIT: meant MK Studios
  22. Always liked the long-lankly look of the -600. Much preferred it to the -200. Not sure if I'm a customer though as I don't think I'd fly her as much as other long-haulers that are coming soon. I hope she gives you a lot of fun flights. 🙂 Are there any other airlines besides LH that still fly her? I'm not up on the model's current status.
  23. Congrats Frank! That is quite a milestone for sure...and you're just about to roll 1000 on MSFS. Looks like your MSFS hours are almost 1/10th of your total hours. Do you have any special trips planned for each event?
  24. Thanks! Sunrise and sunset is a magical time in the sim.
  25. Thanks! Will be visiting your town next June! Can't wait
