Not being a native speaker, I'm wondering if the sentence "- Few preliminary changes for an upcoming P3D version" couldn't just mean "an upcoming P3D version of that tool/product" ? Sorry if this was discussed already, I might have read the 4 previous pages a bit fast...

That would be a possible interpretation, but in the context of where that sentence appeared, it’s more likely to mean a new version of P3D in my opinion. Of course all we can do now is wait and hope.

  2. I've been a Prosim 737-800 user for almost 2 years now. Very happy with it - I use SISMO, Cockpit For You, Flight Deck Solutions and Agronn hardware and integration is excellent. Incremental updates continue weekly and the community forum is small (in our niche corner of a niche hobby) but active and supportive.  I fly 5x per week and rarely have any issues whatsoever.  Also nice that the conversion path to MSFS should I ever make the leap is seamless. In fact, many fly both sims interchangeably with the same Prosim config.

    Google Aviaworx!!!

And I use another IPad with Navigraph charts

Agree with both, and would add a suggestion to check out the excellent apps from Virtual Avionics for 737 747 777 A320

  4. Hi Qas, I have used both of those for a couple years with ipad and android tablets. Both have been generally stable except sometimes when a new version of airplane is released.   Aviaworx has been more reliable and responsive overall, although Virtual Avionics has been good to me and I like their CDU apps better.  But an Aviaworx advantage is their more complete set including center cdu.

They both work a similar way - you install a server program on your sim PC, launch it, and then connect your client device via your home network. In the Virtual Avionics control panel you need to make sure to associate each PMDG aircraft.  In Aviaworx you need to make sure to use the correct IP addresses.

    What steps did you take?

  5. Hi guys, I had this issue a couple months ago, somehow it went away but I'm not sure what I did.   And now it's back.

I use a Windows 10 (Microsoft Surface) laptop with a larger Touchscreen as a 2nd monitor, on which I display the Overhead client.  For the 737 and 777, font and button lights display perfectly.   On the 747 only, the fonts are too large on buttons, causing them to spill over.  Photo attached.   If I drag to the primary monitor, the issue persists.

I've tried every monitor and graphics setting I can find.   There IS a solution somewhere - the problem was gone for a while - but it's also curious that the 777 has similar button text but it adjusts fine.

Any ideas?   I do really love the product, and of course it still functions with the oversized fonts.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  6. Have you tried adding a third video card (low spec)?  Limitation might be 2 video outputs per video card.

Also food for thought - I put PMDG PFD and ND on one monitor (widescreen 27" IIRC) and use Android tablets (or ipads) for 2 FMCs using the Virtual Avionics app.  (I've not used Steam but rather FSX and P3D in this manner).  Upper Eicas and Lower Eicas on individual smaller monitors as you describe . It has been wonderful.

  7. I used to have a similar setup to what you describe... had 2 video cards with 2 outputs each.

Video card A had the TH2Go running 3 external monitors for outside forward view, plus one monitor for instruments.

Video card B had two more monitors for instruments. It was low spec compared with card A.

Each flight I undocked the 2d instrument panels and dragged them onto the 3 monitors used for instruments.   The external view was outside view only, no instruments.

This is still how I fly but now with a 65" TV rather than 3 monitors and TH2Go.  I'm flying the PMDG aircraft (737, 747, 777) mostly.

    What isn't working for you?

  8. Hi Rockliffe, what you’re envisioning is very close to my setup.

I have a Sismo single-side cockpit (captain and middle) but so far without most of the actual switches because over the years I acquired GoFlight units for the MCP and EFIS, throttle, flaps/gear, plus lots of buttons/toggle modules

I run 3 x 27” monitors for the cockpit outside view, plus 3 more monitors for the 2D in-cockpit screens. I use an old Android tablet for the FMC.

All of this runs today on one PC, an 8 yr old i7-2600K with two GPUs (not SLI), an Nvidia 960 and a 750Ti.  With all the high complexity add-on airplanes and scenery in 4.3 I have to dial graphics options way down to get good performance.

But I’m upgrading now to an i7-8700k with GTX-1080Ti (plus keeping the 760Ti) and of course P3Dv4.4 so I hope to get much better performance overall.  I’m thinking about possibly increasing monitor size soon or ditching 3 monitors in favor or a large TV. I also may selectively add Sismo devices like the gear lever and flap gauge.  (I actually fly the sim as a 777 or 747 more than a 737, in part because things like the flap positions are displayed on screen).

Anyway because we have similar visions in cockpit design, please feel free to use me as a sounding board any time.

I have a feeling that PR scenery is suddenly going to become much more popular 😉 ... so with that said, be sure to plan accordingly (PR takes much more disk space).

I read this just before clicking "Submit" on a new PC order on Saturday.  Went back and tripled the size of HDD capacity I was ordering.  Today I see why!
