  1. Sorry Gent's, will not be able to make this one.. It's sunny & warm ( until Sunday ) in the north woods and the dog doo doo isn't going to pick itself up & the yardwork prep for summer isn't going to magically happen. Was looking forward to some high perf time. - Have a good flight!
  2. Why can't we line up like this? Now here's some Bonanzas for all you "Bananas"
  3. Part Tree of "Trees" Buzzin Surfers Paradise. The Sun was starting to set and as such we had to hustle.. We all taxiied to the active and the tower replied. "Y'All can go now." Ron, Mike & Jeff just to the front. I believe that is Jeff starting to retract on the F-33. At first we all thought they were whales. But alas, it was waves on the "rocks" ** . Whales would have been cool though. Mike w/ myself at his 8 while the sun is setting. Nice glimmer! The Sun is going down, we gots a way to go. The Sun through Mikes cockpit. Nick, as the Sun dips below the treeline. Just a few feet above the ground @ Byron Bay (YTYH) in an unregistered! (LOL) 337. Mike turning in for Byron Bay whilst eyeing up his "Spot". Ron in his soon available 337 on his way into Byron Bay. Aint dat pretty! One of the biggest advantages of having a "V" tail is that a vertical tail gets in the way of a nice sunset whilst a "V" doesn't . HA! ** Anyone ready for a "Shrimp on the Barbie"? ** Add up "Rocks" & "Shrimp" ( or lobster whats the diff ) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=36&v=tDZy6-fMCw4 Ron coming in just a tad left, plenty of room, no worries. Daylight is waning. Mike coming in long, real long @ Ballina ( YBNA). Just before I was ready to PTT "GO AROUND!" she was placed down nicely with plenty of space. ( Easier Taxiing ) Jeff bringing it in nicely as what's left of daylight is nil. Mike doing the shutdown list @ Ballina... Oh Look! The pub is still open! Once again, the meeting of the minds where we figure it all out. The last glimmer along with the FBO lighting makes a nice shot. BTW, that "V" needs a good scrubbing. Discussion over, the pub is open, let's go in. Just an idea. As the discussion was going towards doing warbirds 'n such for next week. I was thinking that although a Spit (or similar) would be fitting for the area I was thinking of doing this for a different and known reason.
  4. Part Duex of "Trees" It's a googly! LOL :-) Overflying "The Gabba". Mike overflying "Bunnings Warehouse" on his approach to Archerfield (YBAF). Jeff doing the same.... Is there a sale? What's with all the traffic? Jeff just getting into the ground effect..... (More) Correcting..... (More) TOUCHDOWN! As said before, the crosswinds where a B. Nick, with his illegal registration, doing a slight crab @ YBAF. Up Ron's rear end.. (UGGH) He's doing the same, taking care of the crosswind just a few inches off the ground. TROUBLE.... No more can be said. Splitting the towers @ the Swanbank Power Station just southwest of Brisbane. Ron, coming into Boonah (YBOA) whilst the stall horn is starting to buzz. Speaking of buzz. There are 2 Buzzards up and to the right of his right wingtip. They went home without dinner. :-) BTW that new, gorgeous looking repaint should be available soon at..... Yumm, a Hurricane. At least she's getting rebuilt. The most disturbing part of the flight.. 4 of us, except Ron, were admiring the scenery of the locals from Boonah. Ron shows up and the "beauty" in the red dress pulls out a "cease and desist" order. Mike throttles up instantly. MMMM? Getting out of Boonah following Ron as he retracts his legs... ( Just the thought.. UGGH ) Later on Ron starts "Rat Tat Tat Tat" on Jeff - Unfortunately he was fast and overshoots. Jeff gets on him for a bit. Hey Ron! - That's a Tree Tree Seven not an Oscar Deuce! Keep it upright! To be continued......
  5. Part One of "Trees" Here is my PIREP from todays awesome flight! Nick Climbing out from Watt's Bridge (YWSG).... He's already in trouble for falsifying aircraft registration! (RON!) It looks like a good day for flying. :-) Myself hugging it low to get the visual. Just about ready for a left downwind turn for Mount Brisbane (YZMT) Mike getting ready for a Redcliffe (YRED) approach. It may have been a beautiful day but the crosswinds where just a bit...... ( Insert answer here ) Mike getting 'er down. Nick sneeks into Jeff's blind spot on final approach. You gents have to do it KOSH style... "Skymaster to the Orange Dot, Bonanza to the Green Dot... Rock wings to acknowledge." Nuttin but trouble.. Mike, Jeff & I in Bonanzas while Ron & Nick are in Skymasters. Roger is in a 172 but he was a ghost except for effects. I Think I finally figured out the MP problems I have. Will test next time. JEFF! Hustle UP! - Got the throttle chopped, climbing, and.... starting a left bank to miss. Over the radio was heard from Ron & Nick in Skymasters.. "Had you.. Where are you?" "Seen you too. Now where?" "Up Here" Ron is rotating southbound from Tangalooma (YTGA) while either Mike or Jeff is rolling on the left side of the runway. There's a bunch of us just starting to make dust in the background. The shipwrecks just south of Tangalooma (YTGA). Approching Brisbane... Somwhere down there Jeff is preparing to skirt underneath the crane towers. Is this the race course? Seems right or did I miss something. To be continued......
  6. Really hope to make it this time. A little flight to KOSH is happening (If WX OK) for a fly-in breakfast to celebrate Steve Wittman's birthday on Saturday. Should be back in time, it's going to be really close. Last weeks "no show" was due to a last minute family plan for Easter. Going "Banana's" for Bonanza's - I will flying a Carenado V-35B in Civil Aviation Authority colors, so y'all better be on your best behaviour.. One thing, and it may not happen on your system, is the .PLN Mike uploaded in the zip. It does not load in my FSX and it was found that the many if the waypoint IDs ex. <ATCWaypoint id="TheGabba"> is more than 5 characters. PlanG does not seem to automatically truncate to <= 5 characters when exporting. I hand truncated them ex. <ATCWaypoint id="Gabba"> and it now loads. If needed you can get the revised .PLN here. A SkyVector version of the plan is here. Guess I be ready to go now! Hope to cya on Saturday.
  7. Sven, I concur.. We should do this. Without any disrespect I did find his "home" address in lat/lon. Then created 2 plans - "Flying West". One in magnetic & one in true headings. Both start at his home airport and have multiple waypoint distances to & 1 waypoint after to keep heading.. Just preliminary in order to use waypoints for an alternate plan. It is here in both PlanG & FSX formats.
  8. Thanks again Mike. It is the best part. I share your writings with my younger ( Non Aviation ) nieces. It's the little facts that make them all in all.......... Better. Nick- may you & the family have a safe & happy Easter
  9. Please make sure to fill out the MP Spreadsheet with the exact title of the aircraft matching the paint being used. This is the only way that FS will pick the exact aircraft every time. IE No pseudo aircraft replacements using FSX's aircraft picker. Examples from various aircraft.cfgs - title=Lancair IV-P VH-LLW title=RealAir Beech Duke N1873K Winglets Ventral title=Ryan_Navion_B_N5429K_TTN title=EC135 MED Eagle III title=Aerosoft DHC-6 300 Tundra PAX title=Airbus A321 Paint5 title=Extra 300S Paint4 title=Aerosoft DHC-6 Series 300 Wheels title=Aerosoft DHC-6 Series 300 Solomon
  10. The SkyVector version of the plan is here. I will be flying the newly released FSX conversion of Milton Shupe's Aero Commander - Here. (No repaint required)
  11. PIREP 2 of 2 - A "Sausalito Sunset" Ron over the fence skirting the foliage. ( Dat's a purdy shot ) Plenty of airspeed to pitch up and catch a shot. Ron in the scout and either Nick, Craig, or Roger up ahead in a WACO ( should be a 182  ) The Sun is going down. New Chapter - The sun is going down. Everyone is going - "OOOHHH, AAAHHH, AINT DAT PURDY!" Yuuuup.. It sure is purdy. It seemed like a warm, humid sunset. 84,84 = 100% humidity = haze. Jeff enjoying the same thing... At least in my world. :-) NOW THAT'S Purdy. NOW THAT'S even Purdy' er. Jeff turning final in the Rockwell. That'll be about the last glimpse of the Sun for today. YUUUP! Jeff over the threshold as a glimmer is only left. Hard to see. But that is Mike to the right rolling out just behind Jeff. OOOPS! Forgot one! Ron is coming in barely legal for VFR Day. That little "night light" bulb under his prop turns night into day = "No Problem"! The very last glimpse of the Sun is setting. Smartly over the numbers comes Ron. All good. Over the radio it was heard - "Roll out to 14/32 and turn onto 14, taxi down on 14, turn right on the next taxiway to the right, quick left, then right - taxi to parking. The FBO is still open for cocktails." "Roger" Once again, we "will" find out what ails the world. ( Once the pub closes ) Thank You Jeff, Mike & Ron for another excellent Saturday.
  12. PIREP 1 of 2 - What a great flight! Beautiful scenery the whole way! Ron in the Scout trudging his way through a little squall. It took all of 15 minutes before that squall was gone. ( Nice! ) As Nick said - "I will be happy to park it here forever." Josh coming in over a trawler with waaaayyyy to many antennas on board. MMM?? I wonder why? Again it's Josh, working the crosswinds for One-Two @ Yorke Island (YKKI). Turned out perfect. Who ever painted these aircraft is a pure genius! :Big Grin: At YKKI it seems a whole bunch of us congregated over to the right side of the apron, coming in. There may be some kind of international espionage going on. I do believe that is Ms. Lana Kane, the supreme butt-kicker from the adult cartoon show "Archer". What do you think? TCAS from Jeff's perspective. Now.... I know that there is something going on within these islands. I've seen that same stern gentleman all over the southern Pacific including Malaysia. (MacRobertson) Now he's got an assistant. The assistant got on the cell phone soon as we arrived. (Not Good) "Let's get outta here!" A planned flyover of Sassie Island (YSAS). The "welcome" was really nice. It seems Ron ( Lower Rt Tip ) wanted to get "Sassy" and do a T & G, no worries. Josh, with just a little "puff" - Excellent! Nick, just catching the ground effect, bring it down nicely. Mike @ my 10 "oh" 15 bells. Sporting the "Charlie Brown" paint by our MP host. Ron Attwood. (Mr. Curmudgeon) Mike again at my 8:45. Note to self - clean the windows! Mike, in Charlie Brown, just over the fence and lookin' real good. (Continued, part 2... Maybe tonight, Maybe tomorrow.)
  13. Boy that was a thorn in the 'ol rear end huh? Glad you got it! :Applause: You can go to sleep now .
  14. Here is a way to change the stock FSX camera setup so that when using the multiplayer cameras a spot view is created vs. in cockpit/VC. EDIT - This is for pure FSX MP sessions. If using FS Host sessions the same type of camera is already provided via the AI view menu, no mods needed. I tried to get both a VC and a spot view to be used during MP sessions. More experimentation may be needed but I doubt it will work because the camera is instance created using the aircraft container. (FSX closed) 1. Locate the Cameras.cfg in C:\Users\USER_NAME \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX 2. Backup Cameras.cfg if wanted. (stock code vs. new is below) 3. Open up Cameras.cfg using a "raw" text editor (notepad) 4. Find the following stock code - [CameraDefinition.011] Title = Multiplayer Planes Guid = {2559BCED-9F13-4bc0-88C8-3996B9311681} Description = This is the description of the Multiplayer other aircraft view. Origin = Virtual Cockpit InstancedBased = Yes SnapPbhAdjust = None PanPbhAdjust = None TargetCategory = Container Track = TrackBank ShowAxis = Yes AllowZoom = Yes InitialZoom = 1.0 SmoothZoomTime = 2.0 ShowWeather = Yes XyzAdjust = FALSE Transition = No ShowLensFlare=FALSE Category = MultiPlayer CycleHideRadius = 7 ClipMode = Tower CycleHidden=Yes and replace the complete section with the following - [CameraDefinition.011] Title = Multiplayer Planes Guid = {2559BCED-9F13-4bc0-88C8-3996B9311681} Description = This is the description of the Multiplayer other aircraft view. Origin = Center InstancedBased = Yes SnapPbhAdjust = Ordinal SnapPbhReturn = False PanPbhAdjust = Swivel TargetCategory = Container Track = FlatChaseLocked ShowAxis = No AllowZoom = Yes InitialZoom = 1.0 SmoothZoomTime = 2.0 ShowWeather = Yes XyzAdjust = True XYZRate=15.0 Transition = No ShowLensFlare=True Category = MultiPlayer CycleHideRadius = 40 ClipMode = Spot PitchPanRate=75 HeadingPanRate=75 CycleHidden=Yes 5. Save Cameras.cfg6. Start FSX 7. Join the MP session and follow others while using spot view referenced to the player. EX. Here is Roger coming in, a little long, but it was successful with plenty of room. Supposed to be in a 182, it aliased to a WACO - cool, way better than a trike. More to come in the Torres Straits PIREP.
  15. Excellent readings Mike & Jeff. :Applause: I will be flying Ron's N5429K repaint for the Navion B w/ the excellent aquamarine colors to match the warm tropical waters. :Big Grin: (Where's spring! Got 2.5" of snow w/ sleet & freezing rain overnight - BS!) Made it to YMUI the "proper" B) way.... Used 19" & 1900 rpm to keep it in the 120kt range. Proper way = Off to figure out the scenery, pretty sure I gots most of it, no harm reinstalling what's necessary though. Finally a SkyVector rendition of paths over water can be found here.
  16. The yoke is "/" (spoiler) & the doors are standard issue FS "Shift-E" (+1, +2)
  17. Better late than never. Preflight checklist - Weight & Balance √ , Miss Lorraine √ , "Over the Water" survival supplies √ On the numbers! Lookin Good! What is this? Some kind of Beechcraft convention? Negative, not on this island. I will show you'all where to go. :-) Not a Beech convention anymore... Bry shows up in the beautiful PC-12. "#3 for take off, hold short for lineup spacing." - Wilco #3 & hold for spacing. "Saturday Evening Special, cleared for takeoff, VFR, maintain spacing." Nick was "schooling" us all day. Nary a puff 'o' smoke on the landing. Did you say formation? Five, Four, Three, Two, One, GO! Bry bringin it in nicely on the numbers. Once again, Nick giving us a lesson while being we are being "schooled". :-) What in the world is this mess. "Who's on frequency?" As with most of our recent destinations, room is at a premium. Waiting for Josh. It's hot in here. Shutn 'er down and opening up the doors to let the stank out. That radial puts out some heat whilstin the tropics. Lined up nicely. Every Saturday we discuss the problems in the world. One day we will figure it out.:-)
  18. Nick! as i said the job is yours! it was the www vs. dl - Thanks! The command line works like this.. Many screenshot programs can grab the active window but i seem to take too many pictures of the darn GPS or Radio Stack alone. PicPic is nice because of it's settings, first of all I can (through FSUIPC) set PicPic to grab a shot with complex joystick button(s) or keyboard. It just grabs a "printscreen" of all the monitors then through it's settings sends it to InfranView where it crops it only to the main FS window getting rid of the title & menu bar along with the lower announcements. (brake, P brake, slew, pause, crash etc..) It then sends it to where I want automatically making it a .jpg w/ a slight sharpness to get rid of the .jpg blurriness that occurs. In another option I can have it auto uploaded to dropbox right after it gets done processing. A little buggy, needs work, rather be flying. /clippaste /crop=(1443,62,1357,684) /sharpen=15 /jpgq=100 /convert=D:\My Pictures\FS_SCREENSHOTS\PP_OUTPUT\FS Screen $U(%m %d %Y___%H%M%Sz).jpg /killmesoftly Off to catch up w/the photos from Mustique Mystique :Black Eye:
  19. Yuuup I noticed that.. Why I have no clue..It uses the same type links as Nick & Mike.. ????
  20. YUUUUP !!! Nick can have the job! Yes I have been lacking doing the pireps. Spent the last few hours changing my screenie program & modifier. (PicPic w/ integrated InfranView using command line options in PicPic) Also changed my photo hosting to Dropbox, hopefully it will not resize & mod the photo between the host and here as Photobucket did. Also made 4 new cameras for better photo grabbing ease. Time for a libation! It was nice to have a new victim during our Saturday Soiree's. Here's Roger showing us how to turn the DC-3 while following Mike on short final. Ron planting it just short of the numbers while the high humidity causes vortex's during the flare. Another view of the otters with the photobomb! The scenery was real nice! Yes Ron, it could be a Massey Ferguson but we're here to fly!
  21. Here's the SkyVector plan. Doesn't help much except for a depiction of MEAs, valleys, rivers & creeks for visual aids.
  22. This should do the trick. Works well. http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=twidgau.zip&Author=&CatID=root
