  1. Been kind of busy lately, but I have managed to fire up FS once in awhile. Just kinda liked these shots and thought maybe you all would too!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  2. My appologies Steffan for taking so long to respond, but I see others have jumped in there with the correct answer, which of course is FSD International! The FSD International version of the Cessna "mix-master" is wonderful by the way, I love it!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  3. Actually, that's FlightZone's KPDX addon scenery for FS2004, but I would imagine MegaScenery is pretty good too.Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  4. Thanks guys, what's surprising to me, is that those default FSX VC panels (de Havilland DHC2, Maule, and the Beechcraft Baron glass panel) are really pretty good too. Its always assumed that default is "bad" addon is "good", but I'll give the boys and girls at MS credit, they did good with the FSX panels, in general.Steve (Bear) Cartwright

  7. That's FlyTampa's Dubai (UAE) addon in FS9!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  8. Just a batch of different shots from the last couple of weeks and some of the heavies I've jumped into!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  9. I agree, the detail in that Stearman is truly extraordinary.Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  10. Yeah, no problem John, that first biplane is Bill & Lynn Lyons' Travel Air and the scenery under the wings of that Stearman is Hillsboro, Oregon, which is included in FlightZone's KPDX (Portland International) payware scenery package.Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  11. Just a selection of biplanes I happen to like (and yes, they're all freeware)!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  12. Ed, I just love your L-1011, mine is such crap, LOL! It would be okay if it had the right nose on it (on mine that is), I'm embarassed to admit I actually paid money for it! As usual, your shots are outstanding!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  13. Very cool edits!Steve (Bear) Cartwright

  15. Oh......! I was pretty sure you weren't referring to a Clint Eastwood movie or the wheels on my car, I wasn't sure, but then again what do I know! :( Steve (Bear) Cartwright(by the way, my sign-in seems to be working normally now and because you know I didn't do anything, then it must of been magic or you I guess! :( Or maybe its what happens to someone my age that gets engaged to someone slightly younger than I am, slightly being 25 years or so! :( )
  16. I suppose my next question would be; what the heck is Firefox or Chrome? LOL!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  17. Have a curious problem, as when I go into any forum, it shows I'm logged in and all that, and as you can see I can post, but on the main forum menu page it says I must log in to access any forum? Interesting! Also I notice that it appears that my favorite forum "Screenshots" is gone now. Any ideas?Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  18. I'm not entirely positive, but I believe that it is a Cassault Racer, quite common around here (Reno) during the month of September!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  19. Speaking just for myself Frank, but I'm still waiting for your first dime? Betcha' you're confused at just where you're at, considering AVSIM is a free website and always has been. My real hope is that you're not a real pilot, seeing how easy you get lost between websites, can't imagine what would happen if you lived near a coast and make a 180
  20. Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, I appreciate the comments. As far as my testing of PAD Socata TB10 and TB21 Bob, all of my flight testing was performed in FS9. That is why I included the link to your website for those wishing to download additional repaints and FSX adjusted versions.Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  21. I really do hope no one misinterpeted my original statement, as this download in all respects appears to be extraordinary, it is just that I have so many aircraft loaded, with a very limited time to experiment, so I have to restrict my FS flying time to those aircraft I am fimilar with. Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  22. I think this aircraft is stunning, but I've spent way too much time trying to get the panel to work (missing gauges, funky appearing gauges and switches, popup screens with no way to remove other than by right clicking and closing window, the manual has no specific procedure for startup from a cold cockpit which it always starts in).The manual says to start up FS9 with another aircraft from the "flights" position, then change over to the Caravelle from there, but the manual (or so I haven't found yet) has no procedure for startup and after spending an hour or so, I decided to move on to one of my other aircraft.Great looking aircraft though!Steve (Bear) Cartwright
  23. >>>I consider myself a serious sim pilot trying to follow FAR's and STARs and SIDs and whatever else I can cram into a simple flight. That's what I enjoy learning and I'm always looking to add that touch more of "escapism" reality to my flight sim. FS9 as faulty and ill equipped as it is does this much more to my liking then FSX has the ability to do in near future.<<<Absolutly good point Jeff, FSX is simply going to be better geared for that type of "hard-core" functionality. My personal experience with Flight Simulator goes back to 1986 or 1987 or so (about 20 years) and frankly I really enjoyed it then on my computer (Commadore64 I think).I really didn't feel there was much improvement until FS98, which I still have sitting here on my shelf. When FS2000 came out, that's when the most noticeable improvement in scenery was made, as we went from that poly-block to layered texturing. Unfortunately, FS2000 was a bit ahead of the available hardware and ran poorly on most home systems. FS2002 changed all that and was a terrific flight sim. The visual difference between FS2000 and FS2002 was best described as WOW, while the changes or improvements between FS2002 and FS2004 were best represented by WOW, while between FS2004 and FSX, wow would be more appropriate.Does that make FSX bad, absolutely not, based on everything I've seen its a terrific sim and is an important move forward with the franchise. I purchased one copy (FSX) for myself and have since received an additional copy from Microsoft/AVSIM. I gave one of them away to a friend, whom had never seen Flight Simulator before FSX. He is absolutely enthralled by it and has now gotten a couple of co-workers involved and they too have purchased copies. These fellows work for a customer of mine and now everytime I go into that business (a local Ford Dealer), they corner me to ask questions about this and that. Their personal comments have been very positive about FSX and its been the missions, wide-variety of aircraft, and the general overall appearance of the scenery that has them hooked. Are they wrong, of course not, they are precisely the core model of individual Microsoft was hoping to attract! (one of the guys was absolutely stunned to see elephants walking across the African plains or birds flying over an Alaska inlet)There's two things that are most important about rather I feel FSX is better than FS9 or the other way around. First, that's an irrelavant question which means absolutely nothing to anyone, they're both great flight sims; and secondly Flight Simulation is about flying and I enjoy the fact that I can chose to fly a Piper J-3 Cub, a WWII combat aircraft, or maybe I can jump in the Concorde and fly it across the pond, whatever, its your choice and rather I choose to fly in FSX or FS9, well that's my choice too, neither answer makes me wrong and neither makes me right either.
