  1. Is this with the latest NVIDIA driver? I'm assuming you're using an NVIDIA card.
  2. Agree with @C2615. I've enjoyed flying the Captain Sim B757 over the years. It has its quirks and features, but it offers a reasonable simulation of flying a B757 (I know "reasonable" is subjective). What are the risks? CS offers no customer support for their P3D products. But before they implemented this policy their customer support was weak. Still, their forum serves as a good repository of knowledge for common problems. You will think the product is still too expensive, and I agree. It was discounted to $75.70 (cute, but still too expensive). Suggest waiting until they have a sale. I've seen it as low as $25. What if you change your mind after purchase. No luck, their products are non-refundable. Have you considered the 757 Jetliner FREEMIUM from Just Flight?
  3. Since you're saying that your FMC does not show up any airports, suggest you post in the PMDG forum or open a trouble ticket with PMDG. The NGXu comes with a good database of airports. You should not have to upgrade this database of airports to show the ones included with the NGXu.
  4. Then you may be seeing default scenery buildings. I see you mentioned this at the simmarket page for the Alpine Simulations Philadelphia CityScape product. Hopefully the developer will answer your request. I suppose one could use Airport Design Editor to exclude default buildings in that area.
  5. Try backing up and then removing files _cityextras.bgl and _cityextras_pl.bgl.
  6. Some are disappointed because: LM doesn't talk as much as other vendors They spent so much money on P3D add-ons and they speculate P3D may go away (see #1) Most developers have "abandoned" P3D Developers have not moved fast enough to create the same products in MSFS as they have in P3D, and when they finally do, because these products are not free (after all we purchased them for P3D) Did I missed one? We voluntarily bought P3D and the add-ons. We enjoyed and are enjoying P3D and the add-ons. Have we gotten our money's worth? I think so.
  7. Are you trying to delete some gauges that are part of a 2D panel so that you can add new ones in the space occupied by the ones you want to remove, or are you trying to modify a gauge or gauges to have a different function?
  8. @Pitter, Yes. See this video as an example of how someone uses NVIDIA control panel. There are others.
  9. I see default scenery though I'm not sure. We know that Randolph AFB was made by ORBX for P3D, but note that the towns around the base are not depicted, like Universal City just outside the main gate. Does it matter for this kind of pilot training? I don't think so. We would like it to be photo real because it's important for what we simulate. I think flight schools teaching pilots to fly VFR would also like a photo real landscape showing features like antennas, smokestacks, etc. around their practice area because that's important in VFR training. FSX and P3D make a fairly good attempt to show these ground features, but it's not exactly as some would prefer. Again, my bet is that LM will focus on what matters the most to their main customers. We're lucky we have had the option to use P3D since before other simulators came to market.
  10. @Benbo, As Bob pointed out, it's just that simple. You can use the menu way, Scenerio/Save, or simply press the ; key. P3D will save the situation or scenario and the PMDG NGXu will automatically save its panel state. When you're ready to resume, load the scenario. It may take a couple of seconds for the NGXu to load the state, but it works. It doesn't work like this with all add-on aircrafts. This is why Bob suggested checking the add-on documentation first.
  11. @Benbo, yes. Just fly the aircraft to the point you would like to begin and press P for pause. Then use Scenario/Save on the menu. This allows you to save that scenario. When you want to repeat it, simply use Scenario/Load.
  12. If so, we don't know what would the default airport scenery would be like. There may not be a need for new airport scenery. I know that typically default airport scenery isn't as detailed as custom, but my point is that we only know what we know and should not fear or worry about what's out of our control. At any rate, you would still have P3Dv5 to use with the airports that you like. Developers gravitate to the platform that brings them the most revenue.
  13. This is subjective. When was the end of the road for FS9 or FSX? For some it's when developers stop producing for it, but for others these simulators continue to be enjoyed by many. Still, there are some developers that so far have either products in their queues or modification/enhancements, i.e., iFly, PMDG, FSLabs, etc. So, on the developer side and on the enjoyment side I would say it isn't the end of the road for P3D yet. Clearly it isn't the end of the road for discussions about being the end of the road. 🙂
  14. If the Addon Scenery\scenery folder is physically there but it's not listed in your Scenery Library, then you can add it to your Scenery Library using FSX. If the folder isn't there, then you can create it, then add it to the FSX Scenery Library.
  15. @Len1940, Which new scenery did you install? If this new scenery did not include an ILS for 05R, you can add it with Airport Design Editor.
  16. @Berlopez, where can I find this scenery? I see it for FS9 in the avsim library but not for FSX.
  17. Yes, that's the main thing. I also deactivated the terrain layer and removed the default buildings that show up once the terrain layer is deactivated and the field altitude adjusted. I went ahead and updated all the gates per the latest charts and STL airport gate information. I even designated E29 as the Lufthansa gate on terminal 2 now that LHS offers service to FRA from STL. Does anyone know if I can share the modified .bgl file?
  18. Thank you @blaunarwal, I was able to make it work using your tutorial. Regards, David
  19. Start by clearing your shader cache.
  20. Thank you Bob. Could you be thinking about a different Taxi2Gate airport? I can only find a Taxi2Gate KSTL for FSX and for FS4. Regards, David
  21. Does anybody know how to make Taxi2Gate's KSTL work in P3Dv5? The scenery installs OK, both Terrain and scenery. I have them in the correct order. KSTL_FSX KSTL_FSX_TERRAIN But I end up seeing mounds on the runways, specially 12L-30R and on the north side of the field. This also seems to be dynamic--the mounds do not show in the same place every time. If I disable KSTL_FSX_TERRAIN, the whole field looks buried and I see the default scenery buildings in the middle of the custom scenery buildings. Appreciate any help. David
  22. simMarket is having a sale, including airports from Technobrain.
  23. Like others said, I also recommend not upgrading with only 4gb of video ram, but you could purchase a refurbished 1080ti with 11gb for around $300. That's what I have and never had a video memory related problem with P3Dv5.
