  1. I just noticed this May 25 post on the //42 Discord channel from OMGEDSON: About ChasePlane / Prepar3D v5.4 Compatibility - As with any sim update, this takes time and ensuring the LM release is stable before we go in and dedicate work hours to build an update. It's coming. Seems to be good news ... ?

    Final words

I just read about your wife, Noel. My sincere condolences at her passing. May her memory be a blessing.
  3. I'm so sorry to read this. You and your wife will be in my thoughts. Best wishes, Joel
  4. Neither have I. I've completed more than 11 flights of about 1.0 to 1.5 hours with no CTDs and no falling out of the skies. In fact, I've found it to be one of the most stable v1.0 releases in recent memory.
  5. It has something to do with the chocks. Remove them and the jumping goes away. IIRC, this was mentioned on the iFly forum and the developers are looking into it. In fact, they're looking into a number of issues with v1.0, including the "insufficient fuel" notification. I highly recommend the iFly forum: as pointed out earlier, the developers are really active. The MAX8-specific forums can be found here: http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/ifly-advanced-series-737max-licensed-member-forums_forums_cat7.html
  6. My son is a professional drummer who also teaches (he has a B.Mus. in Jazz Studies), and he's described to me just this very scenario. As Barry said above, it makes my head hurt just trying to follow along when he explains it. By the way, I find it ironic that when he was in elementary and high school, he found mathematics difficult, but as a professional, he does all sorts of complicated math in his head without thinking as he's drumming.
  7. It's a pre-Festivus miracle! Again, thanks, Steve!
  8. Ooooooh ... Christmas is arriving early! Thanks, Steve!
  9. חַג שָׂמֵחַ Chag Sameach, Aharon!
  10. Hmm ... I'm not seeing that. Could this be a configuration issue? There is a posting in the 737 MAX FAQ forum on ifly.flight1.net (here: http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/can-i-use-the-tiller_topic20609.html) that might be of help. That said, I configure my tiller differently from the FAQ posting and it seems to work fine. I use the payware FSUIPC to send the axis I use to "FS as normal axis" and then calibrate the steering tiller in 9 of 11: Pan axes (etc). Seems to work fine for me, but YMMV.
  11. It does. I tried this last night and to my surprise, it worked.
  12. Argh ... I missed the September 2023 ETA. Yeah ... I'm not going to spend the equivalent of CAD $110 just before Christmas for something I won't see until Fall next year.
  13. FYI ... TFDi Design just announced on Facebook that the MD-11 will be "available for pre-sale at 1200Z/0700EST/0500PST later on today." For me, that would be tomorrow, December 1. More info here: https://tfdidesign.com/md11.php
  14. And if we give you AC and WestJet, it may help solidify that decision, eh Joel? 🙂 Absotively posilutely! I've been waiting for a 737 Max to fly on Virtual Air Canada (vacanada.org), so the iFly 737 Max is a must-buy. 🙂
  15. Great! I was going to request an Air Canada livery, but no need to now.
  16. Disappointing, but not surprising, really. I find that these days, I'm flying a limited number of aircraft anyway: FSLabs Airbuses, PMDG 737s, iFly Advanced 737s, Aerosoft CRJs, and Majestic Q400. I'm really trying to fly these aircraft well. Although I have MSFS, I currently don't have it installed, so P3D v5.3 is the only sim on my desktop. Even with the limited aircraft above, I tend to spend the great majority of my time flying the FSLabs Airbuses and the 73x ... so no loss for me, really, if JustFlight stopped development on their P3D aircraft.
  17. Same as in Canada, as is the change to King's Counsel (as it's spelt here)
  18. Sorry for the pedantry, but years of post-secondary Latin studies tend to have an influence ... "R" stood for "Regina" for Queen Elizabeth II, but it will stand for "Rex" for Charles III.
  19. For the Canadian perspective concerning what happens next … https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/canada-plan-queen-elizabeth-death-1.6575741?__vfz=medium%3Dsharebar
  20. A sad day for us in Canada as well. May she rest in peace. She's been the Queen for my entire life; it's going to be an adjustment to think of the King now ... King Charles III. On a side note, it will be interesting to see how long it will take for our money and stamps to change--if indeed they do change.
  21. Not in BC, Canada: more than 90% of our electricity is generated by dams. Source: https://www.bchydro.com/energy-in-bc/operations/generation.html
  22. Most utilities have already been planning for EVs. See Myth #7 here: https://www.bchydro.com/news/conservation/2021/ev-myths-busted.html
  23. I don’t know anything about the US power grid, but if it’s anything like what we have here in BC, Canada, power utilities have been planning for increasing EV adoption numbers for some time. BC Hydro is the electricity utility in BC, and according to this webpage, planning for EVs has already started (see “Myth No. 7”).
