  1. I highly recommend Alpha India Group AI traffic: https://www.alpha-india.net/. Check out AIG Manager, with one-click install. It takes a bit of time to install it, but it's worth it.
  2. Yeah, me, too. I always forget to do this after updating. Indeed, when I updated to 5.2 last week, I saw some unfamiliar liveries and then realized that they were default AI. I couldn't remember how to disable them, either.
  3. Thanks, @gporzio. I may just end up uninstalling my FSLabs and installing 5.2 ... my curiosity is getting the better of me. 🙂
  4. I'm not crying. You're crying. Wow ... that was beautiful.
  5. Did you try disabling FSLabs aircraft in the add-on menu first? Would doing so have worked instead? I'm tempted to install v5.2, but I know that the FSLabs aircraft are not compatible (yet). I really don't want to uninstall my FSLabs aircraft and all their liveries. Does anyone know if simply unchecking the entry (or entries?) in the add-on menu works?
  6. Sorry, not at my flight simming computer at the moment. I live in Greater Vancouver and fly frequently out of CYVR both in P3Dv5 and in real life (at least before the pandemic). This may not be helpful, but with the addition of FSimStudio's CYVR, downtown Vancouver is well-populated with recently-built skyscrapers, and BC Place has its relatively new roof.
  7. Thanks. It's not often that one sees funny obituaries, and that has to be one of the funniest I've ever read. Mr. Cassidy must have had a great sense of humour, and bravo to his family for following through in that vein with the obit. Gotta say, though, that I'm the same age as Mr. Cassidy. That kinda hit home.
  8. I suggest that you open a ticket with PMDG Customer Support.
  9. In the Boeing FMC, there is no DIRECT TO button, as you've indicated: on the FMC, you have to select the waypoint you want (push the left line select key next to the name) so that it appears in the scratchpad. You then click on the current waypoint (the top one) to replace it with the waypoint you selected. You'll then have to execute the command. See this short (31 second) YouTube clip for a real world example with a 747 FMC. Same concept in the 737, though.
  10. This almost happened to me in Japan. I was crossing a busy street in Nagoya and was about to step off the sidewalk when my Japanese friend pulled me back suddenly. I had instinctively looked left and had started to cross the street when I didn't see any oncoming traffic. I was shocked at how inattentive I had been ... but I learned my lesson.
  11. Thanks again, @BostonJeremy77. Our settings are similar: the only difference is that I have payware airports. Hmm. Going to spend my Saturday morning doing some testing.
  12. Thanks, @BostonJeremy77! I'm going to try your settings. One more thing ... do you have any air traffic set? I use AIM and have set airliners and GA to 70%.
  13. @BostonJeremy77 ... whoa! That's great! You don't get VRAM out-of-memory errors? What's your memory usage with these settings?
  14. I have a few airliners that I fly regularly, and out of them all, the FSLabs 319 and 32x get the lion's share of my time.
  15. Wow! Thanks for the head's up.
  16. Nice! What settings are you using?
  17. I have a 2060 with 6 gigs, and I use both P3D v5 and the Maddog with no CTDs. I've pared down my settings and don't use EA.
  18. No problem, Ray. None taken. Canadian English is an interesting hybrid: our vocabulary is (i) strongly influenced by our neighbour to the south, but (ii) we hold onto our past, especially in our spellings. At the same time, (iii) we have vocabulary that is all our own and not found in other English-speaking countries with quite the same use. Examples: for (i), we use "trunk," "hood," "truck," and "elevator," as all are used in the States, but not "boot," "bonnet," "lorry," and "lift" as is used in England. For (ii), we hold onto our "-our" spellings, as in "neighbour" as I used above, and the letter "z" is pronounced "zed," not "zee." For (iii), we use "parkade," "washroom" (not "restroom" or "lavatory"), "toque," "loonie," "twoonie," and a whole host of others that our American and British friends might struggle to understand. I believe that we share some similarities with Australian English, although I would guess there are fewer Americanisms in use there.
  19. "Arithmetic" is still used for simple calculations in Canada. For example, elementary school-aged children study arithmetic. That said, I think that "math" is also used as well ... as in the "new math" that started being taught in elementary schools years ago. Anyway, math is used at higher levels as well. I was the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science and Horticulture for a number of years at a local university (I moved onto a directorship in November, 2020), and Math was one of the seven departments and programs in the Faculty. So ... math was taught (e.g., MATH 1100) in the Math Department. 🙂
  20. Well, to be fair, it's called "math" in Canada, too.
  21. Another thing to try is to reboot your computer. I know, I know ... seems obvious, but even I get caught by this every now and then.
  22. I have a custom-built (in May 2020) computer with an i7-10700K, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 2060 with 6 GB VRAM. I was running P3D v4.5 with no issues, but I also bought v5 since I was moving from my old computer to the custom-built. Now that I look back, I really should have bought a 2080, now that it's next to impossible for me to get any video cards in Greater Vancouver or even in Canada ... but hindsight is 20/20. Oh well. Anyway, I was really disappointed with the initial rollout of v5: I had lots of CTDs, probably some of which were associated with TrueGlass, as well as VRAM-related memory issues, when I tried to run EA, even with pretty low settings. So ... I soon installed v4.5 on my new system and all my aircraft and add-ons, and I was a pretty happy camper. Recently, there was discussion on AVSIM about v5.1 with the latest hotfixes, especially since TrueGlass had been updated. I was tempted to try v5 again, so I updated my v5, which was at 5.0 because I had stopped using it before the updates and hotfixes. With judicious use of the sliders in settings, I'm happily running v5.1 and have stopped using v4.5. Even with bad weather while in heavy scenery areas, I don't exceed 3.5 GB of VRAM with any of my add-on aircraft, and I haven't experienced any CTDs or VRAM issues. Of course, there is a sacrifice: I don't use EA, and some of the aircraft I like to fly haven't been updated for 5.1. Again ... oh well. So ... I'm now thinking of uninstalling v4.5 entirely. I'm happy with v5.1, given the limitations of my video card, but the pluses outweigh the minuses for me. Of course ... YMMV.
  23. Not to highjack the thread, but ... I live in Greater Vancouver and pre-pandemic flew in and out of CYVR regularly on business. FSimStudios CYVR (ORBX) is much better than FSDT CYVR: more up to date and overall a better representation of the airport and surroundings. The former also includes updates of buildings in downtown Vancouver (FSDT CYVR doesn't), including BC Place Stadium.
