  1. You are not in managed mode on the altitude selector like you are with the speed and heading, notice the dot on the right side of each? Hover the mouse over the ALT selector knob until you see an up arrow, click on it once and a dot will appear on the right side of the altitude selection. Clicking on a down arrow will place the aircraft in manual mode. There is a flashing indicator "LVR CLB" - you need to move your throttle to the CLB detent. Best to read the manual or follow a tutorial to get up to speed on the Airbus A320.
  2. Hi Rod, Hmm, not sure what's going on. When I can't remember how to set the programs up I watch the vid. Are there checks in ASCA Settings "Enabled content"? Have you been in touch with the folks at TOGA? https://www.togaprojects.com/forum
  3. Hi Rod, Where the ASCA folder is selected is the "ASCA Integration" green button in the ENVTEX ui turned on? In ASCA settings are the ENVTEX entries listed in "Wx Configuration"? This YouTube vid by Capt. Vince is a little dated but may help. He has more up to date vids in his "Video" page related to ENVTEX and ASCA.
  4. I just saw the aircraft parked at Vancouver International Airport today.
  5. I like how the TCA can be adapted to any dual engine aircraft, it can also be used for turboprops. I saw the post you linked to the other day, why did you add the switches yourself? When I saw the post I wondered how easy it would be to buy the same innards as the TCA and 3D print a body in and make my own Boeing TCA. I think I will leave that up to the experts at Guillemot/Thrustmaster. I still think it would be an easy sell for them. Next thing they should try is a force feedback yoke. I really like my Brunner yoke but it would be really nice if it was an exact replica of a Boeing yoke.
  6. If you are restoring default Prepar3D textures using ASCA all you have to do is uninstall it from Program Files manually then the remaining folder in AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASCA and that should take care of everything.
  7. I noticed a huge perf drop when selecting tiller steering (button pushed in) and one of the on-screen warning windows that appears at the top as a green bar. As soon as I deselected the warning option in the CDU the perf issue went away.
  8. I really hope that someone at the Thrustmaster Company reads this. It appears to be an odd combo, airbus throttle, spoiler and flap unit (grey) and a Boeing FMS (brown). I think that Thrustmaster needs to design and market a Boeing TCA unit, I mean come on, they have done an awesome job with the Airbus TCA and they have the money to do it! I think they will sell a lot of units especially in North America, South America and the Middle East. I received my Thrustmaster TCA Airbus package this week and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The throttle, sidestick and flap and speed-brake addon is a nice touch and adds a sense of reality to computer flying. The units are sturdy and I am sure will last for years. They are very well built and with the turn of a few screws the cam that controls the lever positions can be switched to move without the detents. After plugging the units in, downloading and installing the drivers they were ready to go in both X-Plane and MSFS. Unfortunately they have not been programmed for Prepar3D and axis assignments need to be added. I really hope they produce the Boeing TCA - It will be an instant purchase for me. Do yourself a favor and get these beauties! Rob
  9. I have deleted the cfg file seems like a hundred times. Did nothing. The CTD guide should help find the answer, I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there.
  10. Have you tried deleting the FSX.cfg? That is what used to fix it for me. Have a look at the AVSIM CTD Guide if that does not help: https://www.avsim.com/files/file/93-avsim-ctd-guide/
  11. Damian has not been active on the HiFi forums for a while so I take that as being that he and Kostas are working night and day on Active Sky for MSFS. MSFS weather is close but it would be very nice to have accurate weather around aerodromes, I can deal with MSFS weather enroute but the airport weather must be bang on.
  12. Have you right-clicked and "Locked" the instruments? See the video at 1' 26"
  13. You would have heard it from https://twitter.com/RAF_Luton if the story was RAF related.
  14. Strange indeed David. I have not had any CTD's since installing it upon release. I did have an issue on the weekend where all of the sudden there wasn't any "autogen" - MSFS looked like a vanilla FSX installation. A reinstall resolved that issue. I love the fact that you can set MSFS installation up overnight and the sim is ready the next morning.
  15. Very interesting, glad that resolved the CTD's for you Bob. Hopefully the remedy works for Boeing_Driver.
  16. Any errors in Windows Event Viewer? Have you tried running sfc /scannow in the CMD prompt? Check the registry for a numbered folder that does not contain a subfolder labeled "MutablePackagesOnline" and delete that empty folder. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\PackageVolumes
  17. Thanks, good to know. I just noticed that live traffic is not working either so there must be a server/data issue on their end. I have submitted a Zendesk request.
  18. Is it just me or has something changed? Live weather does not work even if using the "Clear Skies" workaround and the terrain and autogen looks really sparse. I have cleared out my community folder of all 3rd party sceneries and the sim still looks terrible. The rolling cache is active.
  19. Geez, I was ready and willing to jump on a 737-8 using almost any airline out of Vancouver. After reading Mr. Peirson's report I now have second thoughts. Definitely appears that the bean counters are mostly to blame. Unfortunately their influence can be felt in manufacturing all over the world, gone are the days of promoting from within based on drive and work ethics and it shows in everyday items that we use.
  20. Great suggestion. I have been getting good results by setting Clear Weather in the flight setup menu then changing to live weather once the flight loads, works well for me.
  21. I have the CLS-E NG yoke and love it, agree their communication is somewhat spotty at best. Stefan Brunner has released a number of profiles and most aircraft types are covered so you can copy/rename and edit his profiles to suit your needs. You will have to create an account in order to download the CLS2Sim software at the Media/Software Download Page then after running the installer you have to navigate to the Bruner folder in Program Files (x86) and run the various sim plugin installers. There isn't one for MSFS, rather it uses the FSX profile. Before connecting you must launch the CLS2Sim.exe and select the FSX/MSFS radial but you cannot select the MSFS.exe MS/ASOBO have not given permission to do so. Once the CLS2Sim software is active connect to the yoke and then initialize it. Start MSFS and once in the flight screen head back to the desktop (Windows key) and press "Connect." You should feel the FF effect then. Good luck! Rob
  22. Hi Noel, Your story got me all choked up. I've always felt that coming from humble beginnings makes for a better life later on. Thanks for sharing. Robert
  23. Try it the next time you are in a meeting and you want people to take you seriously.
