  1. Electric Fuel pump? Try to switch it off, you don't need it with engines running (normally) ...Eagle
  2. Wild!Do you remember the movie "Mars Attacks" where the Marsians only said "gak-gak gak-gak-gak" through the whole film. That was originally just dummy sound FX from the sound designers, but the director (Tim Burton i think) loved it, and kept it.With a little renaming you can swap the sounds and make a toy-chopper with ready-made sound!Eagle
  3. Instead of doing all the time-consuming searches here and there, you can get it all here:http://www.fox-fam.com/wordpress/?page_id=41This made it work well for me, actually it's very smooth now :-)Alcott, I always wonder why you spend so much time reading and responding to posts, telling people not to post at all. Maybe all this searching takes more time than necessary for someone ...Eagle
  4. ... doesn't work. Sorry to post here but the feelthere forum doesn't work either (doesn't recognise my old user/password and "forgot password" link just hangs.First, I don't like this sort of patch at all, it looks very rushed out and unfinished. Please provide us with ONE install file instead of this 4 step process where half of them doesn't work and after a lot of reading and fooling around i get this:1. First FSX boot after installing patch

  6. Yack!!!This setting was for me a timemachine back to fs9-ati-shimmering-havoc-land!Your intentions are surely good, but this one is only for those who fly over photoscenery w/o autogen ...Eagle
  7. I'm not kidding! I have been working with Dreamweaver all day. First time I select a path to a stylesheet I get no help. Later I get help to chose the path, based on earlier choices and even filenames that matches the target in some way. And, my mobile suggest the next word in message composer based on earlier choices. Why shouldn't the sim have something like this? It's not magic, it's programming. Dreamweaver stores the info in textfiles.Btw, what are those folders in my Scenery folder named 0000 0001 0002 etc.? Did I put them there? Some installer? Santa?Eagle
  8. During the fs9 history we have seen a tendency towards more framerate-friendly addons. Compare the Aeroft FrameRateHog, sorry ... Worthog ... with the same company's cooperative release, the fabulous DO-27. The Hog is a 32 bit monster with the slowest gauges on earth, while the DO is light as a feather (frameratewise that is). Also take a closer look at GE Pro and Active Sky Graphics. They both are top notch addons for fs9, without slowing the sim down. They even can be configured to make fs9 perform better. My guess and hope is that this tendency will continue with fsx ...Eagle
  9. My mobile is learning my habits, so is the Mac OS X. I think this is beginning to become normal for some software. Let's hope this is the case for FSX. In some other areas this sim is stone age; the map is still the old gamestopping-mini-hard-to-move-around-in-bad-excuse-for-a-map-thing, and the numbers in fuel and load dialogs still has strange select and tab behaviour. As if they forgot to fix both in fs9 and fsx ...Eagle
  10. Then it's placebo, cause it was cloudy and foggy. Placebo is good enough for me though ;-).Eagle
  11. Funny you should say that. yesterday I had the same feeling flying over Athens with traffic both in the air, on the roads and at sea. And the game was surprisingly smooth for an area that dense :-)Eagle
  12. Thanks a lot!Of course I did buy it (always do), I think it's great fun to fly although a bit strange with its tendency of flying like a jet trainer with piston sound :-cool.The way the gauges are constructed? The only way from now on please developers!Eagle
  13. Anyone tried the Australian Simulation Glasair III in FSX yet. I'm looking for a top notch GA, and this one is speedy, looks good, has smooth gauges and all. But how is it to fly? Are the systems and nav/gps facilities well done? Flight model any good?Eagle
  14. You can have mine :-)http://9ls1.no/fs/default.xmlEagle
  15. Hi,Yesterday I almost gave up FSX. Reason: The texture/autogen mismatch was soooo ugly I just couldn't stand it. With large areas with no autogen, but flat photos of buildings, side by side with large areas with small square houses.Of course I had renamed default.xml to default.bak a long time ago, but when I reactivated it today I understood how much this has to say with the attempt of creating a "world". It's not only the local 7/11, it's a multitude of important info there, for all kinds of buildings, even based on local info, like "European warehouse" or "US warehose".So guys, maybe the sim gets unflyable with this one on, I lose 5fps, but I'll do every other tweak in the world before I rename this file again!!!Eagle
  16. >First enter complaint here-............>Answer->>DX10 and Visa will greatly improve it.>>End of generic response........So "Visa" is the generic solution to any problem. Well, you're probably right ;-).Eagle
  17. Happends to me too. The progress bar doesn't load scenery i think. Looks like it's traffic. Maybe it's them cars when you go from ants to more detailed cars, that makes sense, since we often see thin on approach.I'll try w/o car-traffic next time I fly ...Eagle
  18. Hi,I have only a long series of upgrades all the way from 4.5. With no fs9 present I get all sorts of problems when I try installing AS. One update is dependent of another that is dependent of another that refuses to install because ...Is there some full 6.5 available somewhere?Eagle
  19. Me, I'm better off with the built-in view options than Active Camera (which is fine with fs9 of course)I assigned some of the joystick buttons to move left/rigt/forward/backwards/up/down. By pushing the "a" key I also get the perfect shortcut for important places in the pit, in the stock airplanes that is. My guess is that this will be taken care of in payware aircrafts eventually. Also remember to get familiar with the new view functions in FSX, like the "Nearest Tower", and different views like wingview and tail view.Actually my goal with this new sim is to familiarize with it as much as possible to avoid creating a need for extras. I'd rather spend money on new planes and scenery :-). The built in map is a sad story thoug ...Edit: forgot to mention the fabulous space bar functions; space hold and hat key to look around, space once to stop head latency when you're drunk and wanna hit that button ;-), and space hold + mouse wheel to zoom! Eagle
  20. Oh, but you got to have 2G RAM to avoid the slideshow. Also maybe reduce some textures to 50%. I think it runs acceptable now on my system, AMD3500+/nVidia 7800GT/2G RAM/19inch TFT at 1280x1024. But I would think twice for a less powerful system. Also I really miss some of my addons, mostly the DO-27. In general, the new sim has a lot to offer :-).Eagle
  21. Stuff from CS usually have som good qualities about them. But I've learned not to consider anything from them finished until every bits and pieces are released, maybe patched once, and reviewed here at Avsim. Wish it was different, but I've already transformed to FSX and have a strange feeling that my unfinished 757 was wasted money. After all, the missing block is by far the most important one ...Eagle
  22. >I have the same issue with my 7900GTO using the latest>drivers.>>You can fix it by unchecking "land detail textures" in>display/scenery config. Not sure if the drivers are at fault,>or if its a card specific problem. You'll lose the>pseudo-grass effect, but the water madness should disappear>along with it.>>Hope that helps. Cheers.>>Ooooh, i hope this isn
  23. Thank you snekgiant, let me know if you find out anything please, I'll do the same :-)Eagle
  24. * Smoother, denser and more lively (not kiddding)* Improved view (learn some new keybord shortcuts like the combination of the "s" and "a" key an the space and space hold!), easily select nearest tower etc., move around in the VC, no need for Active Camera.* Improved Force Feedback (No need for FS Force)* Head latency* At least I get a better overall sense of flying (not qualified, but still)* Much better autogen (although I hope GE Pro for FSX will provide better colors)* Working pushback truck and luggage truck for the airliners* Improved ATCI could go on for a long time but I have to sleep now! Every time I fly FSX some new cewl stuff shows up. I was a bit sceptic at first, but that was mainly because I had to reduce too many settings in the demo. After 2 hours of tweaking and one extra gig memory I got a very smooth sim.Yes there are problems, I'm having serious trouble with water textures at dusk/dawn (another post), but my first time with fs9 was worse. Much worse!Friendly advice coming: Give it one gig ram and some care, and you'll love it! If in doubt, take a flight at dusk with the Goose :-)Eagle
