The World Map is a useless and clunky performance hog. Nothing there that you couldn't do from a simple menu: pick time, departure, arrival, weather, plane, done. The best thing for MSFS would be if Microsoft decided to buy up Navigraph and integrate charts and simbrief functionality directly into the sim.

Are we in the calm before the storm?
Ricardo41 replied to ca_metal's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Not on avsim..... -
There are no "other flight sim groups" that are somehow entitled to "engagement" from Microsoft. Microsoft released the trailer where it felt its main audience is. I have no idea what you mean by "core flight simmers"-

If I understand this correctly, MSFS is finally moving away from on the of the dullest conventions in the sim, the utterly boring "World Map". Now I can start with a mission and a purpose, be it mountain rescue, cargo transport, biz jet executive service, airline operations, etc. A huge win in my book. Hopefully, we'll be able to sort these missions by various parameters, for example, time, for those of us who only have limited time.

Out of the loop: performance to expect
Ricardo41 replied to francy25's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
There is. It's called "enjoying the game". And not turning it into a Power Point presentation. Thank God MSFS took away the fps counter. -
Out of the loop: performance to expect

No, depending on settings, more like 30-50 -
Performance Bottleneck of 2023: Your Old TV
Ricardo41 replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I'm running MSFS on a 1440p monitor with all settings to high and am getting 30-50 fps even at complex airports. Works for me. I stopped worrying about performance and frame rates a long time ago. -
Instrument popups - I miss it sooo much...

Don't miss it all. -
This thread makes a strong case for using Vatsim.....

No, he's just plain rude and insults people. Simple as that. No need to sugarcoat this.

Connection Drop Issue with AAU2 _What to do now?
Ricardo41 replied to Anxu00's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
What does your internet issue have to do with an Avionics upgrade? -
A2A to focus on MSFS for entertainment products
Ricardo41 replied to abrams_tank's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I agree MSFS 2024 is the only future for flight simulation. Developers who don't realize this will soon be staring at empty bank accounts. -
AAU2 787 vs Qualitywings 787
Ricardo41 replied to captain420's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
AAU2 probably killed for good whatever ambitions QW may have had to bring their 787 to MSFS. This is what happens when you sit on your hands. Someone swallows up your market. -
AAU2 787 vs Qualitywings 787
Ricardo41 replied to captain420's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
There is no QW 787 for MSFS. -
MSFS 2020 runs well on lower-end hardware. MSFS will probably, too.

Did you report this to the creator? He's very active on flightsim.to and also on WT's Discord channel

Mod Works like a charm. No issues. Compatible with AAU1.

Questions regarding the latest cj4 after aau2
Ricardo41 replied to hughbutcher's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
The "Wooslemod" fixes issues and provides features that should have been there from the beginning. I really don't understand why doors opening and closing wasn't part of the default package. -
MSFS Team Reflects on Their First FSExpo
Ricardo41 replied to Krakin's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
You keep reading things into things that simply aren't there and points that nobody argued. The fact of the matter is that MSFS 2020 gave ALL simulators a new lease on life. I'd even go so far as to argue that the continued existence of flight simulation IN GENERAL depends to a significant degree on the ongoing success of the MSFS franchise. -
The entire sim is "inaccurate". It's all make believe. If you believe it, then it is so.
