  3. I am starting to fly the PMDG 737ng legacy aircraft again-- after many years, I still love this model.I wonder if you guys can help me find the best repaints for this aircraft. I am particularly insterested in current American Ailines, Delta, United/Continental and United 738 WINGLET liveries, I can also use some Southest Airlines liveries.Additionally, can you recommend the best replacement sounds set for this plane? One more thing, are there any panel modifications that are worthwile?I don't mind paying for the above repaints, sounds and panel mods so payware is fine with me.How about any improved or optimized FDE?Thank you in advance!Kerke

  4. I have a similar machine (XPS-410, 4G, GTX240, QQ6600 @2.6Mhz)I had ok performance with FSX before re-installing using Nick's Guide and Bojote's tweaks. Now I run with an external limiter set to 30fps, and I get very improved performance. I am actually running under Vista HP.I would think that your best bet would be the 64 bit OS.
Would you mind posting a link to Nick's Guide and Bojote's tweaks? Thank you!!!

  5. I will try to run FSX on my old Dell XPS 410, which has 8GB RAM, Intel Core2 2.4GHz CPU and NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB graphics.First question, regardless of what operating system I install, will FSX be 'usable' on a weak machine like this?If I instal FSX on this machine, what OS will give me the best performance: Windows XP 32bit or Windows 7 64 bit?Thank you in advance,Kerke

  6. Simba-nl:I understand that English is not your first language. You did not understand my post. I was not criticizing you - I was criticizing Mr D.Shutt for his mistakes. I fully support you and everybody else who has had trouble with the official Level D forum. I find the attitude of Mr Shutt in this forum unacceptable and I criticize him when I think he is wrong or rude to people. You said "Seems to me that I kicked the holy Level-D church" and I said - agreeing with you! - "Kick that Church!". There is another post here from another person that is supporting you, but perhaps you did not understand that.I am sorry you were banned from the official forum, but it was not my fault. Many people have been banned because they complain, talk about bugs, dont "kiss &@($*".From the day the 767 was released Level D did not accept any criticism. Their attitude is: "Our product is perfect. You do not have the right to criticize or question us".You will always find support at this non-official forum, but please be more careful with your English.May I ask - what is your first language?A note to all forum readers: please remember that many many simmers do not speak English as their first language. They make a great effort to express themselves correctly in these forums, so it would be correct for all of us to make an equally great effort to understand - and help - them.
northridge, thank you for your post. I avoid posting in the "official" Level-D 767 forum to avoid receiving wise-&@($* replies from that guy DShut. I've been flying the LDS 767 since it first came out many many years ago and it is still my favorite aircraft. Fortunately, I have 3 friends who fly the real-world 767 (American Airlines, United and LAN). So, to avoid Mr. WiseAss replies, I go straight with my questions to the real 767 pilots.Kerke

  7. Work arounds:1. Use NOTAMS for destination. You can vary your altitudes without RC complaining during approach. Your vector altitudes will become advisory.
Do you mean that on the initial contact with APPROACH, when it assigns the landing runway, if APPROACH says "descend to 9000", I can ignore that and I can proceed to descend to, say, 3000 feet or whatever altitude I want without ATC complaining? How is it done in real life as far as the descend to capture the ILS approach on in line approaches?

  8. i'm assuming that you have set the altimeter to the local pressure?are these problem approaches when you are coming in almost directly in line with the runway?if you can duplicate it, make a log, and send it to me. make sure you click debug before loading the .plnjd
jd, the altimeter was set OK....and yes, the problem happens when the approach is almost directly in line with the landing ILS runway.I try to make a log on my next flight.Kerke

  9. RC4.3 FS9.1 WinXP FSUIPC LDS767Many of my perfect fligts have gone seriously wrong at the very last minute -- don't you hate when that happens? For instance, here's what happens sometimes when flying an IFR approach TNP.SEAVU2 STAR to KLAX ILS 24R/25L, also on BSR.BSR2 STAR approach to KSFO ILS 28R/28L: Right before the handoff to APPROACH, we are asked by CENTER to descend to 11000 or 12000, which we do with no problem. Then, we're asked to contact APPROACH and they assign a landing runway, no problem. APPROACH will ask us to descend to 9,000, sometime a little lower -- OK, fine. Here's the problem: we are kept high at between 6000 to 9000 feet until we're very very close to the airport. By the time we get the ILS clearance, we're too close to the airport and too high to capture the glideslope.Another example: Here's what happened to me yesterday flying from KDFW to Mexico City airport MMMX, which sits up there at 7,316 feet. Flight plan: "NELYN2 HOARY CRP J25 MAM UJ35 AVSAR MMMX". At the end of our descend with CENTER, we are asked to descend to 17,000. Then we're handed off to APPROACH. APPROACH assigned MMMX ILS 23L and got us down to 12,000. Same problem: by time APPROACH gave us the ILS 23L clearance, we were still at 12,000 -- very close to the airport and too high to capture the glideslope.Any ideas why this happens?Thank you in advance,Kerke

  10. Go to www.nhancer.com and get version 2.5.7, install it, then Google NickN's setup guide. The nVidia display manager has settings coded for MSFS that you can't override with the nVidia software, and as a result you can't get AA to work right. nHancer can make the needed settings in the registry directly. Nick's guide is a good step-by-step for setting that up.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
Thank you Bob. I downloaded nhancer 2.5.7 but I am having a hard time finding NickN's setup guide for FS9. Do you have a link to NickN's guide?

  11. FS2004, Windows XP Pro, 4GB memory, NVIDEA 195.62 driver on a [weak] 7900GS 256MB video card.My FS9 runs well all settings maxed but I still get some jagged graphics and text (e.g. airlines name text on PMDG/LDS767 aircraft liveries). My NVIDEA control panel settings are the default values, and the Antialiasing and Anisotropic settings are set to "Application Controlled". Would it be better to control these setting in the NVIDEA control panel? What would be the best 3D settings for optimal FS9 antialiasing and anisotropic results?Thank you in advance,Kerke
More info on my video setup:. Monitor: 20" Dell 2007FP. Display resolution: 1280x1024 @ 75Hrz. Single monitor setup. FS9.1Kerke

  13. I am considering a new Dell PC with Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. The two best video card options the have are either the ATI Radeon 4350 512MB or the Nvidia GT 220 1024MB. Which one would work best for FSX?I have a brand new SATA hard drive available: Should I install FSX on the new computer's Windows 7 64bit disk partition or would it be better to add a second SATA hard drive with Windows XP Pro to run FSX on the new PC with the ATI Radeon 4350 512MB or the Nvidia GT 220 1024MB?Thank you in advance,Kerke

  14. I just purchased the 737NG 800/900 upgrade via download a couple of days ago -- I had my 737NG 600/700 installed for about a month now. The 2D side views are not showing for the 800 and 900 aircraft, they work fine for the 600/700. I am a 2D panel user so I don't really care for the VC. I uninstalled both the 600/700 and the 800/900, re-installed them both and the 800/900 2D side views are still not showing, just a black screen. Do you guys know how can I get the 2D side views to work?Thank youKerkeFS9.1, XP Pro

  16. RC 4.3, FS9.1, WinXP Pro1) Is there any to close the RC window on FS9 and keep it closed until I want to reopen it?2) Is there any way to change the RC font size and color?3) Is it possible to use a wave editor to lower the RC recorded chat volume? This recorded chat is way too loud.Thank you,Kerke
