  1. Do they work out-of-the-box on FSX and Vista?
  2. I've also noticed that the red, green and white lights on the wings are huge. they look like huge baloons and they are not in the proper place. The same lights on the default A321 are much better.
  3. Danon, after 15 years of using FSim, I've been considering getting a joystick for my FSX but I use Vista and I have not yet found a joystick that is certified for both Vista and FSX...I'm not much of a tweaker, I prefer things that run (well) out of the box. Also, I don't want to spend more than $90 on a joystick, are there any good sticks for FSX and Vista for under $90?Best regardsKerke
  4. >In reply to both, the plane is fully loaded with fuel, making>a trip taking off from juliana and flying to cox international>in dayton. I could probably spare removing some fuel, and I'm>not using a joystick, a bad as it sound Im using the mouse to>fly.enigmamcmxc3, more than likely you will only need 100% on the left and right tanks only and 0% on all others for that flight.BTW, I too am not a joystick pilot, I use the keyboard ;-)
  5. How much fuel do you have on your 747?I find the A321 accelerates way too fast on takeoff.
  6. I read the entire thread but I am not still sure whether the Aeroworx King Air installs and runs out of the box on FSX/Vista.
  7. I know the idea sounds crazy but I'm going to ask anyway -- My favorite FSX default aircraft is the A321, but I like how the default FSX B738 flies much better than the A321. Now the crazy question: is it possible to use the FSX B738 flight dynamics or air file to make the A321 fly like the B738 and still use the A321 panel?I am not a FSim purist, so I would not be disturbed at all by the unrighteous act of creating a sinfull merge like this, as long as I get my A321 to fly like the B738 ;-)Thank you in advance.Kerke
  8. Were these aircraft FSX aircraft of FS9?
  9. The new TweakFS TweakAircraft for FSX demo is just a 30-day demo, or does it actually allow you to tweak your aircraf.cfg files?Kerke
  10. Could it also be a problem with the Justflight aircraft?
  11. Geofa, I'm not a [real-life] pilot but I've been lucky enough to have a friend who owns a nice Beech Bonanza. He won't let me drive it during takeoff or landings. The real aircraft controls feel harder than what I expected and it seems easier to fly than the flight simulator ;-)Now my question: I've used the flight simulator ever since the Commodor64 days, but I have NEVER used a joystick, I am a keyboard pilot. As a real pilot, do you believe that a joystick increases the FSim experience and brings it closer to the real thing? If the answer is yes, what joystick do you recommend? I currently use FSX with Windows Vista Ultimate.*** This photos were taken before our flight at Miami's "Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport" KTMB ***http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168695.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168696.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168697.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168699.jpgThank you in advance,Kerke
  12. Hey Lucky, that's pretty normal and by design. When you launch FSX, Vista switches the OS display experience from "Aereo" to "Vista Basic"to optimize the simulor performance. Once you close FSX, Vista switches your display back to Aereo.Vista and FSX, it's a good thing!Kerke
  13. Not to both (nose down attitude and rocket acceleration on runway) according to my United A320 driver friend. Also, according to my pilot friend, switching A/P altidude to descend, say from leveled 8000 to 4000, the real A320 does to dive to a 1800 descend like the FSX A321, it smootly goes from leveled flight to about 1500 descend, but it does it very gracefully.
  14. The 2 things I've noticed about the FSX A321 fligth model are:[1] Nose down attitude at cruise level flight.[2] It accelerates and gains speed way too fast on takeoff.
  15. Me too, with unlimited FPS I was getting higher FPS but with hesitations, I locked my FPS at 20 and my FSX is fluid, no hesitations.
  16. I wish!!! That was my favorite FS9 plane, followed by the PIC767 and the Cessna 421C Golden Eagle. If only I had these 3 planes on FSX, I'd be happy!Kerke
  17. > 4. Aircrafts (too many), PMDG 747, cS727, Eaglesoft Cirrus Dreemfleet Baron, Aerosofts King Air. Real SIAI Marchetti. But the PMDG website says the PMDG 747 is for FS2004 and Windows XP only.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/html/747400.htm
  18. Thanks again Geofa, the instructions for installing the nVidia certified drivers read..."Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove."Question: After I select 'remove' to uninstall the current driver, do I 'reboot' the computer and then install the new driver when the machine re-starts? Or can I just 'remove' the current driver as the instructios say and proceed to install the new driver without rebooting the machine?
  19. Geofa, I'm using the default nVidia drivers that came with my Vista Ultimate, mostly because I'm not sure I know how to install the latest Beta drivers and I'm afraid I may break my brand new machine if something goes wrong during a video driver update. The default driver does not have a FSX option under "Program Settings"...I'm not too much of a tweaker ;-)But I just wonder if by un-checking Anti-aliasing in the FSX Graphic option tab and selecting "Use my preference emphasizing: Quality" on the driver 3D setting, my FSX FPS will be any better.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168021.jpg
  20. For a non-tweaker like me, to obtain the best 3D performance and FPS, do you recommend that I activate Anti-aliasing on FSX, or will I get higher FPS by unchecking Anti-aliasing on FSX and setting Anti-aliasing on the nVidia driver 3D settings? If it's better (for FPS) to set Anti-aliasing on the driver, what settings do you recommend?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168020.jpgThank youKerkeDell XPS 410Intel
  21. Thanks to all for the input. I implemented the recommended tweeks to my FSX settings, without checking the Anti-aliasing checkbox in the Graphics tab (as recommended). However, my FSX is a little bit jagged on the object edges (like aircraft).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/167879.jpgDoes anybody know how I can improve antialiasing to prevent jaggy edges? How do I do than on my nVidia driver settings? Thanks again
  22. My new Dell arrived yesterday.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/167809.jpgI realize this is NOT a gaming machine by any means but... Is there at least a way to get rid of the blur? Can anybody provide me with some advise on how to tweek the nVidia GeForce 7900 GS 7900GS 256MB video card to get rid of the blur?Thank you in advance,KerkeSPECS: Dell XPS 410Intel
  23. I believe when you select on type of aircraft, say, the LearJet gold-stripe, FSX stores (caches) the livery on memory; when you select another aircraft of the same family, sometimes it doesn't load the new livery. It looks like a small glitch. For now, go ahead and select another planes from a different family and then go back to the one you wanted.Kerke
  24. You're correct Bob. When FS9/FSX ATC is assigning KMIA RWY 12/30 for landing, I won't even get a choice to select any other RWYs. Having heard hundreds of hours of real-life KMIA CENTER, APPROACH, DEPARTURE and TOWER traffic chat with my ATC scan-radio, I can tell you that the FS9 and FSX ATC is on of the weakest sim features.BTW, one of the things I hate the most of the FSX ATC is that, on departure, it waits until you are almost 200 feet from your assigned climb ATL to give you then next ALT, it does it too on descend. Also, how about the FSX ATC hyperactivity which keeps switching you from one ATC frequency to another? Arriving at Orlando's KMCO, I get switched to Tampa APPROACH, how weird is that? It did all that nonsense on FS9, I would have expected FSX to have fixed all that, but it didn't.Kerke
