  1. >This file in the library might do the trick just fine.>wingviews_lds767.zipHey Reed203, that's an incredible machine you have, my Dell XPS 410 is not nearly close but it runs FS9 very well and at high FPS, and I get to fly my favorite planes: LDS767, F1 ATR 72-500, F1 Cessna 421C Golder Eagle, etc. I have FSX installed on the same machine but I find myself using FS9 99% of the time due to the high FPS performance. BTW, my machine OS is Vista Ultimate, I like it a lot but I think XP Pro is better for current generation games.I'm going to give wingviews_lds767.zip a try, and thank you.Happy 2008Kerke

  2. >Just install FS9 outside the program files directory and you>will be fine without any conflicts...A couple of questions for the FSim experts:[1] What happens if I install FS9 under "C:Program Files..."? I am running Windows Vista Ultimate (as Administrator) and my current FSX is installed on "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X...". I'm just curious and trying to understand why should I installed FS9 anywhere other than under the installer default location.[2] Is there a fail-safe instructions manual anywhere for installing and running both FSX and FS9 on the same Vista machine?[3] Are there different versions of FS2004 the same way there are of FSX? The stores I've gone to only carry only one version of FS2004 and they all sell it for around $20. Should I get that or should I look for a Professional version of FS2004? I had FS2004 years ago but I lost my computer and software and now I don't remember how FS9 was shipped. Thank you all for sharing your ideas and have a happy holiday,Kerke

  3. A question related to FS9 and FSX: I have a decent (just decent) Dell machine with Vista Ultimate and FSX. FSX performance is not that good on my machine. QUESTION: Is it possible to install FS9 on (1) Vista Ultimate and (2) will FS9 replace or have any conflict with my FSX? Do I need to uninstall FSX before installing FS9?There are a few FS9 aircraft with no FSX counterparts (the 421C Golden Eagle comes to mind) that I'd like to fly. Besides, my machine specs should be quite good for FS9 performance.Thank youKerke

  4. >>It doesn't seem to function for me, any advice?>>>>It works for me. I use it a lot.>>One thing about it, though, is that when you turn off>autopilot (which I do when I am making my final approach) you>must ALSO manually turn off the autothrottle. Even if you hit>the master autopilot off switch.>>For some reason, if you don't actually turn off the a/t>switch, your autothrottle will stay going.I believe on the real A321, the A/T disconnects by itself when you manually idle the throttle to land, at least that what the A320 does according to a friend of mine who flies for United.

  5. Danon, after 15 years of using FSim, I've been considering getting a joystick for my FSX but I use Vista and I have not yet found a joystick that is certified for both Vista and FSX...I'm not much of a tweaker, I prefer things that run (well) out of the box. Also, I don't want to spend more than $90 on a joystick, are there any good sticks for FSX and Vista for under $90?Best regardsKerke

  6. >In reply to both, the plane is fully loaded with fuel, making>a trip taking off from juliana and flying to cox international>in dayton. I could probably spare removing some fuel, and I'm>not using a joystick, a bad as it sound Im using the mouse to>fly.enigmamcmxc3, more than likely you will only need 100% on the left and right tanks only and 0% on all others for that flight.BTW, I too am not a joystick pilot, I use the keyboard ;-)

  7. I know the idea sounds crazy but I'm going to ask anyway -- My favorite FSX default aircraft is the A321, but I like how the default FSX B738 flies much better than the A321. Now the crazy question: is it possible to use the FSX B738 flight dynamics or air file to make the A321 fly like the B738 and still use the A321 panel?I am not a FSim purist, so I would not be disturbed at all by the unrighteous act of creating a sinfull merge like this, as long as I get my A321 to fly like the B738 ;-)Thank you in advance.Kerke

  8. Geofa, I'm not a [real-life] pilot but I've been lucky enough to have a friend who owns a nice Beech Bonanza. He won't let me drive it during takeoff or landings. The real aircraft controls feel harder than what I expected and it seems easier to fly than the flight simulator ;-)Now my question: I've used the flight simulator ever since the Commodor64 days, but I have NEVER used a joystick, I am a keyboard pilot. As a real pilot, do you believe that a joystick increases the FSim experience and brings it closer to the real thing? If the answer is yes, what joystick do you recommend? I currently use FSX with Windows Vista Ultimate.*** This photos were taken before our flight at Miami's "Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport" KTMB ***http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168695.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168696.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168697.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168699.jpgThank you in advance,Kerke

  9. Not to both (nose down attitude and rocket acceleration on runway) according to my United A320 driver friend. Also, according to my pilot friend, switching A/P altidude to descend, say from leveled 8000 to 4000, the real A320 does to dive to a 1800 descend like the FSX A321, it smootly goes from leveled flight to about 1500 descend, but it does it very gracefully.
