Guys
It really amazes me that some people's intent on this Forum, Bofajking was simply making a comparison between FSX and FSX SE, It most likely took him a lot of his personal time to compile his post, then for people to come on and slag him off for it. I enjoyed his post which was informative and comprehensive. The VAS usage will vary from machine to machine as does the frame rates but for me for a general comparison it was a great read

Guys
I think Robert's post leaves more Questions than Answers! I think a official update to clarify the position for everyone is needed  and before everyone jumps on me I'm only asking not demanding

I hope this is sorted soon

I hope PMDG have the option to transfer the FSX licence to P3D licence for a nominal fee or even free
I would have to say though there are alot of people who are not in the position like yourself who can afford to replace there entire PMDG fleet and have no choice, therefore I trust PMDG have some sort of crossover option. Exciting times lie ahead

Review of the 777 and an interview with Mr R on sim flight. This is a snippet from it
LD: Is there anything you are willing to tell us about products in the PMDG pipeline? Anything we should be looking out for, surprises we can expect?
RSR: We are notoriously tight-lipped about our development work because we sometimes need the flexibility to shift development priorities around in order to keep our core product development moving forward smoothly. I can tell you that we are within weeks of going into beta testing with our first P3D release and that we are a few months away from beta testing our first X-plane release. The X-plane release will be a surprise because it is the first time we will have developed a product from the ground up with the intent to release it in more than one simulation platform- X-plane and FSX in this case.

Joe,
We have discussed this internally a few times. It might prevent some problems- but it would have the effect that all of my updates would be "Sermon-On-The-Mount" without anyone being allowed to offer input, discuss or question...
I don't like that approach to things- because ultimately PMDG took root out of the fact that I was a simmer who participated in simmer discussions.
I'd like it to stay that way because ultimately I do like the relationship we have built with our customer base over the years. I think what we really need is a re-imagining of how the forum works...
In the past we had half the PMDG team in the forum on most days- but as we have increased our productivity- this has necessarily caused members of the team to spend less time responding to the forum and more time doing... you know... work.
Might be time to add a few affiliate moderators to help us really dial down on the few folks creating angst in the forum- and see if that doesn't improve the level of discourse here.
Gonna spend some time thinking that through.... hmmmm.....

I think updates from Robert should be locked and that would solve a lot of problems and misunderstandings.....

Great news. Waiting for the update on P3D before purchase

"PMDG have said repeatedly that the majority of their customers don't partake in these forums, seems unlikely they would make business decisions based on feedback they read in a random thread."
I find this very hard to believe, when I spend 70 odd dollars on a product the first thing I do is join the forum for tips, updates etc. I may not post jebberish every day for the sake of it, but I would read regularly. This forum at least once a week to see what's happening.
This is only my thought!!!
"I assume the simple answer is that this topic was to stop speculation...opps.
I would speculate (based on no information whatsoever) that any releases in P3D will be squarely aimed at professionals and the cost will be somewhat prohibitive to the majority of us."
Again this proves my point , do you or any other other member of the forum have inside info? It's just a wait and see

I think that PMDG us this forum as a liptus test to see what peoples are thinking and what is acceptable for pricing to upgrade to P3D v2. Why have this topic? It causes upset, speculation and bickerness between fellows simmers. I would pay a small upgrade fee for the NGX and if there is a full upgrade to make use of P3D I would pay a supplement for it.

+1. I hope there would be no cost to use in P3D..... Money is tight enough for everyone

I've just completed my first flight with AS2012 SP2 and loved it! I was tempted to change over to the competition but glad I waited for SP2. I really like have everything in one complete package with excellent graphics and textures.
Thanks for the excellent upgrade.
