GavinYep I would agree maybe they should have a locked "Beta Shots" thread, I just enjoy admiring the shots keeps me going until release :(Even though the more updates, screenshots or descriptive posts posted the better they usually just end up being locked or deleted which is a shame. Maybe this puts them off posting as much as they'd like.X -
Thanks.. :(Great post Joe.I support your points and I agree with them. It's always a big update and then we're left hanging for at least a week. And of course, the usual people step up quickly to attack anyone who has a problem with PMDG's communication and post censuring.Go figure...
Where's Waldo :( :(I don't even know where it is. ha Haven't attempted to look for it yet. -
Cheers Mike, much appreciated :(To answer the main question, no, we're not, under any embargo and we can still post screenshots (As far as I'm aware anyways. ha). As Matthew said, we're all just busy testing things and trying to do our little part to get this thing out to you as soon as it can. I posted a couple shots in Mark's thread, but at this point I'm not really sure what there is left to show that people haven't already seen many times before. I also don't have quite the way with words that Carl does, and so a post of me saying "the plane does this, this, this, and zomg it's really cool" wouldn't sound quite as exciting as it does when Carl posts. Although the plane is really cool. That said, the best part for me so far is finding all the things the NGX can do, even when it happens on accident. For instance, last night I experienced the "Energy Compensation" mode, which helps the plane recapture the descent path. Basically if your MCP altitude is set to an altitude above the descent path, the airspeed cursor on the PFD will slowly decrease while the target speed stays the same. This causes the plane to slowly decrease in speed, which, when you're ready to descend, will help you capture the descent path again. Once you've started your descent, the plane will slowly increase back to the target speed and you'll be good to go.
Craighope there's eggs too :(+1 for me on this Joe and (Chapstick) do i smell Bacon :( -
I give up, I thought the usual :( posters would jump on this, I was only asking a question? READ the post :( I was asking why markadeane screenshots had been removed and since then nothing from him. strange! I enjoyed his posts..... "prefaced with an all-caps subject line", its up to me, its my topic!!!I for one can't wait for the release, for one thing it will do is to get me off these forums for another 7 yrs lets see what posts come now... :(So you made this long rambling statement prefaced with an all-caps subject line to complain about beta testers not posting enough? The beta testers are not under any obligation to post screenshots and PMDG has stated this numerous times. -
Just observation When an announcement is made usually from RSR, there is a flurry of excitement and then dies away very quickly. This is the case with the Beta Testers.... let me explainCouple of days after the 9th July announcement Markadeane posted some beautiful screen shots and Lasnubes has posted some great posts minus screen shots. Markadeane post was deleted because of some remarks made on that thread, so why not just delete the remarks and leave the screen shots on?Now I would say there's more than a dozen Beta testers if not more testing the latest build and according to RSR thte latest build is nearly there or the wide beta team would'nt have got it, now my point is why can some tester not post more screenies or video, surely the latest build is not that buggy, even Robert said that when the wide beta tester get there copy, its basically to test it on there systems for install issues and get the last of the small bugs, now I would have thought out of all the Beta testers could have taken a few shots to post especially when Lasnubes write some long and beautiful written posts decribing his flights. (Now that takes time to do) Is PMDG holding back the beta's testers from posting screen shots? Is there an embargo on these Guys? When you look at the front of this forum, half of the topics are either non related or old threads crashing to the ground! (sorry guys but its true)I'm a bit disappointed that after the 9th post I was expecting a bit more from the Beta testers (no disrespect guys) , maybe I'm asking to much?I for one can't wait for the release, for one thing it will do is to get me off these forums for another 7 yrs :(

I'll think I will do that next time :(It probably turned into a nitpicking thread, which was to be expected, unfortunately. They were good pictures indeed, luckily I saved them to my computer the previous night!

Guys Calm down for goodness sake.. REALLY :( I thought it was funny .. that's all.. nothing more nothing less!I'm very happy the way things are progressing :( Don't spoil it :(Yeah im directly starting something with you. Great observation. So if you wanna play lawyer and get all literal, you are once again putting up little comments and pictures that imply that the NGX is taking tooo lloong. Or you are just showing off how impatient you are. Either way, cute face. -

Excellent.. :( :(Yes I have a butt kicker but they are WAY too expensive in the long run. It works well though. Whenever I spend too much time on FS, she comes downstairs, sneaks up behind me and kicks me in the butt. It even talk (aka yells) at you. Stuff like "get the he*l off that thing and come upstairs". Heck it EVEN tells me to do the dishes. No other FS product has simulated that to date. But not only does the buttkicker require power but diamond earings, rings, backrubs, etc so hence in the long run the buttkicker is very expensive.Sorry had to.JackColwill -
Hi AndyIt seems that the Beta testers are not fully released from there NDA yet, they can only chat about it generally at the moment :(I've searched but I can't find any reports from the wide beta testers regarding the frame rates they're getting with the NGX. Is that still subject to the NDA?Reason I'm interested is I'm trying to decide whether I need to upgrade / replace my current PC (E8400 Core 2 Duo + 4GB RAM + GTX260 + Win7 64bit) ready for the NGX. I'm getting reasonable performance with the MD11, especially in the 2D cockpit, but the Jetstream even with the options turned down is a less smooth experience.Andy Lawton -

:( Hopefully not long to go Phil :(You da man Vod,You da man... -
ChristianWhy man are you apologizing for...... see what happens :( You have a right to question, enquire, complain whenever you feel the need to :( I have had my run of complaints and questions and now I'm happy.. you ask why?The information and tone of the posts comming from the Team and Members are now more on a positive note and I feel RSR's last post is on a more realistic time-frame.Just sit back and relax, make sure your seat belt is securely fasten and enjoy the next week or so :(And this post isn't annoying because? Good grief! -
I do feel sorry for you over the few years :( Don't worry I'm not looking for the T7 just the NGX :( One less person to worry about...LOL :(Seriously, I'm going to quit if people start up with "where are the 777 updates" as soon as we release the NGX. There is enough in this airplane to keep people busy for years and we'll be adding onto it continually too. -
Great news hopefully not too long to go :(
-
Tabs,Please be right :( Thats the best news I have heard in the last month :( :(The J41 is the best turboprop out there for FSX in our opinion. That said, it is not as complex or complete as the MD-11 - this is true. That's also reflected in the fact that the MD-11 is nearly twice the price. It's certainly not "lite" in the way that the old B1900s were - it's all custom gauges, has an FMS etc. It just doesn't have failures, panel states and some of the more advanced stuff like you find in our mainline jet products. As to the original question here... I'd hold off for a bit if you've only got the money to buy one - I know no one believes it at this point but we are really close on the NGX. I think it's better than the MD-11 both visually and systems-wise. -
It must be a very sensitive time for them :( We have NO option but to wait.... but for how long! B) You can call me Joe...its ok :( :(We have nowhere else to talk about beta progress. Every major thread gets locked.Even the one that Mr. Park started. That got locked too, and all they were talking about in the end was how other PMDG planes have been released. Why not just shut down the entire forum at this point?
