  1. That's just it though, I've never had ENB installed, so I don't need to worry about those files. I've also tried the DX10 files only and it still doesn't activate, and when I try that through the configurator, it won't let me change anything without adding back the DX9 files.
  2. I've only ever used SweetFX (under DX9 mode), no other mod files to worry about. SFX does work under DX9 mode, it's just getting it working in DX10 mode that's giving me troubles.
  3. Tried running the sim through the Configurator tool and made sure I had 32-bit and 64-bit versions of C++ 2008 and 2010 and still no luck.
  4. Any other tips I could try to get SFX working with DX10?
  5. No d3d11.dll, just the dxd9 and dgxi.dlls.
  6. I don't have a file named D3d11.dll. Just the ones that came with the SweetFX ZIP file, the d3d9 and dxgi files and associated SweetFX directory, injector.ini, shader.fx, and SweetFX settings and preset.txt files. Also just tried having the DX9 only, then the DX10 only files, no luck there either. It does work when I disable DX10 preview, but I find FSX unflyable in DX9 mode anymore and would rather fly DX10 without SweetFX if it's not going to work. However, I've read of plenty of people getting SweetFX to work in FSX DX10 mode, so it's obviously something on my end somewhere.
  7. Hey guys, tried reading through the other SweetFX topics and could find my answer. Recently converted to DX10, all going smooth so far! Only hitch is that when I try to install SweetFX 1.4, it doesn't even affect the graphics at all. I know that some AA can conflict with SweetFX, so I've made sure all AA is disabled in NVIDIA Inspector, in FSX itself, and for good measure, in the SweetFX config, still no go. I've installed all the SweetFX files as per the readme into the main FSX folder, including the specific DX10/11 files. What am I doing wrong?
  8. Hello all! I was playing around with the sim after installing some WOAI packages and noticed a strange problem. After installing WOAI's Icelandair package, I was flying around Aerosoft BIKF during summer, and noticed no Icelandair planes even though reading the AI's flight plan file, there should have been lots of Icelandair planes there at that time. So then I reset the date back to current day and the time to the same GMT that I was flying before, after doing that, all of the Icelandair planes that were supposed to be there were there that time. So my question is, are AI flight plans dependent on the time of year set in sim? Or is there another reason why the AI wasn't showing up during the summer even though in both tests I was using the exact same GMT time? I was under the impression that AI flight plans followed GMT as programmed in the flight plan file, but this does not seem to be the case...
  9. That's essentially what I outlined in a previous post. Initially my reaction was one of disgust, but after playing with it a little, I do think it has potential. The engine is there, definitely. But I think what's going to make or break it long-term for hardcore simmers is the nature of future updates for Flight. By that I mean, I think Flight will gain more favor if an SDK is released, if AI/ATC is added, real-time weather, and probably most importantly, if Flight remains open to the 3rd-party addon community like FS9/FSX currently is. Tagging onto that last point, it will be interesting to see how MS manages DLC and pricing. I've read some theories others have posted about MS using Live to control content so they get a constant cash flow, which makes sense, that's a growing business model seen in Steam games. But will MS allow freeware and are those items that are paid for through Live reasonably priced or outrageous? Personally, those are my views on Flight and what will make or break it for the community.
  10. After installing and playing with Flight myself, here are my views.It has potential. It's a simple game now, but it will be interesting to see if Microsoft ups the complexity of the game over time. The next question there is will it come at a cost?That said, there is nothing in its current state that Flight has over FSX (albiet a modded FSX). I've seen people post about the sun reflection so you can see scratches on the aircraft. FSX already has that in the way of specular maps, an often overlooked but amazing capability of FSX, something that Flight has carried over. The dynamic wind sound that is generating a lot of hype already exists in FSX, A2A Simulations just released Accu-Feel Global FSX Enhancement which performs those same functions. Overall graphics by default are a bit better in Flight than FSX, more autogen (that does seem to be a bit more performance friendly than default FSX autogen) and higher resolution default ground textures are what immediately stuck out for me, but again, both of those items aren't a vast step up from an FSX with good addons installed. The only thing that really caught my eye as innovative in Flight was the ease of use of the Free Flight map to set up a flight. My point here is that with a little TLC, FSX is not that far off whatever default improvements Flight has. And for me, as with many other simmers, the future of Flight as a serious platform in the community depends on how MS looks at Flight and the nature of any upcoming feature additions to Flight.So yes, in SOME respecets, Flight is a step up over FSX out of the box. But we won't know Flight's true potential until there are more regions to fly in the world, what new features MS plans (if any) over time, and at what cost those items come by. It's even hard to tell if the Flight engine is that much more optimized for performance over FSX SP2 until we can throw in AI and much more complex user-aircraft and sceneries. I'm willing to give it the benefit of a doubt and give it time, but I'm not holding my breath, nor do I see FSX migrating out of the community any time soon.Just my 2 cents.

  13. Hey guys,I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and I've had UAC turned off ever since Vista. :( I did get it running by manually navigating to the .bat in the command prompt. I have to do this every time to get FPS Limiter running with FSX, which is a little annoying, so if anyone has a solution to get it running just by clicking the .bat icon, I'd love to hear it, but at least I've got it running. :( Thanks for everyone's help so far! :(

  15. I can't get the .bat to launch the sim, when I click on it, the command window flashes really quick then disappears and nothing happens.

  17. Just starting a flight from LAX, for some reason only runway 6R is in use for both AI departures and arrivals verses all 4 runways being in use and the runways in use should actually be the westbound runways because the wind is out of the west. Any workaround to get it working correctly?
  18. Hey guys, I just bought Radar Contact and took my first flight with it and I've got to say that it is worth every penny! :DI just have one or two things that I'm trying to clear up. Radar Contact does not actually follow SIDs or STARs and altitude/speed restrictions are relatively generic, correct? So the best way to fly a SID/STAR is to have a generic waypoint within 30 miles of the airports and fly the SID/STAR around those points? And if having to fly to the far side of an arrival airport, will ATC give me proper vectors (if it is a fully controlled airfield)?
  19. I recently got a new computer, running Vista Home Premium 32-bit right now. My sound is onboard with it's latest drivers, works better than anything else I've had before.
  20. I installed PF10070v2.zip first, and running that alone, the entire sim is silent until I switch to a different aircraft. Then after installing rcbpf-30.zip, I have sounds going until I open the overhead panel, then the sim goes mute again and I've got to switch to a different aircraft to bring sounds back. All files are there, I didn't have any disappear. Hey guys, I've been having issues after installing the Project Fokker F70/100 that I've never had before during previous installations and a search of a couple of forums haven't provided a solution to my problem. When I run the aircraft in the sim without any modifications, the simulator has no sound whatsoever (yes, I did check to make sure FS2004's sounds were enabled) until I switch to a different aircraft. With the gauge update listed on their site installed, all sounds disappear when I open up the overhead panel. I'm using FSUIPC 3.9.3.0 and FSSound 1.6.0.15. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  23. Hey guys, Wilco's forum won't let me register for some reason, so I'll see if I can get help here. On their E-Jets, when I go through FMS initialization, I put my weights and fuel in, hit the confirm button, then it takes me to the climb/cruise/descent pages and it says that they are not initialized. How do I fix this?Thanks in advance.
