  1. 4th Trini right here! lol And yes, anxiously awaiting the Caribbean Airlines paint. Thoroughly enjoying the aircraft though with the AA paint since that is my company... Chris Lezama
  2. And I was just amazed to see that the virtual pilots in the cockpit move and do things when looking at them from outside. The captain stretches for a second, the FO flips some stuff on the overhead, and the constantly look around outside and at the instruments. All this with virtually no performance hit... Talk about the little things! Chris Lezama
  3. hahaha!! censored... sneaky!!!Looking real good fellas! Excellent!Chris Lezama
  4. Well we are retrofitting all of our 738 interiors to match our brand new ones so all of them will have the flip down screens and the new "slide reclining" seats (these things are actually great, im 6'5" and my knees are finally saved by how this seat reclines!).I was flying back home to Dallas on Sunday on a 738 and some of the screens wouldn't retract. I was like "ALREADY?!?!?!". I guess you get what you pay $30 million for... LOL!*and to play the good employee*Thank you for being a loyal AA customer!*end good employee speak*:Big Grin:Chris Lezama
  5. At AA, we sure do notice it! Especially compared to our MD-80s... We ordered 35 more this year to speed up the replacement! Despite how I love the MD-80, from a cost perspective, I can't wait until we are rid of them damn things!Chris Lezama
  6. I am expericing this exact problem today. I havent flown the 747 in a long time and im now on a new rig and what not but this plane has been doing 180 degree turns and cannot maintain a heading or follow LNAV at all! I do not have this issue with any other plane models I own. I ended up crashing FSX trying to solve the problem... Any permanent solution to this other than disabling winds aloft? I don't think i should have to disable winds to fly a 747, it should fly through winds appropriately. I really do not want to go through the effort of planning and setting up a flight realistically to have this occur and FSX crash on me. I just wasted hours! Thanks,Chris Lezama
  7. I actually do as well. I would appreciate some help with this as its so difficult to taxi the maddog with the view point like this. Landing is also tricky.Chris
  8. The ILS approach to 13L is vectored south of JFK towards the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, then up the east river in a right traffic pattern for the intercept of the localizer. It is hardly used and only in situations where weather absolutely demands it.The main approach for the 13's is the VOR 13L/R approach. It keeps them away from the LGA traffic pattern as arrivals from the south and west are vectored over brooklyn and queens towards the airport.JFK arrivals over LENDY cross there at FL190 as stated in the LENDY5 arrival. They are then vectored over LGA or south over the statue of liberty depending on the arrival runway in use (4s/13s for the prior, 22s/31s for the latter).
  9. Actually, his question was not answered. FYI.. I am curious as well. It would just be interesting to know specifically what areas of the sim they needed the tools and SDK to figure out as it pertains specifically to the PMDG 747 product.Great post by the way Rob!
  10. I just brought my shiny new FSX from Circuit City as well for $47.99. Figured id buy Trainz 2006 for 19.99 at the same time since i had the extra $20 to spare!
  11. I have been using this for a quite a while now. However i am looking for something just like this where i can find flightplans to and from NON USA airports to and from NON USA airports. Flightaware is not aware of flights that are not beginning or ending in the USA. I am particularly interested in live flightplans for flights between Europe and the Caribbean.Anyone know of a good resource for that?Chris
  12. I changed the altitude on the MCP, hit the altitude intervention button and checked that the VNAV cruise page was updated with the new cruise alt. This was done while still climbing to cruise in FLCH mode with VNAV "ARMED" (its armed because it would not engage without intervention). VNAV would then activate and VNAV SPD mode would display.
  13. It is somewhat comforting that I am not the only one experiencing this problem out of Narita. I will try what you did in this post tonight or tommorow and see if I have the same results. As for re-engaging the VNAV after switching to FLCH, i noticed that it would re-engage if i switched the altitude to the next useable flight level in either direction (not saying that it has to be 2000 ft exactly, but it is what I used). So starting off with an initial cruise alt of FL330, I would switch to either FL310 or FL350 to get VNAV to re-engage. If i did that and then tried to switch back, it would disengage again. So it looks like there is a problem with VNAV and the cruise alt set in the FMC at takeoff. Once in the air, if you take off VNAV or it comes off on its own, good luck on getting it back on without changing the cruise alt. Not that big a problem on long flights where you are going to step climb anyway which would solve the problem.Chris
  14. My problem is in the 777-200. I have not tried this in the 300. Soon as the A/P is turned on and VNAV is engaged, straight to the ground it goes...Also, this departure calls for you to fly over the NRT 6DME point, but the plane always wants to quickly after takeoff.
  15. Hey guys,I got the patch which addressed a lot of issues. Thanks for that. However, I still have the main issue that i brought up before:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...4&topic_id=4278I still cant seem to figure out what is causing this and why only in Tokyo. Everything I reported in that post is still occuring. Also, in entering the flight plan in the FMC, i always have trouble with NCA20, NCA21, and the YRL VOR. I should be able to enter NCA20 YRL NCA21 or NCA13 YRL NCA21 but i always get INVALID ENTRY there.Appreciate any help with this. Thanks!
  16. This is probably my single most wish as well. It always bothered me that my plane was always dark when the area around me was bright. Especially when not using AI aircraft, static aircraft would be lit with night textures so that they are bright in bright areas of the field. The taxi and landing lights do bother me as well. I do hope this is something that can be improved upon.I guess we will see!
  17. Oh i love the post! My comments were in reference to OHN's post. I find Microsoft's reply hilarious and it just on the line of what I would have said...
  18. Hmmm... I would HATE to work for a person who thinks like that. I am a software developer but you couldnt pay me enough to lock myself into a room like that. Developers have much broader responsibilities nowadays. Someone finally came up with the bright idea that if the developers talk to the clients, then the developers can create what the clients want. Makes sense don't it?Occasionally we get a little ticked off by idiots who think all we should do is lock ourselves in rooms to develop software cause "that is what we are paid to do". Our reaction are posts like these.
  19. In another case of a data issue, I cant select NCA21 between YRL and YZE. It always complains about invalid entry. NCA21 does work between YZE and YYZ however.
  20. Just to update, Adam and I did extensive testing of this problem last night and we found that this is only happening in the Tokyo area. It happened at RJAA and RJTT. However upon trying out RKSI in South Korea, it worked like a charm! We also did some further testing and found some other issues that are happening to the plane around the Tokyo area. Adam has filed a report with PSS and hopefully a resolution to this can be found. Thanks Adam for all your help!
  21. True, i have not tried this at another airport or with the default scenery at RJAA. I will try both of the latest suggestions tonight. Thanks guys!Chris
  22. Next flight... RJAA to KJFK. I was good all the way to the takeoff, everything set right, checklists complete, rotate and climb. All fine. LNAV and VNAV armed and FD stating TO/GA mode in both vertical and horizontal nav modes. At 400 ft, I turn on the autopilot and LNAV engages. Shortly after VNAV engages. Supposedly im supposed to be following the CHOSHI departure off of 34L. My LNAV does fine, but VNAV suddenly commands my plane to dive right into the ground! I disconnect the autopilot and climb quickly. I choose FLCH mode and continue climbing after regaining control of the aircraft. Then the plane just wont climb over 10000 ft! I decide to return to the airport and spend 30 minutes dumping fuel (which is a wonderful feature btw) and land perfectly at the MLW. I re-select the aircraft (since there seems to be no way to reset the plane for a turnaround - AUTOPILOT DISC in red on the EICAS, G/A mode shown etc.) It was a painful flight but i had to try again. Thought to myself i must be doing something wrong. So i try again, everything perfect. I takeoff and BOOM it happens ALL OVER AGAIN! This time i dont give up as the plane this time decides it can climb over 10000 ft. However i could not re-engage VNAV so i climbed to cruise using FLCH mode with VNAV armed. I am currently flying at FL330 in cruise with ALT HOLD mode on and VNAV STILL ARMED. Any ideas on what is going wrong here? I had 75% fuel loaded and im flying the 772LR. I have yet to have a perfect flight. Something major is constantly going wrong...
