I don't see anyone whining. This is the problem today is that any non-glowing comment in any area is considered whining or hating.
People need to harden up a bit.

I can envisage them going the way of Level-D and that famous last shot of their 757, only to be never heard of again.

… about 6 or 7 years of waffle from RSR presumably 🫢
Would you prefer that or the FSL approach of say nothing, no questions taken and if you ask too many questions your post gets shutdown by their resident thread locker?

People in this community are funny!
“I’m gonna sign up to the beta! Dam you Microsoft, I’m annoyed at the bugs, in the beta” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How about the idea that someone tries beta testing and decides it's not for them? Pretty funny, hey?

It is, but I got tired of things being broken.

That's why I pulled out of the beta

I have to agree with that.

It's a very overdone effect is MSFS

That's why I like it.

I think the explanations were somewhat long winded for educational purposes - a reciprocating engine is not that hard to start although some background knowledge always helps.

As a practising marine pilot of 20 years experience it is exactly right.

As a CFI the engine schematics look good enough for real world training

Frankly, I see them going the way of Level-D.
Their ongoing secrecy and the flat out refusal to give any indication on where they are at, their future plans etc. means users will lose interest given other high-end options are available.

I really think you are over-thinking it here. Depending on the type where you can get under the cowling for a good look, such as a Piper Cherokee you have no detailed method of checking for oil line wear & tear or check the condition of the oil filter other than looking at the oil dipstick.
Oil T's & P's are the only real indicators of oil issues in the average GA aircraft unfortunately, unless you can clearly see oil pouring out from somewhere.

Not to take the spotlight off of FBW and the awesome work they are doing, but as others have noted, THIS is how you do a sneak peek!! You’d think a company as big as PMDG would have better marketing than a team of die-hard hobbyist, working for free just to bring the community something truly new and fresh. Bravo to FBW. This is absolutely stunning and such a huge and selfless accomplishment! I’ll definitely be donating more after seeing this awesome footage!
I agree. I've always supported PMDG but they need to lift their game in light of this - I'm almost speechless. Hopefully a 787 might be on the way.

I really don't understand Asobo's attitude towards such a simple issue as "pause".
I still can't work out the idea behind this silly "Active Pause" function.

I understand the initial reason for withholding the release of something that was apparently ready to go, but don't understand the ongoing secrecy and obfuscation about releasing it now.

I have a few hours instructing in one - nasty little machine as others have said.
I'll be passing on this one, but hope those who buy it enjoy it.

Any idea about the "Error getting file security" error when trying to update?

This happens after every update to P3D.
The developer will usually provide an update within a few days.

Yes, to the point that they will argue with people who actually are experienced real pilots and tell them they are wrong 🙄
