  1. Hi Does anyone have a copy or know where to find Dennis Thomson's World Time Zones 3.5 or 3.51 which corrects Venezuela time? I tried the 3D software site and the download version there is only 3.0 Thanks john
  2. Thanks Ron. The flightaware plans is SEBBY7 DAG J146 LAS J100 NORRA J9 BERYL J9 MLF MTU CKW KD75U KP84A KP12K 5000N 8000W 5130N 7000W 5100N 6000W DOTTY NATU MALOT NATU GISTI SLANY UL9 KONAN UL607 SPI UT180 PESOV T180 RASVO T180 UNOKO UNOKO1 Once I realised 5130N 7000W was actually translated into 5130N0700W in FSBuild format the thing worked and I now have a flight ready for tonight. Goint to be a day late but I don't give up! For many years I have been using the 50/20 format for the standard waypoints but that format cant work for oddities and one off fixes. Thanks again John
  3. Hi All Been trying to set up todays LH flight KLAX-EDDF and one of the waypoints was 5130N 7000W but whatever I do cant get this recognised in FSBuild! Would appreciate your input as to what I am doing wrong. Bound to be a simple formatting error but can't for the life of me work it out. Thanks John
  4. Hi all For years I have flown the Leveld 767 and love its detail but decided over the weekend I wanted to fly Delta KATL-EGLL which is usually a 767-400 not the -300. Downloaded the Posky version and Chis Jeanne's 767-400 panel together with some realistic GE sound set and apart from the FMC have something which is workable - finally! Problem was I first of all couldn't get the strobes on the Posky model to work as the .cfg file points to the wrong .fx for the model and the available fix doesnt work to well with the 400 so tinkered around with the light contact points for a couple of evenings and now got a nice set up with strobes and night lighting so ready to fly the route tomorrow night. Wish me luck. Going to be a little laborious as will have to enter the SIDS and STARS manually into FSnavigator before exporting to FS9 but I am OK with that. Even when you are not flying this can be an absorbing hobby. John
  5. If this can be confirmed by anyone else I might have a go with it but its not listed as supported in the product page Thnx
  6. For those of us who updated from AS 6.5 to ASE it is possible to still use the older weather engine situated in the Active Sky folder in the Gauges folder. Just needs relearning the procedure. Currently flying EGNT-EGLL with full online weather and perfect rendition of the awful conitions in the north of the UK I am sure the ASE servers will be back in good time and I am not too worried having only experience one glitch in the last year or so John
  7. Actually I do have both and they are equally good in their different aspects. The Avro uses the same Navigraph database as their 757 and is very easy to install as are all Navigraph offerings. It comes down to what you want to fly routewise. The Ifly 737 comes with the -600, -700,-800 and -900 and the Flight1 download library provides us with amazing choice of add on liveries and is still very much a current aeroplane operating routes worldwide whereas the Avro is more restricted in livery and route choice and beginning to be phased out by the major airlines like Swiss and Brussels Airlines which are the main Avro operators these days. If you can afford both go for it. John
  8. I have most of his stuff and will definitely try this out after my current flight. Never been dissapointed in many years of using UK2000 John
  9. Can anyone do this one please? Much appreciated John
  10. Hi Aerosoft forums not easily accessible as they are upgrading everything. I have recently had no sounds at all with AES and there is a sticky somewhere in their forums about the solution but cant get to the post. Would appreciate assistance as slightly annoying though not a huge issue. Thnx John.
  11. As one of the guys who was flamed by both Tom and John I have to say I am moved by the recent developments. Let's agree to a new library which is functional and workeable. I fully understand that the code for the present set up is outdated and needs updating but what came about was completely unuseable. If I can do anything to help in the transition please call on me as I realise I have been more of a downloader rather than a contributor. My faith in you guys is restored I have posted in the Alpha India thread that we are reconciled Thanks John
  12. Didnt realise this was going to be so controversial. No one denegrates the work you guys have done for the community but lets move on please without emotion. And apologies if I have been over the top Tom You may not remember that we met in London many years ago now on one of your trips over the pond. I am a huge fan of what you have contributed over the years. John
  13. Not at all - install the latest version of windows whenever its available. The overwhelming response to the change was negative so I just wonder whether you guys listen to the community. If you change to a system that works I will fully support that. If there is a new library system which allows people to seach easily all the categories and doesnt say no entry for "lufthansa opensky" for example I have no problems. Not luddite just hope for a functional system - thats my two penny worth. And btw I am sure we all appreciate all the hard work in the new design. I realise the library is free and happy to donate but its very unusual for me to speak my mind as you will see from my posts. Sorry if we are touching a few raw spots here and didnt mean to be controversial. Perhaps we can all bury the hatchet and move on to something which is going to work? And apologies for the use of "we're" - didn't mean to offend Well done for the effort so far John
  14. Well thank goodness the old library is back. trust after 2 attepmts to change we're now finished with tinkering with soemthing that works perfectly well John
  15. So you love the fact that, having found out how to search, entering a simple phrase like "Air France feelthere" produces no results? Do you like the idea of scrolling through hundreds of files to find what you want? I am a very adaptable person just not happy with something that doesnt work properly and if you check the posts so far hardly anyone in favour of the change.. John
  16. After over 8 years of visiting AVSIM I have had enough with this new design of library - you tried changing it before and it didnt work why change something that isnt broke and make it worse. I can't find any search facilities which are crucial in any library like this. What is the point please? Over to flightsim.com from now on Thnks John
  17. Just wondering if we can legally pass on to you a different registration key. The programme is not being sold commercially for many years and it would hardly be piracy! What is the view of other simmers? I always keep my FS files and keys backed up on an external drive just in case I get a computer problem. Has saved me on several occasions as after 18 months or so I always seem to get a glitch in the works and need to reinstall my system. Seems to be built in. John
  18. hi Tom. Nice survey and completed already. Just one thing though - went back just now and I can take it again as it doesn 't recpgnise I have done it! Is there a way to rectify this otherwise some smart alec will multpitle vote and distort the results? John
  19. Well there's already been a comment about using freeware firewall products. I have used the full version of AVG for the last two years with Windows 7 and FS9 and never had a single problem.John
  20. HiI had a problem with ASE not starting up properly and started a new support ticket. During the process I purchased a full version of ASE rather than the upgrade from ASV6.5 via the ASA routingI just want to say thank you to both Joshua and Damian for their very fast response and another full install copy of ASE.The situation was resolved by removing the temporary files in the application folder.I also appreciate the refund on my purchase of the second copy of ASE but as I said in my response to Joshua I would have not had problem with paying again after 5/6 years of real pleasure from Active Sky.Well done chapsJohn
  21. After all the funds I have invested in this hobby purchasing FS9 planes and sceneries I am tonight flying EDDF-RJAA in a Project Airbus 380 in Lufthansa livery with a freeware panel and Trent sounds- and in combination with Active Sky, FS Navigator, and Feelthere MAP I am getting a very immersive result. There are so many freeware options out there and I am going to explore after this fantastic experience.Wondering what other pilots feel? Do you prefer payware or freeware?John
  22. Look quite nice, at last a decent scenery for East Africa. Flown in there as a passenger many times and one of my favourite destinations.Credit card ready! Now for Entebbe?Thnx for heads upJohn
