  1. Good point...they are on the edge of the bubble. I'll give it a shot and get back to you.
  2. Hey Roland, I sent you this via email, but I'm not sure you received it. Nice work on the programs by the way. Been trying it out in different areas to give it a good workout. I have encountered a weird scenario though. I decided to watch YSSY for a while. I have the Fly Tampa version. I noticed that there were no arrivals at all. Watching AI on the Aivlasoft map, I noticed that all AI heading to YSSY were being deleted at about FL300+/-100 feet or so. If I turn off AIFlow, they don't delete and traffic starts to flow into YSSY. AiFlow shows that my aircraft is on the ground at YSSY. I also have these settings in the ini: AIARRIVALSPACING=10.0 AIMAXHOLDING=50 AITURBULENCESCALAR=1.0 AISPEEDSCALAR=1.0 AITURNSCALAR=1.0 AIMONITORRADIUS=200000 USERAISEPARATIONDISTANCE=0.0 INSIMMESSAGELEVEL=0 AIANTIRUNWAYINCURSION=1 AIBADAPPROACHFILTER=0 AIGOAROUNDLEAVEAREA=0 I've tried with different combinations of the two last filters, but nothing changed with traffic disappearing at FL300. I also tried it out with v1.01, and the same thing happened with that version. It's only at YSSY that I've noticed this. All other airports I've visited seem fine. Any ideas what could be the culprit? I don't use any AI traffic limiter of any sort, and I double checked the FSUIPC AI limiter just in case, which I have never used either.
  3. Also, it won’t “build” the route for you. You have to have already built a route and have it inside the PMDG 747 FLIGHTPLANS folder first. SimBrief or PFPX can do that for you. Once that is done, then the FMC can find the route once you’re logged in via DLINK.
  4. Well color me green. I've been so busy between here, the Hifi forum and home life that I was not aware! My apologies. Well, like Matt said, it will be resolved one way or another. That's the price of progress. We all can be thankful that there is a LOT of action on many fronts in the FS world after such a long drought over the past 10-15 years. EDIT: Thanks for the heads up...guess I'll be doing some beta testing with a new jet! 😀
  5. You have a v5 version of a PMDG aircraft? Wow. Lucky you.
  6. I saw this last night, but I had to wait until today to double check. At this moment, I have no less than 30 SIGMETS outside the US. Forgive my ignorance, but what other SIGMETS were you looking for?
  7. Things may still work, doesn’t mean everything is working correctly. things that the SDK controls may work fine, the “hooks” may not all work
  8. AS uses “hooks” to target parts of the P3D exe to be able to do what it does since the P3D SDK Is not fully complete, so ActiveSky programmers have to go in the back door to manipulate the weather engine. That is a high level overview on what AS does...I’m not a programmer, so don’t ask me details! 😀 Whenever P3D is updated by LM, the exe changes, as do the hook addresses, and ActiveSky and any other program that uses dlls to manipulate the program have to be updated. That’s the price of a program (P3D) that is updated unlike the old FSX.
  9. That's odd. My ASP4 uses "AS16" and the new ASP3D uses "AS" on my system. Can't understand why yours is different. I just tried a reinstall to verify, and ASP3D installed "AS" on my setup.
  10. It won't update properly until Navigraph updates how AS is updated for the new version In the meantime: Go to your ASP3D\NavigraphData folder: 1. Backup your "AS" folder. 2. Rename the AS16 folder to "AS" You should be good to go from there.
  11. Yeah...Bitdefender picked it up too.
  12. Good to see you back Roland! These barebones programs (start them and forget them) are awesome. Well done. There was a fellow on the AIG forum that was going to message you about AIGround. The FSXPAI aircraft do not reset after control checks and have their full flaps hanging down, the spoilers up and reversers open as they taxi and takeoff. I can confirm this, and seems to only happen with the FSXP aircraft. All the others seem fine. Are you able to shed some light on this? Thanks again for these tools!
  13. The holds are artificial, but from what I've observed, it seems to work exceptionally well. I have tweaked a little to my tastes by changing the ini as follows: AIARRIVALSPACING=10.0 AIMAXHOLDING=50 AITURBULENCESCALAR=2.0 AISPEEDSCALAR=1.0 AITURNSCALAR=1.0 AIMONITORRADIUS=200000 USERAISEPARATIONDISTANCE=2.0 I wanted to give the AI more time to do their landing and taxi off sequence before the next AI showed up. This also gave time to AI in the takeoff queue to line up and get out before the next arrival. Seems to work pretty well so far.
  14. As far as I know, all both programs do is traffic separation. It does not control landings or takeoff except to space them out while in flight.
  15. I think they are reacting to you being in the air while in slew mode...the program sees you in the area and attempts to move the AI as programmed. Retry while sitting on the ground and move your eyepoint higher to gain the altitude. I read somewhere that Switching to tower view works (right click view)...haven’t tried it yet. As for the taxi program, the control checks that it makes the AI perform seems to mess up the FXPXAI models. I think someone at AIG has messaged Roland about this.
  16. Not sure, bro. I don't have v5 yet. It uses SimConnect, so I don't see why it wouldn't work...but then again, I don't know if anything has been changed/updated in v5. Give it a shot. The programs don't alter any P3D settings.
  17. This flew under the radar here since v5 came out, but there are a couple of AI traffic control utilities that were released by Roland Foster (AIController). They are not SID/STAR controllers, but they do help keep AI traffic in check both on the ground and in the air. Folks at AIG seem to like them so far. https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=aiflow&CatID=root&Go=Search
  18. My point was the LC doesn't cause walls in the sky...but yes, you're right if you have to get technical...
  19. Pete was pointing you in the right direction, yet you all poo pooed him without even trying...he's got 7500+ posts...you'd think he's seen a few things over that time. I've been around since the 1st iteration of AVSIM, circa 1996, but I'm just not that chatty!! Anyway, your problem did happen in v4, it happened in v3, it happened in v2...if your mesh resolution is too high, invisible spikes are created. All because you didn't see it in v4 ever doesn't mean v5 didn't introduce the error for you. Without trying reducing mesh to 5m or less, you didn't even try troubleshooting the problem. It's not a LC issue...LC only paints the pretty pictures on the mesh. If you use a mesh addon, most of those addon developers state to keep you mesh resolution to less than 5m. Default mesh? Well, you can paint your own story with that. Do a search...there are many threads about this issue dating way back, and the same solution is given...dial back your mesh resolution. You wont even notice a thing anyway, because the highest resolution you can get commercially that I know of is 2m from Toposim...I could be wrong...but unless you're running high resolution mesh, there is no reason to set 1m in your settings.
  20. Good morning, When choosing the Canadian language option, I do not have any voices. Looking at the log, it tells me that there are 3 missing CA files (CA.xgs, CA.xwb, CA.xsb). Those files are indeed missing in the 'Soundsets' folder I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both v1.7 and v1.8. Both these versions do not contain the missing CA files. For now, I'm using the US languages, and it works fine with those. I have attached the log. Thanks! Devin
  21. Sometime, it could also be that the BGL is too big, and GSX does not scan big files (like those of Robert Caterall/Ray Smith) There is a way to make GSX scan large files by adding a line in the .ini file. It’s the couatl.ini file in your users/yourname/appdata/roaming/virtuali/ folder. Add these lines to the ini file typed exactly as I have here: airportCacheOptimizeSearch=1 airportCacheMaxBGLSizeBytes=10000000 You can change the byte size to what you want...4000000 is default. i had the same problem with a freeware KDEN, and this solved it. Worth trying anyway!
  22. On a lighter note, I thought the fire truck air show was amusing! 😄
  23. I have also noticed that FS2CREW drifts when you're at an airport with high demands that hits the FPS below a certain value. Not often, but some airports are real hogs Don't forget dynamic lighting also drops FPS and slows the sim.
