  1. I hadn't really noticed it until a few days ago when I was during a replay of my touchdown. From the picture below there are no textures below the spoilers closest to the fuesalage. I just wanted to know if that was there to begin with and never ment to have textures or if mine just has the texture missing and I should reinstall.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/149612.jpg
  2. I just read a post about a guy with a high-end computer complaining about low framerates. Randazzo came in a couple replies later to express his thoughts on the matter, especially with his dislike of norton software. I completely agree with Randazzo on the performance hit you take when using norton. I would just like to know what do you all use if you're not using norton? What anti-virus software is comprehensive but doesn't destroy your frame rates in games?- Tim Schaff
  3. >Hello All,> I was wondering if there is a way to change the retract>spoiler command from SHIFT+/ to just / .....thanxIf you double tap / it will retract the spoilers.Hope that helps :)- Tim Schaff
  4. Matthias, Randy is right. I believe Randazzo or someone from PMDG (dev or beta) mentioned exactly what Randy said. Airbus is a bit uptight about releasing detailed information about their planes while boeing on the other hand is willing and glad to do so. A320-380 is out of the question until airbus allows companies to get their hands on detailed aircraft performance info, etc...Tim Schaff
  5. I remember Randazzo mentioning in one of the F updates that the PAX will be able to download the sound updates or something along those lines. I'm well aware you guys are busy with the release of the F today but if anyone knows the specifics of what exactly this sound update will do and/or when it will be released I'd appreciate it.- Tim Schaff
  6. Bigun it's not your system. I have a similar setup as yours, using 4800+ instead of 60. Other than that we have matching systems and the reason you're experiencing poor frame rates is due to the fs2004 grahpics engine limitations, not your system limitations.- Tim
  7. Hi there JTH. I'm assuming you've never been on a 747 and have limited knowledge of the craft so I'll try and make this as simple as possible. As far as I know, the door can be opened from the inside and outside of the plane. Under normal circumstances the flight attendants will manually open it from the inside. There are absolutely no door opening controls in the cockpit. For your second question, yes. Assigned keys, which open the doors, can be used at any given moment...even when in air! (only because it's a flight simulator) Once you pull up to a jetway and want to open the door which is connected to it, just push the correctly assigned key for that door.As for the third question, no. If you've ever been on a 747-400 at major airports, the gates in which they park at have two jetways. Usually the first jetway will be reserved for first/business class passengers (depending on airline). The other would be for economy. Flight simulator only has single jetways. I believe you can download/buy some scenery packs for airports which have the jetways used for 747s. Keep in mind though, some airports only have single jetways and can also accomadate for 747-400 so it is still entirely realistic to have 747s pull up into gates like that.Hope that helped.- Tim
  8. RMA I have a computer on sale at ebay if you'd like to take a look. It does only say shipping in the US but if you're willing to cover a fairly hefty shipping charge I'd be willing to send it. I can run FS with most of the sliders maxed and aircraft sliders completed maxed out in 1280x1024 at 40-60fps.Specs- Pentium 4 2.8Ghz- 1GB DDR PC-3200 RAM- GeForce FX 5900 Ultra- 120GB HD w/ 8MB Cache- Sound Blaster AudigyIf you or anyone else is interested click the following link.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5219011867- Tony Snider
  9. As I await the arrival of the PMDG 747-400 I've been using a crappy "un-calibratable" Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. About the 2nd month after having it, the precision went out the window along with the dead zone. Every little touch will cause planes in FS2004 to start turning off the runway and I've tried fixing it with several software dead zone features built into the (horrible) logitech joystick managament software. I don't want to have to deal with this when I'm flying the new 747. I just wanted to know if any of you enthusiasts could recommend a good joystick. I know a flight yoke would be a great option but I'm not looking for one as I also play many games which have fighters and need a good responsive joystick. I'm pretty much become anti-logitech as none of their products seem to impress me. I had a Microsoft Sidewinder Precisoin Pro 2 for 4 years until it finally gave out. I've been looking at saitek (X-52 espeically) and some others but wanted hear your input on this matter. What is going to be the best joystick out there right now?- Tony Snider
  10. Any solution yet to this weird problem??? I've been messing with it for a while and have gotten myself no where. So I'm sitting back on v3.4 waiting for the next FSUIPC or a solution provided by someone in the community.- Tony
  11. I hope that Pete will either get a hot fix or release another version soon. I love FSUIPC but the digital filtering (which i really need) isn't very accurate with v3.4. I saw the changelog for v3.411 and it does say that the filter has been greatly improved. Since i can't use v3.411 i'll just have to be patient and wait...- Tony
  12. Yep, i got the same texture problems. On the overhead panel especialy when its at night. There are some night and day textures all messed up together and it looks very strange... Nice to know that it isn't just me that has the problem. Something went wrong with the new version.
  13. Sorry about the whole name thing. I never use the boards so... I did let the .ini rebuild. I completely removed all files that were part of FSUIPC then put in the v3.411 into the modules directory. It works fine until i register and restart fs. Then all the gauges are black. I think for now i'm just gonna have to stick with v3.4.Regards,Tony
  14. I just finished putting FSUIPC v3.4 on and it now works fine. For some reason when i switch over to FSUIPC v3.41 and register it, then it no longer works. Without it registered v3.41 works fine. You may ask why register it? Well I have a crap logitech Extreme 3D Pro that has no calibration tool so the joystick fsuipc calibration page is the only way I can calibrate it so my plane doesn't turn right sharply on take off.
  15. Today i downloaded the new version of FSUIPC v3.41 When I start fs up and get into a PMDG 737-600/700/800/900 the panel is there but none of the guages are on. I checked all the power settings on the overhead panel and they all seem to be ok. The generator switches and ground power switch no longer work and just freeze in their current position. Almost everything on the overhead does not work and just about the only thing that does work is the throttle. I will try and revert back to FSUIPC 3.4 in a little bit to check if the new version is causing the problem. If I'm doing something wrong or there is a fix please let me know. Thanx
  16. Lol, thanx. I'm one of those guys who just downloads and goes. Doesn't read anything. Can be a time saving strategy but will get you frustrated sometimes. Thanx again...
  17. I just downloaded the new updated to flight sim 2004. Started up flight sim and I receive some error about FSUIPC not recognizing this verison of flight sim and that i need to revert back to version 9.0. I just clicked ok then it gave another warning box about some things may not function without fsuipc. Hit ok again and flight sim crashed. I then dragged the fsuipc.dll file onto my desktop and started fs again. This time it worked like a charm and the game is running SOOOOOOOOO much better. Easily hitting 50-60fps with settings maxed and 100% AI traffic at KSEA. But I don't have the functionality of FSUIPC for my PMDG planes. A quick solution to this would be nice because I want to get back up into the skies with this newly improved version!
