  1. Where are AFCAD's kept, out of interest, and is there an easy way of determining whether there is a duplicate entry?I only ask beacuse I had a CTD last night just as I approached Heathrow and I have installed Aerosoft Heathrow having previously had Heathrow Pro. Maybe I have a duplicate AFCAD.ThanksRenzo
  2. The same issue has occasionally arisen for me so I would also be interested to read any feedback on your question.Renzo
  3. Is there anyway to configure the panel switcher so that it defaults to the zoom view of the Captains or First Officers panel when you click the relevant button rather than defaulting to the non-zoom view.I prefer the zoom view and just trying to save myself a button click by having to click twice to bring up the zoom view.Hope someone understands what I am on about.Renzo
  4. Thanks chaps but my fuel dump estimate is way off. 3 or 4 mins to drop 1 minute.Renzo
  5. Hi,I have noticed that when I activate fuel dump on the PMDG 747 and it annotates that it will take 13 minutes until the fuel level reaches the specified amount, 4 minutes later, it says there is still 12 minutes to go etc etc. The whole thing runs slowly. I am sure I am following the correct procedures and would be grateful for any advice. How fast should the fuel be leaving the aircraft and why does the clock and fuel dump appear to run slowly?ThanksRenzo
  6. Indeed, it was the font DPI set to 120.Thanks for your help in sorting this out chaps.Renzo
  7. I have put a screen shot of my PFD problem below if anyone is interested.
  8. Thanks Ron. Please read 'magenta' for 'magnenta'. Don't know where that extra 'n' came from.renzo
  9. I wondered whether someone could give me advice witth some problems I am having.I have a new vista laptop and I have installed the PMDG 737 NG on it.I have remembered to install the updates but I have the following issues:1.On the PFD, the magnenta altimeter reads '100' for both 1000ft and 10,000ft. On my old XP computer, the magnenta would read 1000, 5000, 10,000 etc. This install reads 100, 200 etc.2.On the 'About' screen, my vista version reads something like 2.4 whereas my XP version was something like 3.2. I noticed also that the 'options' screens are different.3. Lastly, and this is not a PMDG issue, can someone tell me where the FS9 joystick assignments are saved because I would like to copy them across to my new installation rahter than start from scratch again.ThanksRenzo
  10. Private message has been sent. Awaiting my download link.ThanksRenzo
  11. Thanks Ryan. Will do this evening. Pigeon already left though.Renzo
  12. I purchased 747X yesterday, with paypal, but have received no download link. I did receive confirmation of Order. I have emailed support with two different email addresses and received no automated response.I have just sent a pigeon with my details to your head office and hopefully he will be with you tomorrow.Yours Renzo Nicoletti
  13. Hello All,The time has come for me to buy a new computer and I would like some advice as to whether I will get away with buying a laptop to run FSX and the new 400X or whether I will only get satisfactory results on a PC.Bear in mind that I would be running the following:FSXPMDG 400XActiveskySqwarkboxWhat sort of specs should I be looking out for and can anyone recommend a particular laptop?ThanksRenzo
  14. Hi,I also paid with paypal and got PMDG order confirmation but no download email. Been a couple of hours but don't know how long is normal to wait.RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
  15. ...also, your yoke shouldn't be 'catching' and your clock should work. I don't have these problems so maybe you should consider a return.Renzo
  16. After using it for a few days, I now have mixed feelings. I don't regret dumping the CH Yoke but there are, I admit, calibration issues with the Saitek, even with FSUIPC, and the PMDG keyboard assignments seem to create some problems, especially if they involve an ALT command I find.Randy, I found you can equalise the resposiveness of the TQ levers by addressing the sensitiveness settings in FS9 joystick calibration. Until I did this, one lever didn't even work. I do prefer the rocker switches on the CH yoke though. The saitek ones are a bit flimsy. All in all, I think it is worth the money(lets face it, there are not many affordable yokes on the market and non are great) but of course if you can afford a Cirrus PFC yoke, then you will enjoy another level of quality altogether.cheersRenzo
  17. The yoke is of a much more solid contruction than the CH Yoke and has a much smoother action. My CH yoke rarely returned excactly to it's central postion and made irritating spring noises when pulled or pushed. No such issues with the Saitek which has a metal shaft. Also, the because the top of the yoke is flat, I am able to put my keyboard on it. The button placements are ok but not not ideal. Three are three rocker switches on the yoke and two buttons. I would have preferred a couple more buttons but everyone has a different preference. I would also have preferred my hat switch to be on the right. The throttle has an idle detent which I have configured to engage reverse thrust and that works fine.Overall, I think this product blows the CH Yoke out of the water but then I never did like the plastic cheap feel of the CH Yoke. Sorry if my terminology is inaccurate but I am not a very techy person.I bought it for
  18. I have the new Saitek Yoke and throttle and I think it is excellent, a real improvement on the CH Yoke which I had previously. I have configured it using FSUIPC and it works with PMDG 747 perfectly. Some buttons won't configure with the 737 for some reason but I am working on it.Renzo
  19. Just to add my name to the list of customers who would like this functionality on the 737 NGX.CheersRenzo

Hello Alberto,I think what you have to do is tick the 'Allow Overhead to be undocked' box in the PMDG options menu at the top of your screen. No doubt others will confirm if I have that wrong.CheersRenzo
  21. Talking of John Travolta's 707, how I wish someone (and PMDG specfically as IMHO they are he best at jetliners) would make a realistic 707. I know this is a bit off topic and there is a greater chance of a camel passing through the eye of a needle but the 707 is such a great plane.Renzo
  22. I now think this may be something to do with my CP Flight MCP and the fact that it won't work with any "TAB" keyboard assignments. Anyone successfully used this bit of hardware with FS2crew?ThanksRenzo
  23. I think I have found the cause of my problem. Conflicting keyboard assignments between my CPflight MCP and FS2crew.Thanks for input anyway.Renzo
  24. I have posted this question on the PMDG forum but I am repeating it hear in case anyone with FS2Crew has experienced a similar problem.I have a frustrating intermittent problem engaging CMD A autopilot after take-off. This problem is only experienced with the PMDG 747. I have no problems with the PMDG 737.Having set-up the plane, including FMC, for T/O, after getting airborne, and with the FD, autothrottle, LNAV and VNAV enagaged, the autopilot CMD A will not enagage. Well, sometimes it will, and sometimes it won't but if you've spent an hour preparing for T/O and then find the whole flight has to be aborted because of this problem, it is very annoying. For the record:1. I have tried re-installing and without success.2. I have installed the updates.3. No other program is using the "A" keystroke.4. I have checked that the 747 is configured to use the "A" keystroke.5. I have FS2crew installed but I am sure the problem is unrelated to this program as it does not use the "A" keystroke.I have found that if I change planes, from the 747 to the 737 and then back again to the 747, I can then engage the autopilot. The problem with finding the cause is that the problem is intermittent but if anyone has experienced similar issue, I would be glad to hear from them.GrrggghhhRenzo
