  1. Correct! Ask, and don't die wondering. Jon Shearer
  2. I was being a little tongue in cheek when I asked for a discount but you're quite correct about the cost of flight simming activity for people on a fixed and quite low income but it is an unfortunate reality. Not complaining. Our hobby is keeping me out of the pub so it has financial benefit there and a great way to justify the purchase of high-end models and add-ons ie I no longer squander my money on the demon drink, therefore, my self restraint deserves reward. The major bugbear for me is the constant upgrading and patching maturing sim programs. I realise this is progress but nothing more annoying than breaking a perfectly good installation by going down the upgrade path. Then, models need patching so they'll work. Sometimes I just feel like it is becoming a bit of a hamster wheel. Jon Shearer
  3. Thanks for That. Regards Jon Shearer
  4. I thank everyone who has helped me with my problem. Captain Randazzo, to be sure. I feel quite honoured, Robert. I now have PMDG's excellent 737-800/900 for P3D v 4.1 and it joins my PMDG 777-300er as well as my 747 v.3/QOS and they're all working. Here comes a con, in the pro/con area. I'm a poor 70 yo Australian Pensioner. My dog eats better than me. I'm saving $2.50 (australian dollars a week) to afford the upgrade. I've supported PMDG almost all the way through your journey. Any chance you could cut a poor old australian pensioner some slack? :) Kindest wishes. Jon Shearer
  5. I've tried twice to pay for the p3d 737 ngx. I failed twice, through the main pmdg site using PayPal.. Hoping this post draws the attention of PMDG Tekky people who can investigate the problem. Jon Shearer
  6. Hi everyone. I have just tried to purchase the above aircraft through the pmdg site and it's not working with paypal. Could a tekky person look at the problem. I am not tekky. Jon Shearer
  7. I am looking at this mesh because it is on special for AU$90 on my chosen suppliers list. I have many orbx land classes and scenery's. Does this mesh improve the orbx renditions as well? I am tempted to purchase it because i think the orbx boys and girls write their sceneries using this groups software. Can anyone confirm this?
  8. Now, THAT'S! exactly what I wanted to hear. I thank you for your response to my post. On too many occasions, I have broken a perfectly good Flight Sim install by installing something into it, that requires a lot of time to correct. I have done all the updates through the control centre. I really made a mistake the first time i did it because I did the livery updates before the program updates. DUH! Anyway, your ressarance the 777 series will work is a great relief. Jon Shearer
  9. I realise this question has probably been asked before. So I'm going to ask it again, with Preface. I upgraded to P3Dv3.4 so I could buy the PMDG 747II v3 for it and there has been a kind of 747 400 fest around here, since. The new version of P3D seems to ignore the possibility for running earlier versions (and I've got 'em all) so the 777 series for me is kaput (read reports of incompatibility) until there is an upgrade to the 777 series. What will PMDG's policy be in implementing this upgrade or, are there any compatibility issues and can I install and activate just like before. with the 777 in this new platform? Jon Shearer
  10. I have not extensively tested the update but it was successful and the sim is stable, I hesitate to perform the liveries update but will do them one at a time and see how it goes. One of the other issues is that I have already installed P3Dv3.4, 3 times. Not sure if LM allow more than 3. Jon Shearer
  11. The default aircraft is the F22 and it performs very well. The liveries are for the PMDG 747 400 suite of aircraft. All liveries are installed through Operations centre and I love the feature. I checked Operations Centre from its installed location and the admin shield was already in place. So now, after checking OC there 2 notifications for me. One is an update for the v3 aircraft the other is wanting to update livery entries. I will perform the aircraft update and see what happens and will return with a report. Jon Shearer
  12. Well, it was left of the runway and straight. Any port in a storm.
  13. C'mon, don't be so hard on him. He used to fly Spaceships.
  14. He's NOT Han Solo. He's just a very naughty boy.
  15. I purchased the 747 v3 for a brand new installation of P3Dv3.4 and have been tooling around the world in it ever since. My problem is, I do it the PMDG House aircraft (not that there's anything wrong with that) but I wanna pretend to be a QANTAS Pilot. I love QANTAS Livery and I can't have it yet. As soon as I install a livery, the sim works maybe, once, then, it crashes to 'somewhere' that not even task manager or anything else can find. After a reboot and repair and dismissal of all add-ons ie liveries, the sim goes gang busters. Has anyone else had similar issues with the above combination?
  16. I have the 747 in P3D v3.4+. After a bit of anguish ie the crashes to desktop and disappearing into the bowels of the computer, unrecoverable. I deduced that many of the available skins for the 747, on the PMDG website are responsible. The House 747's run beautifully but as soon as I load a skin. Reboot.
  17. Yes, I saw that years ago and adopted my comment from that very clip. It epitomised, for me, the ultimate accolade. I don't recommend it should be used as a 'pick up' line, though.
  18. PMDG. I love your 747 400 v3 so much, I could lick it all over.
  19. North, is actually south, here, because we have all instruments set to north up to fool everyone in the the northern hemisphere. Australia is on the bottom of the world but we know the needle is actually pointing south. Pfffft. No brainer. Jon Funny story lol. That knot in the cord took years to develop by the Army and back when it was invented as a secret off on switch, the Enemy was at the gate. Thus, the enemy never cottoned as to why none of the captured equipment worked. Drill Sgt's know, I think. Jon I knew that! I found out when I was driving a semi-load of steel from sydney to melbourne once. Cooked the brakes. Jon I've upgraded to Win 3.1 lately and I'm getting annoyed with the blue screen they put up when it's time to go to bed. Jon Will they work in a 5 1/4 inch you think? Jon
  20. These days, at my age, it's more akin to forcing a marshmallow into a moneybox. Jon You finished with a great, one liner. Jon It depends whether you've set your instruments to north up. Pork around until you get the instrument to do your bidding. Expletives definitely help. It'll probably need some sharp taps to smarten it up. If that doesn't work you could try flipping the monitor 180 degrees, then gravity would take over. Jon Jon
  21. I have been goaded by a guy to get into Star Citizen with him but what stops me are many of the aspects you mention. I run 3 simulators and dcs world when it is working, I spend way too much money on flight sims already and even though I've followed SC;s development for a while, I certainly don't want to outlay, stupid amounts on another sim. A great consideration for many flight sim enthusiasts is anything over $100 viz pmdg 737 ngx for p3d. I;ll end up buying it but $100.00 is where I start thinking, do I really need this? Jon Adding: It sure looks sensational on my 21.9 aspect, Asus monitor.
  22. Neutral. You mean like, Brussels? Jon You have a sense of humour, too? Isn't it against the law? Jon
  23. I used to caddy for a famous golfer but it got to the stage, by the time we got in the vicinity of the ball, I'd forgotten where it was. Jon Good point. We had computer bugs, once, here in Australia but with monumental stupidity and ineptitude aforethought, we introduced the South American, Cane Toad. They ate all the bugs. Jon These new fangled contraptions. I'm never comfortable around mine. It's the government. Get what I mean? Jon I just take the side off the box and use my Japanese, flip out fan, given to me by a Geisha, in another life. Jon Exactly! Back then, they used 'shallower' electricity. These new computers use deep electricity. Jon
