I have been running a 46" 4K UHDTV plus a 30" monitor using a TitanX card and a 7700 CPU. You gotta be getting awesome FPS with your set up. I am 40-50 fps now at 10,000 ft approaching KLAS in PMDG 747 - cockpit view.

What controls the ground people in P3D? I don't see them anymore. Is that a P3D feature? If so - where in settings is it. Or is it an add on scenery such as FlyTampa, FSDT, GSX, Imaginesim. I have it all installed on P3D (latest version) but I don;t see ground crews by my aircraft anymore. Any Advice? Maybe my settings are not right in P3D??

He is a 767 pilot so I am looking for a major airport in the US to do video
-
If you had to vote on one (must have) add-on airport in the USA, which would you choose on the basis of detail? I want to make a video to show my pilot friend and I want to "wow" him on the level of detail out there.

I hope the new forum is under construction. There is no content there. AmI missing something? https://forum.pmdg.com/ This website yields a sterile page.

Obsolete plane. Make a 797 next decade

I see you are updating the flight director logic. Is if flawed now. I do notice flight director tells me to acend while the ILS indicator tells me to descend. I thought is was something I was doing wrong. I noticed if I switch autopilot ON and click on Approach mode. The flight director will instantally go center to match my ILS instruments. And even though I am perfectly on glide slope and I turn off autopilot the flight director quickly drifts off. Is that a flaw or me.

I just read my reply and it makes no sense. Sorry. After the re boot all is ok I never have failures turned on. But if a engine bleed valve is stuck closed is it even possible to start an engine. Is a failed bleed valve a common failure.
-
No, I have failures. I shut down P3D and rebooted. Now I got all engines to start. Some anomoly. I did this 100 times.
-
Did a cold dark start up today and I can't get engine 2 started. I have 43 psig duct pressure. Isolation valve is selected open, but instruments say it is closed. Can't open up #2 bleed valve. I even threw the APU on. Any advice. It seems bleed valve is stuck.

OK - thanks for that explaination - I knew you guys would know this.

I watch many cockpit videos. This is a crosswind landing. Look at this video at 2:40 secs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhO1BeC7m10 Why is he truring the yoke full left while on the ground? I know he is jumping on the rudders, but why the arelons? I tried to replicate this in a crosswind, I ended up lifting my right gear all the way off the ground.

When I have V-pilot open with P3D, If I click on the V-pilot window,P3D pauses - which means I stop flying. I remember there is a way to click off screen and keep P3D running. AmI correct? If so, where is that setting found?
-
OK thanks, that help me alot. You are close to the actual size gauge at 80% zoom. A real 787 would measure 30.5 cm wide - which is basically what you have (not sure if real 787 is measured on inside screen or outside.). So it seems a 55" screen is needed for full size gauges at 80% zoom. So you are 38% larger than mine gauge which measures ~22 cm. and that make sense at I have a 40" screen you have a 55" screen. so yours is 38% larger. One last question. With a top notch video card (like the Titan X) I have) the 55" UHDTV should be crystal clear??
-
Roarkr: Can you do me a huge favor? I have a 42" UHDTV and want to upgrade to a 55" like yours. I am disappointed that my primary display on the PMDG 747-8 only measures 5.25" wide x 5.5" high at 80% zoom. Inside measurement that don't include the frame. Will you be so kind in measuring your display on the PMDG 747-8 at 80% zoom level. Your response will determine whether I upgrade or not. Much appreciated. Does anyone know what the actual 747-8 display dimensions are?
-
Here is my issue. I am running P3D on a 40" UHDTV. using a Titan X video card. Everything is perfect - but at 80% zoom, my primary gauge/display on my QW787 measures only 8" wide x ~7" high . On a real 787 it is 12" wide x 9" high. It seems we can't really fly at 100% zoom - because it will crop out eiter the bottom of the gauges or anything above the horizon. So 80% seems optimal. So going to a 55" UHDTV should give me bigger gauges?? Has anyone used a 55" UHDTV? If so 1. Would I see a big performance hit going from 40" to 55"? 2. How big are your primary gauge/display on the 787? or even the 747 using 80% zoom) I'd love to know so I can compare

[26JAN19] It is Saturday. Let's have share some PBR!
paulyg123 replied to rsrandazzo's topic in PMDG General Forum
I never heard of PBR until now. A Google search yielded the stock symbol for a Brazilian Gas company and a Pro Bull Riding website Petroleo Brasileiro SA Petrobras NYSE: PBR · January 25, 5:38 PM EST 15.82 ▲ 0.30 (1.93%) But anything that makes my 747 look better, I am in -
I see (from earlier thread) there are 737NG and 777 upgrades. Does this mean the existing 737 and 777 are an incomplete project or it needs a more accurate flight model? Or are we talking about behind the scenes upgrades that deal with performance?

Ya know what would be cool is to know what each player in the industry is working on in 1 post: Fill in the blanks below: PMDG: NGX and 777 QW - ??? Flytampa - KLAS Las Vegas - then KATL Atlanta Drzewecky Design - Chicago FSDT - ?? Imagine Sim ?? Flightbeam - ??? Paul Gugliotta - playing golf in all 50 states (4 more left)

After 11 pages on this thread. Can I ask this question - I really haven't a clue: Is any plane (new or update) in the works as of now for PMDG for P3D? It would be good to know so we can keep an eye n it.
-
Wow, when this post came out - it was blasted for "here we go again", yet we are in the 10th page so far. For me, I have all the planes I want: PMDG 737, 747, 777 and QW787. Maybe a 737 MAX would be nice but I am good with what I have..

I am having a hard time seeing the benefits of this. I have multiple monitors and just drag the EFB over to one of them. I do love the idea of it on a separate iPad. I hope someone makes a YouTube video on a tutorial on how to set this up. I will definitely get it if I can figure it out. Also what is the paid license for. To get the ap to use the EFB on an iPad? How much is it exactly? I am not opposed to paying for something brilliant. I just need more info and the link says nothing about $$
-
I feel a bit dumb here. I don't understand how this works. - I read all the posts. - someone with patience please explain! 1. The link directs me to a site where I need to put in a credit card. It says free, but why a card? Is there a charge for the remote EFB for the PMDG 747? 2. How does my Ipad know what my computer and P3D/PMDG is doing. Do I connect my Ipad to the computer with a USB cable?

No, I won't waste time dumping 100,000 lbs of fuel. I just go the the FMC and change the fuel there. Who has time for a 14 hour flight? But these are the cool things I love. Now I wish I could cool my brakes mid air. If you roast your brakes on takeoff (after taxiing for a bit) for a short flight, you are stuck. But that is a rare occurence.
-
Mace the word not allowed was D_A_M_N. I can't believe that was filtered out. Anyway, back to the fuel topic. What is the best utility to figure out the correct fuel. I wasn't kidding when I said I guessed on the fuel. I also like to do short flights (< 1 hour) with my PMDG 747 but I like to take off very heavy to feel the weight. Then when I level off, I reduce the fuel to 10%.
