Ok, so here is where I am with this problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled FSX to a folder of its own on my F: drive. Found and deleted the FSX.cfg file. Disabled user account controls and tried running FSX as an administrator. The problem still continues. Any other ideas that might fix this problem? Thanks

That is the folder that I looked in. The cfg file is not in there at this time. I think that it part of the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked in the app data folder for the FSX.cfg file. There is not a file in the folder. FSX will build scenery database then quit afterwards.

Hello everyone,I recently tried to reinstall FSX. When FSX starts up, I get an error message that windows has a problem and is shutting down. I ran FSX on this computer without any problem. Anyone know of a possible solution for this problem? Thanks,John

Hello,Hopefully someone can help me. I just purchased the MD-11 yesterday. When I load Fs2004, all I get on the main panel are green x's. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the package with no luck. Searching through the forum, I have seen other users with the same problem and have tried their fixes with out any luck. Hopefully someone will be able to help me. I am running Vista 64 home premium if it helps. Thanks,John Regan

It will get to the point where the bar goes from left to right then shuts down. I will try a hard drive when I get time to get to the store. Thanks,John

Thanks Chris. Only thing that puzzles me is that the last time I booted up the computer, the hard drive was not connected. It was only booting off of the windows recovery disk then it shuts down. Take the hard drive out of play and it still shuts down on its own. This is why I am leaning towards a bad motherboard. Thanks,John

Just another question. The computer will boot using a windows recovery disk (hard drive not even connected) but shuts down after making a selection from the installiation menu. Any other ideas? I am going to replace the hard drive with another and try to load windows to it.Thanks,John

Just an update. Changed out the power supply for a higher rated (250w to 430w) thermaltake power supply. Using a recovery disk, it will boot to the install screen then it shuts down. The next step will be a new motherboard. Ram checked out correctly. Any other ideas?

Did some of the tips on that thread. I think I have narrowed it down to a bad power supply. I will buy one this weekend and give it a try. Thanks for all of the help.John

Thank you for the advice. I will give it a try and let you know later how it goes.John

I can not even get the computer to boot into safe mode. When it tries to load crcdisk it shutdowns on its own. I am out of ideas about this problem.

Tempratures are good. All fans are operating correctly and temps are within correct range. I cleaned off all of the old thermal grease and replaced it with new artic silver thermal grease. I am completely stumped by this problem. Thanks,John

Unfortunatly, the graphics card is intergrated with the motherboard. I have tried removing each stick of ram and each time, no go. Could it be that both sticks are bad?

I have an emachines desktop (t5254) that has recently begun having problems. It will boot up but when it starts to load Windows, it will completely shut down. I have tried switching the ram around and making sure all connections are secure. I reset the bios to the default settings. I am at a loss as to the cause. Any help would be appriciated.John

Here is a copy of the email I received for anyone who might not have received it. Dear Members,We have just had to perform some massive upgrades on the servers, this has blown our budget and we are in desperate need of funding to pay our invoices. This is a plea to anyone that can afford to spare a few pounds/euros/dollars or anything we really need to pay these bills. The upgrade performed were:- New Windows 2008 Machine Purchased (Old one failed)- Server Memory Upgraded (Hence the huge speed difference in site)- KVM access for data centre- An additional 16 IP addresses for use with AFTS3.This is an honest and genuine fee, we are looking to make approximately 300GBP to cover this months invoices which are due now.You do not have to choose a package from the shop we will automatically issuing vouchers to anyone who makes a paypal payment to billing@simfly.eu if the amounts do not conform to what you can afford. You can also visit our Voucher Shop via visiting www.simfly.eu/shop.phpThis is an urgent situation though, and if we do not pay our bills they will eventually cut off our GIGABIT cables until we do, which means the site will just go off. Many Thanks SimFly.EU Teamhttp://www.simfly.eu

Andy,There is one 737NG panel that I found here on Avsim. Do a search for Paul Scarratt and the PS Panels 737NG panel will show up. I personally think it if the best freeware panel out there.John

Have you changed the .air or .cfg files for this aircraft. I changed these files not to long ago and had error messages whenever I tried to load the loadedit program. Changing them back to the default fixed the problem.John

Just an update. I went back to FSUIPC 3.12 and all my problems disappeared. Has anyone else had any problems with 3.53?Thanks,John
-
Thanks, I did that several times. I received an email from the developers and they said to switch to an earlier version of FSUIPC. I was using 3.53 and switched back to 3.12 which was the last version I was using. Well, everything works perfectly now and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone who offered advice!!Thanks,John

>I am curious why you're using shortcut keys rather than>mousing on the buttons. Have you tried it that way? I have>no idea what CTRL-H is supposed to do, btw.CRTL-H is mapped by default to MCP HDG selector pull. I have tried using the keyboard shortcut and mousing the knobs. I was using the keyboard shortcut because that is the way the tutorial is written and I didn't want to leave something out by mistake.>What cruise flight level do you have programmed in the MCDU? >And did you load page 2 of the init with block fuel etc?The cruise flight level is set at FL310 and the ZFW and fuel block were set correctly. I was using the CYYZ-KORD tutorial because I thought I was overlooking something and I wanted to make sure the fault wasn't something I was ommiting either due to programming or system management. >Regards>>Bob Scott>ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300>Santiago de Chile>If you can suggest anything else, I'll give it a try. Thanks again,John
