  1. Ah, fair point. So the dlss 3.5.1 was what I had done previously, and that’s how I ended up with both at 3.5.1
  2. Yep. I had the best performance experience during the beta when I updated the dlss only to 3.5.1 and didn’t touch the dlssg. twice I noticed the downgrade - first was when another SU14 beta came and downgraded the dlss back to 2.4.1(?) or whatever version it was originally - second was this time with SU14 final, when both dlss and dlssg got upgraded together to 3.5.1 seems like my system prefers dlss 3.5.1 and the original dlssg 1.0.1 combo
  3. I find I only benefit with the dlss updated, and not the dlssg. I had to revert my dlssg back to 1.0.1, with the dlss at 3.5.1 and the sim runs a lot smoother. When both got updated with SU14 I had worse performance. On a laptop RTX 3070/i9-10th gen
  4. I have no clue how this thing works under the hood. I’ve tried DLSS with all the settings but I cannot stand the blurring of numbers/ghosting effects. With TAA I get much better frames on my system, at least 5-10fps with less stuttering. Again I do not know how it works, but it seems to have an effect for me. I guess the effects will vary. Interestingly with the latest beta (.21), it reverted itself back to what MSFS original was. As soon as I loaded in (SR22/NZQN) knew something was off and I went and checked the version of the file. Changed the file to the 3.5 version and all the stutters went away.
  5. Has improved performance for me. On a laptop 3070, lot more smoother with same settings in the Fenix and PMDG. Using DX12 with TAA.
  6. I think FBW gets the colours of the displays, fonts etc much better. Functionality wise for a standard A to B flight it’s decent. I haven’t done in-depth or failure etc obviously, as I don’t think that’s the purpose of it
  7. Works very well. Well done inibuilds team, and the ASOBO team for bringing this to us at no cost. This would easily beat certain payware addons. Did a cold dark start and a full circuit around NZAA and she flew as you’d expect an airbus to fly. In fact the flight dynamics handled pretty well in a cross wind also. Independent FMCs. No terrain map though. Only thing I’m not sure is the performance, seemed to had a lot of stutters on my system that I normally don’t have in similar settings with other addons at the same load, but to be checked out further.
  8. Matt from working titles mentioned that this is to reduce load on the computer. They may at sometime in the future create an expansion pack to address this but at the moment there is no way around it.
  9. In my limited flights I definitely didn’t experience the late take off/tail strike, but as with my previous post - this is how I load my plane 1) simbrief import it all the weights/fuel in via FMC 2) go to MSFS W/B page, don’t touch any of the weights, just click on the CG slider (you may need to expand the W/B window wider, the CG is on the right side), even if just move the dot to the same place it again from where it has been, the CG will be in a more reasonable value and the TO trim will be also more reasonable. Good luck!
  10. I have an issue with simbrief import. The CG is always in the 30s (34-36) which would often give a TO trim in the low 2-3. Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that this is not realistic and TO trim should normally be in the range of 4-6? My current bypass is to import from simbrief, and then readjust CG in the default W/B settings in MSFS, to a value around 20-25, which would give a TO trim if 4-6.
  11. I don’t see a problem with that. This version of FS was released in August 2020. All the updates have been/are still free. MS could have just said no more updates. Sim updates - nah. World updates - nah. Yes sometimes things are broken. But at least they listen and still actively develop and aim to improve and engage with community. Maybe I’m old, but I don’t get this community some days… there’s a lot of entitlement going on. Look at that 787 we got. Free! Missing somethings - yes. But I would say it’s on par if not better with QW787 back in the days (bar the VSD/FO PFD). The final updated version of QW787 doesn’t even expand the ILS loc scale when you’re on approach on P3D… the HUD is a beautiful recreation in MS and a lot better than QW. I have absolutely no issues if they are focusing certain things to MSFS2024. It’s time that I pay them for 4 years of enjoyment. Cheers, Chen
  12. Just did an RNAV approach into Bali using the latest beta. Lots improvement on the sideways/sensitive rudder issue on the 78X! I can actually land and track centerline without feeling like it landed on ice. No sudden jerking movements on AP disconnect. Hope to get the proper build (V0.1.13) that was meant to ship with the beta soon - the only thing would be the CG issue from simbrief loading which I understand is already fixed now. Flight plan and winds all uploaded without issue. Great work MSFS team and Working Titles team! Cheers, Chen
  13. AAU2 does a bunch of awesome updates thanks to the Working Titles team, with much more realistic systems modelling and the feel of the aircraft. I’m currently using the beta which has a few bugs here and there, but it’s a lot more enjoyable to fly compared with the original default. It’s officially supposed to come out around the 23rd June - not too long to go!
  14. I’m very excited about this new simulator. As someone who has been with the franchise since FS2002, I think it’s very important that there is forward progress, and I’m glad MS is still progressing the franchise further. Seeing the FAQ means that they are hearing what the community’s concerns are and I have to say this current team has just been amazing and open. Also - they’ve been dropping updates for the entire almost 3 years that MSFS has been released. For FREE! We now have default aircrafts that I would have gladly paid for in the past (eg 787 AAU2). Back in those days you’d be repurchasing each new sim in a box on discs. Some payware developers will support new sims, some won’t. It’s just like how it has always been. When MS disbanded the FS after FSX, the only benefit was the ecosystem was mainly stagnant and what you had was what you got. I went to P3D v3 then supported through v4 then to v5. I’ve bought aircrafts (eg PMDG 777) for both platforms. Did I want to pay twice? I think most of us would say no. But the reason was that I’m supporting a developer, who creates amazing add ons, and help to keep them in business. I will undoubtedly be buying the 777 for MSFS when it comes up. So in summary - as long as MS doesn’t do what they tried to do with MS Flight, i.e. close off an entire ecosystem (which naturally caused the demise of that platform itself) - I’m all for the new simulator, and I will support the people behind MS/ASOBO/our favourite developers!

  16. Hi Aamir, Thank you so much for the detailed explanations you gave. This is the best communication I've ever had from a developer about what is being done behind the scenes. Take as much time as you guys need, and look after the team (I hope Dave continues to have microwave rights). Appreciate all you and your team do. Best wishes Chen
  17. Thanks guys. That makes a lot of sense! Will look into it!
  18. Thanks Bobsk8. Happy to take recommendations on the pedals - what are you using?
  19. Just never felt the need to previously in P3D. The twist on the stick has always been what I have used. But seriously considering getting one now, as MSFS has definitely upped the game with the wind and gusts especially with this update, and I actually need to have downward aileron input with the stick which is much harder to do with a twisting motion at the same time… will need to apply for approval from the “finance” dept 🤣😜
  20. I’m interested in the issues with landing. Prior to this most recent update I cannot control the plane after touchdown with a crosswind >5knots, and will almost always drift off the runway once the nose is on the ground with excessive input from the rudder axis. The most recent update seems to have fixed this issue, for which I am happy about. I am using the Thrustmaster A320 stick and throttle only. I am wondering whether if you guys use rudder pedals and if this makes any difference? As I can see that several of you have now reverted back to .104 version. Thanks!
  21. Definitely missed the joke there @Crocket 😅! My bad! But it is the simulation of these little “useless” details that makes the overall experience so immersive, and that makes the distinction of a quality product from one that isn’t. There are add-ons out there that people/companies are charging money for, that doesn’t even go anywhere near the level of detail you guys put into this beauty. Thanks again!
  22. To the FBW team You guys are awesome. Keep up the great work all of you do for this community! Please ignore the unhappy people. I use both FBW and FENIX and both are great simulations. Different levels at the moment in terms of systems simulation for obvious reasons (eg failures), but one I paid for and the other one is completely free, so it’s not particularly fair to compare. In terms of day to day flying from A to B both are well simulated. Cheers, Chen
  23. Hello, My two cents - I own both. From a day to day flight point of view both are great. But it really depends on which simulator your see you will use more in the future as it’s more of an investment in a platform. The fact is MSFS has a much better visual engine +/- flight engine (depending on how you feel about it using your own set up). P3D has been a great simulator in its day (from around 2008-2020) after FSX had its plug pulled by Microsoft. I was glad there was a platform where there was ongoing active development and improvement. Nevertheless once MSFS came along it was just so much more superior visually. It still has a fair share of issues but hey, all platform does. Since MSFS came along - I’ve always maintained both on my computer, with P3D v5 being my “simulator” and MSFS being more of for me to experience a new visual engine. But given the releases in the last month with PMDG 737 and Fenix A320 (I have both), along with what appears to be much anticipated releases of MD82 and BAe 146 (I don’t have these so cannot comment), I have said goodbye to P3D and have not looked back. In fact even prior to release I was much more drawn to the A32NX by the wonderful FBW team which already does a great job in simulating day to day Airbus operations. I went back to P3D maybe 3 times in the last few months to experience the 320/747/777/787 once more from FSlabs/PMDG/QW, but now I’ve said my goodbyes and will look forward to these being developed for MSFS. Cheers, Chen
  24. Thank you so much for this! I cannot stand flying with map in north up mode, was a huge enjoyment killer. Amazing work!!!
